What our customers say about their holidays

The property is in a great location and clearly has been recently modernised to a fairly high standard.
However there are a number of small issues which if addressed would make this property five star in all respects: 1. There is no information about any of the facilities to assist people who stay there - heating, lighting, blinds etc. Simple to do but it seems to be an issue which clients have highlighted consistently over the last few months. 2. The log burner in the lounge could not be used as it leaked smoke from the seal between the chamber and the chimney. A health and safety issue but one which Im fairly sure could have been fairly quickly resolved -probably the biggest issue. 3.Related to this it meant the underfloor heating needed to be boosted to supplement the heating - this cannot be done quickly to make the room warm and comfortable also there were no instructions relating to this. 4. The showers - the owner phoned us to advise before we arrived that one of the showers was out of commission. This was not an issue for us as there was an en-suite shower in the other bedroom. However this shower did not operate properly as the overhead part of the shower would not work. Again a fairly simple repair needed. 5. Blinds for the vellux roof windows in this room should be fitted (not an issue for us) but it does make for a very bright room as soon as dawn kicks in. 6.The front door lock is not easy to operate from the point of view of getting out of the house as there is only a small turning 'handle' to hold on to. Whilst I have listed a few things here we loved our stay at the house but found it a bit frustrating when I read the reviews that many of the issues had already been identified but were still outstanding. Just take time to resolve them and take away some of the hassle for all concerned.

We had a wonderful stay at The Granary!
Due to traffic being very kind to us we arrived earlier than the check in time, but after contacting Christine & Stanley they said that this wasnât a problem. We were met promptly and shown around the property and grounds - all lovely. The Granary was spotless, milk had been left for us in the fridge along with a bottle of local apple juice and a cake. There was also a tray with various condiments, tea bags, coffee etc. The bedrooms were spacious, with wardrobes and drawers, and the beds very comfortable. The wet room was amazing, and perfect for my elderly mum. There was a good selection of miniature toiletries in the bathroom cabinet too. Our cocker spaniel, Pippa, soon made friends and loved exploring the garden. There is also a field behind The Granary that we could use to walk her, with an opening in the far corner to various footpaths, which made for some excellent walks. It was a perfect base to explore Norfolk and what it has to offer. At the end of our stay we all said that it felt like we had been staying with friends, and mum said how safe she felt when we left her to take Pippa across the fields for a walk. Thank you Christine & Stanley for a wonderful holiday, weâd like to visit again in the future, if youâll have us!

Lovely renovated cottage in a busy little town with lots of facilities.
The house is extremely well kitted out having more than enough kitchen equipment, two great shower rooms and plenty of space both upstairs and down. It would have been helpful to be told the key safe was at the back of the property and the front door wasnât in use. Also some information about the house; which bins belonged to the property, when the bins were to be put out, which was the recycling bin and that some of the blinds were operated remotely would have been of assistance. There are two velux windows in the ceiling of the larger bedroom which do not have blinds meaning that the room was very bright at dawn. A bit of a challenge if you are a light sleeper. Ruth the owner was accessible and easy to get in touch with. Overall I would highly recommend a stay at Bramwell House, the points raised are far outweighed by the high standard of the renovation, amenities in the house and village plus the excellent situation, so close to Hadrianâs Wall etc

A beautiful, exceptionally stylish and well presented property in a great location in the centre of Corbridge.
However, it was lacking in some basic facilities which lets it down unfortunately. The only hanging space for clothes is in the second bedroom which makes it very awkward if two couples are staying. Even a few hooks in the en-suite bedroom would help. No mirror in the en-suite shower room which is tricky if you need to have a shave. True, there is one in the main bathroom but again, not ideal if juggling with other guests. The biggest issue we had was the lack of iron and ironing board. We had travelled up for a family celebration and discovered we couldn't iron anything on the morning of the event so my husband had to make an hour long round trip to his parents house to iron his clothes. Thank goodness we had that option! Such a shame as these are little things to remedy but have a big impact without them. If these were resolved we'd have no hesitation in going back as it really is a beautiful property aside from these niggles.

We had a great holiday at this property.
The house was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. The facilities at the house were first class and the hot tub was the âcherry on topâ. The location was great for trips to the many seaside towns in the area and for country walks with our dog. And that view from the house and garden just has to be seen to be believed!! We spoke with Grant the owner a few times and he was very nice, helpful and accommodating. The welcome pack was a nice touch and appreciated. Although we had a mixed bag of weather it didnât dampen our enjoyment of the house in the slightest. When it was wet and miserable outside the log burner fire and comfortable lounge were so relaxing and when it was warm and nice outside the garden furniture and that view really were worth the drive alone. Would highly recommend this lovely, spacious and private property to anyone and will definitely be looking to go again sometime in the future.
