What our customers say about their holidays
The D Family. - Verified booking
We have just stayed at 3, Sandy Lane for 7-nights and it has been simply wonderful. We are a family of 4 with two children aged 7 and 5 who loved their first ever UK holiday! The apartment is fairly spacious, modern, clean and finished to a high standard - Dualit kettle and toaster, Joseph Joseph utensils, John Lewis crockery are simple examples of where luxury and attention to detail have been observed. The decor is light, bright and feels like a âhome from homeâ.The beautiful bi-fold doors open onto a large terrace area that stretches around the side of the apartment where two rattan sun beds can be foundâ¦and are perfectly located to catch those Cornish rays of sunshine in the event the sun makes an appearance - which fortunately it did for us!The beds are comfortable and beautifully made up - just be mindful they are double beds so if you have a super king sized bed at home it takes some adjusting to!The apartment itself is perfectly located to explore all Cornwall has to offer - we took trips out to the Minack Theatre, Lands End and Hayle beach just to name a few and none took too long to get to.Carbis Bay train station is about a 3-minute walk away and ideal to jump on to travel to the nearby town of St Ives - in fact, Iâd suggest it is a must as the views are spectacular and parking in St Ives is hellish!Carbis Bay beach takes just 5-10 minutes to walk to - even with two kids and body boards in tow -though the walk back is a good 10-15 given itâs uphill!I honestly, canât recommend 3, Sandy Lane enough as the perfect place to stay in the event youâre visiting north Cornwall. Weâll certainly be looking to return next year and hope the exceptional standards set have been maintained. Thanks you to the owners and Cornwall Hideaways for the perfect staycation.

Mr Astill - Verified booking
The property was poorly maintained, and the photos are clearly quite old as it no longer looks the same inside or out. The outside area is in dire need of maintenance, cleaning and the plants need cutting back desperately. The windows were filthy. To pass off this property as having an outside terrace was an insult, what it had was a mucky, unsafe area outside stuffed with rubbish and overgrown trees. Inside the apartment needs a deep cleaning; although the immediate surfaces were clean the apartment itself is grubby, very dusty and smelt heavily of mould. The location is great and the apartment well equipped, linnen, beds and kitchen all nice and clean (but as previously stated more widely the place is dusty and mouldy). Parking is convenient down a small dirt track to the side of the apartment, but be prepared for your car to get covered in detritus from the wooded area where it is situated I'd steer clear of this place in future, seems its a cash cow for someone unfortunately.

We stay in Mawgan Porth each year and chose the apartment for it's great location.
We arrived to find it just as advertised, a lovely apartment with everything you need and spotlessly clean. Our only gripe was the ensuite was unusable due to a broken toilet seat which couldn't be sat on and a basin that had the plug fast stuck shut. Surely the cleaners would have noticed this and should have asked maintenance to fix. Also the door from the lounge to the hallway doesn't close properly so it rattles unless you leave it wide open. It would be handier if the terrace had some sort of fence or barrier so that you could sit out with your dogs on the terrace. The rule of no dogs on the grass means you can't really sit on the terrace if you have dogs with you for concern of them stepping out. The entrance to the car park could do with better thought as there's minimal room to sit your car in the road whilst fiddling with a chain to open it. We had a lovely holiday and would certainly come back. Thank you

Mrs Raynor - Verified booking
Although the space itself was appropriate for infants and children, I would argue that the access makes it very inappropriate. Having to either park temporarily in a less than ideal spot and climb the unguarded large slippery steps and path with my 8month old, and 83 year old mother, or to go down the even slippery steps and path to where the car was parked, made it stressful to leave the apartment and arrive home each day. The details suggested it was very near the beachfront, however due to the trees you could not see any water at all, and the beach seemed much further away than was stated. The tvs both seemed to have trouble working. There was no WiFi, and signal was poor so not even able to use data very easily. Overall I was disappointed with the choice, and will not be likely to book with Original Cottahes again, based on this experience.
