What our customers say about their holidays
Brogan - Verified booking
We were looking for a long weekend, something close to nature, walks and activities.
Somewhere we could all go together as a family and friends, which included 2 pet dogs, a puppy guide dog, a toddler and adults. Somewhere we could host a murder mystery dinner party. But somewhere we would each have our own space without feeling on top of eachother. We found all of this and more at Pentre Hall Bronygarth! James & Helen are fantastic hosts. They have thought of all the fine details within the property and in the gardens too. Their communication before and during the stay was brilliant and they were more than happy to assist us with anything we needed. Each bedroom was spacious, each of our guests had their own bedroom with an en suite shower room and the 2 King Size rooms shared the family bathroom. There is a downstairs toilet. Log burning fires. 2 lounge areas and a huge dining area. Outside there is lots of space for the dogs to run around. Plus a gorgeous wood burning hot tub. Some of my favourite and unexpected details: Tissue box in each room Separate towels for hot tub. Blankets / towels for dogs. Essentials in the bathroom. Lots of games and books. Badminton net and rackets outside. Lovely welcome hamper. Washing up and laundry essentials Ample toilet rolls. Fully equipped kitchen with super fast oven. I would recommend this stay to any type of family as it has something to suit everyone's needs and interests.

This is a lovely cottage in a perfect location.
Five minutes walk to Brockhole, a few minutes drive to Windermere/Bowness or Ambleside. Ample room for six people with a lovely open plan layout downstairs. Our grandchildren are paddle boarders and we found a lovely spot at Middleground along the Bowness road which has a car park with toilets and is a short walk down to the lakeside, or if youâre lucky, a lay-by just before the car park which has access to the lake if youâre able to carry equipment a bit further. Just a couple of things missing which is why Iâve only given a 4 for some questions. The outside light is not working and, as there is a step up to the door, can be quite dangerous for younger children (and sometimes adults too). We couldnât find a kitchen sink plug anywhere so it was difficult to clean grill and grill pan. The information folder told us there were details in a basket by the front door about refuse and estate rules but there was nothing in the basket other than fire instructions. Might I also suggest a casserole dish. We ate in almost every night and we did manage but it would have been much easier to have one. And yes the downstairs en-suite needs updating (previous reviewer) but it was spotlessly clean. Please donât let any of this put you off staying here. It really is a lovely place and we will definitely stay her again.

The cottage was just perfect for us!
! We are a family of 5 (3 teenage children) and 1 dog. The house was so comfortable and exceptionally well equipped - it literally has everything you could need. We were lucky enough to visit during a very hot week, so every day was around 29 degrees. We ate every meal in the courtyard garden, and it felt like we were abroad. The local beaches were perfect, although Criccieth beach had some jellyfish - we did mainly go to Abersoch beach as we preferred it. Opposite the house there is a beautiful riverside walk which was wonderfully shady for the dog - we all had a dip in the river, which was gorgeous. As it was so hot, we didnât get to walk as much in Snowdonia as we wanted to, which was a shame. We also werenât able to eat any meals out as we couldnât get booked in anywhere - so if you want pub meals - do book in advance. With regard to the cottage, the beds were delightfully comfortable, and the cottage was wonderfully cool, the showers was lovely too and there was plenty of hot water. Apart from the water being very soft and making my hair go all fluffy, I canât find a single negative to say about our week away!

We all had such a wonderful stay at Pentre Hall.
There is nothing at all to fault about this beautiful property, it's grounds and facilities. This is an old building, full of character and history but yet it has everything you will need to make your stay perfect. That said, about it's age, it was spotlessly clean (even in places you'd expect to see a bit of dust). The kitchen is modern and really well stocked (the best selection of every glass you'll need), the bedrooms are gorgeously decorated with such comfortable beds and bed linen. We really enjoyed the wood fired hot tub too. Great location near to Chrik and Llangolen, with some great eateries nearby. We tackeld the 4 hour walk taking in the aqueduct/viaduct, tunnels and Chirk Castle (ask James for walk maps), visited nearby Blue Planet Aqarium and also Llangolen, which was plenty to do in our 4 days there. Overall a 10/10 from us and I'm sure we will return. Thank you James for being such a welcoming and informative host and for allowing us to share your lovely (and very interesting) family home x

Disappointed that a cottage that promoted a wood burner did not include any wood or even suggestions where to buy it, never had this before with a cottage.
After a long drive and filthy weather nothing would have been better than to light the fire. There is only really seating for 3 which is not really sufficient for a 3 bedroom cottage & the strange leather seat which would probably win a world's most uncomfortable chair competition needs to be binned. We were also very disappointed and amazed that the cottage owners don't care about recycling when it was clearly available they need to think again, Sykes need to get this sorted out and make sure the availability or not of recycling is given prominence. Otherwise the cottage was comfortable and warm in a great location with all the utensils you would need, we pointed out that the aerial connection needs renewing but heard nothing back, which is again disappointing. When it rains the BBC channels distort & freeze and you can't get HD channels. It also appears from the road that the aerial has been blown over slightly.
