  We absolutely loved our stay at Gwel y Mor.

  We booked last minute as the weather forecast looked promising, dry but cold. On arrival at the apartment we collected the keys easily and the parking space was very handy. The apartment was absolutely spotless and had everything we needed. Heating the apartment was no trouble despite how cold it was and we were extremely comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the shower/bath had instant hot water. We cooked our evening meals and again all the crockery, cooker fridges etc were spotless. There was a dishwasher but we didn't use it as that's my job! TV and internet was faultless and we were very happy in the apartment. However the star of the show is the view! You literally sit in the bay windows looking directly out to sea! To your left is Harlech with its castle and the Rhinog ridge on the skyline from Moel Ysgyfarnogod to Rhinog Fawr, Rhinog Fach, Y Llethr, Diffwys, Moelfre and dropping away to Barmouth! Then Cader Idris stands sentinel and the coast is visible heading down towards Cardigan. On your right is Llanbedrog with it famous Tin Man stood on the headland and then the coast as it curves round past Abersoch to the Cilan headland and the St Tudwal islands with Bear Grylls light house winking at you! In a morning we sat with a hot cuppa as the sun rose behind the mountains and then lit up the sea and in the evening the sky towards the headland was the most glorious orange! Despite coming here to walk it was hard to drag ourselves away from the view and actually get out! The Wales Coastal footpath runs right past the apartment and the Llyn Peninsula is blessed with so many wonderful footpaths either coastal or hills. It's easy to catch the train along the Cambrian Coast and the buses are only 15 minutes walk away. If you do come here between April and September check out the Fflecsi bus service which picks you up and drops you off all around the Llyn for a nominal fee, its a fantastic way to get about. Pwllheli was around 15 minutes walk and there are supermarkets and fuel so there is everything you need. The owner had left us coffee, tea bags, milk in the fridge, Welsh Cakes and chocolate biscuits which were a really nice touch. There were lots of other little extras like phone charging cables, books, games, information and a fantastic pair of binoculars to use. Communication was really good and it was one of the best apartments we have stayed in and we hope to return very shortly as we are already missing the views.   To anyone looking to book a relaxing break, with a stunning view I would recommend you don't look anywhere else and you just book this place.

  Words really don't do justice to how amazing and peaceful the seaview was, especially at sunrise and sunset and just sitting with a cup of tea at the breakfast table was so tranquil. From the apartment to the sea was less than a minute walk and we spent hours enjoying the sea and sand. The surrounding area and beaches are all easily accessible if you are driving and the post it's on the wall in the kitchen really helped us to plan our short break. Our children loved their stay and can't wait for us to go back again soon. It was a child friendly apartment with some nice board games too. The landlords communication with us was really pleasant too and nice little house keeping touches made the stay so much more personal. The only downside was that we didnt stay longer. Looking forward to booking again next year.

  Our second winter visit this year and despite the forecast being somewhat damp we were very lucky and walked every day and didn't get wet.

  We chose Gwel Y Mor initially for it's location, right on the sea front with amazing views. Whatever the weather, sat in the bay window with a cuppa you feel like you are outside and could happily sit there all day watching the scene changing in comfort. Per my previous review the apartment is very comfortable, warm and homely with everything that you need for your stay in Pwllheli. The apartment has a rich history in the area and it's well worth reading about the horse drawn tramway from West End to Plas Glyn y Weddw. We would like to keep Gwel y Mor a secret so it's always available for us to book in the future but that wouldn't be fair. Conatct with the friendly owners was first class and we could not fault anything and our stay was perfect. Diolch yn fawr Glyn & Ann

  A very relaxing stay.

  We felt completely at home. It was a nice quiet building and very clean appartment. We certainly weren't ready to leave and could have easily stayed a full week. The notice board with tips and hint of where to visit was brilliant. The welcome pack was a nice touch. Slightly difficult to find when we arrived. We saw the carpark but wanted to see the front of the building before we parked (because the carpark is a little gloomy), so we drove along the seafront. We saw lots of colourful buildings with numbers so followed the numbers to the end. We eventually drove back and saw the front door for West Point. It may be good to explain exactly where the front of the building of West Point is should people want to see that before parking, to get their bearings.

  The Hayloft was a fantastic property with luxury fixtures and fittings throughout.

  The layout provided for a comfortable and private break which is what we needed. The facilities were good, the hot tub being a must for us, with the gym getting some use during the week to burn off the excessive calories that were consumed. Nice private garden and good bbq. Probably missed a garden table/chair but still enjoyable. We liked the access via security gates to the site and good recycling facilities too. The owners obviously take pride in the upkeep of the premises and maintenance of the grounds/gardens. We enjoyed the selection of g&t's and beers which came with an honesty jar (we are now converted) and welcoming free bottle of prosecco . Thank you to all involved for a lovely week.
