What our customers say about their holidays

The property needs a lot of tlc paid to it.
They are about 14 years old atnd need a refit! The toilet seats in both rooms were loose. Shower was very hard to turn on and off. Had to get a cloth to do it! Door handles were loose on 2 doors, 1 of the table chairs is loose, I shut my finger in the seat! Plates and glasses have chips in them, Oven is hard to use as temperatures are rubbed off. Could not get the dryer to work. Dust and dirt at low level hanging off the radiators, tv all grime above it. Poor decking and steps up to the front door all need retreating looks very scruffy! Grass is far too long when fishing feet get soaking wet!! Very low level water, needs filling up not good for Fishing you could see the mud on the bank, water is very dirty which was a shame as it is a nice spot and very quiet. There needs to be rubbish bins by the lodges not all the way up by the entrance track. We did not get any information about door code, wifi etc I had to phone the owners number. There should be an info pack on arrival etc with information on.

Set in a quiet backdrop overlooking a fishing lake, these lodges are a perfect place to spend a week relax doing nothing, or use as a base to explore the amazing sites around North Somerset.
Our lodge was extremely well appointed, very comfortable both inside and outside with enough lounge chairs for everything. The kitchen is well equipped for home cooking with enough utensils you could need, a full sized fridge freezer, dishwasher, electric over and gas cooker. Thereâs even a washer dryer. There are 2 bathrooms (one an en-suite) and one with a bath, good showers in both. When we stayed, there were two geese, they may seem aggressive, and may fly at the lodges the first time you open the balcony doors, but trust me, they are friendly, and if you leave them alone they will leave you alone, but if you feed them, they will be at your door every morning. We couldnât fault anything of our stay, and we were all extremely sad to leave. Next time we holiday in U.K., we will definitely come back to the lodge.

Generally the accommodation was OK, however the bathroom is well overdue for replacement.
The sink and shower water outlets are rusty. The shower base is now yellowing and the glass shower screen is not clear giving the appearance that it was unclean. The tiling grout inside the shower cubicle is mostly discoloured at the bottom half of the cubicle, also giving the appearance that it was unclean. Because of this I personally could not use the shower, it's not ideal to be without a shower for five days. I object to paying for, and be expected to use, facilities that are sub standard. All other facilities were fine, although the sellotaped TV remote only worked intermittently which was occasionally annoying. The location is lovely and the member of staff I met, James, was very pleasant indeed. Sort the bathroom out and I would be very happy to return.

Booked with Sykes but then received and email from the lodge owners.
Within the email had lots of detail including highlighted text saying the internet was restricted and not to be used for streaming. Well taking a 15yr old this news was like facing the firing squad. We emailed the owners but had no response? In the end his xbox work great and he was happy during the stay. The lodge was great but geese were a big problem! If you can imagine a great setting overlooking a lake, lovely grass area down to the fishing pegs but full of goose poo. It was covered everywhere. If you had small children this would have been a show stopper. We love wildlife but hissing geese around adults is bad enough but would not have been able to have children near them. It is a shame about the couple of negatives as the lodge and views were stunning.

Absolutely fantastic little cottage in a beautiful setting with everything you could need.
Host was fantastic and really friendly and helpful each time he saw us. We were so lucky with the weather so we spent a lot of time on the beach, but would come back in all weathers! Beautiful fields on the doorstep for our dog to explore. Kitchen well equipped with everything you need and all appliances really self explanatory. Small built in freezer compartment in the fridge is a great bonus when you're travelling with ice packs for your picnic bag! Access to a washing machine and tumble dryer in an outbuilding too. Thanks for a great and comfortable weekend, would love to come back again soon!
