  A wonderful property with delightful views, finished to the highest standard and a 5 minute drive to the local village of Seahouse. It was such a pleasure to stay at The Byre, from the minute we unlocked the door we felt at home. The cottage is very spacious, plenty of seating in the lounge and dining room, all facilities were immaculately clean. Caroline the owner was very attentive, quick to reply to messages, offering advice and assistance when needed and nothing was too much trouble. Although we chose to eat out every day, the cottage is full of the appliances you would expect such as dishwasher, fridge, freezer, oven, toaster, and the wine cooler was a nice surprise! There is a separate utility room with an additional fridge/freezer, washer and drier so you really do have everything you need for your stay. Both bedrooms were large clean and airy and both bathrooms were beautiful. A lot of thought has gone into the cottage, the attention to detail and standard is superb. It really is the most beautiful place to stay and the views were stunning, we came home feeling very relaxed and will definitely book again.

  This property was exceptional! It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, beautifully presented & furnished to a high standard, no expense spared! Lovely to see everything thoughtout the property to do with local Cornish people & supplies , from art work, to coffee & tea to Eco friendly & recycleable cleaning supplies & guides, fabulous! My first photos of the holiday were of the kitchen utensils!! (Not my usual photos I may add!) They were sooooo clean, tidy & organised. Everything throughout this property had been thought of. A lovely welcome pack on arrival was a nice added touch. Location was perfect, just a 5 minute walk into the centre, if that. Be mindful though it is quite a climb back up the steep road, but this is just a small minor & if you've been to Padstow before you will be prepared for the many hilly street walks. The advertising photos for this property really do not do it enough justice. Would I stay at Gull Rock again ?... Most definitely!

  On arrival house was as expected.

  Lovely position over looking the sea. it was well equipped, although not all the kitchen equipment was clean, especially the cooker. There was no welcome pack which we usually receive when visiting other properties managed by Sykes. The beds were not king size and very uncomfortable. one of our party slept on the sofa a couple of nights. We had a power cut on Saturday morning, after that no hot water. We contacted the property owner who informed us to switch on immersion heater. (had to hunt for the switch) We thought, wrongly so that this would be fixed but we saw no one. There was broken patio chair on the balcony which the owner was informed of. On the whole a lovely week, weather was good, its a pity about the beds as this is an important part of any holiday Some other minor points such as no shaver points in the bathrooms or slip mats in the showers. On the whole an enjoyable experience.

  This was the best self-catering accommodation we have had. The owners are to be congratulated in their choice of design, decor, furnishings and equipment. The fact that this was a seemingly rare case of 'no pets allowed' was an important 'plus' point which we hope the owners will continue to apply. The garden areas were attractive, spacious and very well maintained. There was an issue with the heating system which caused noise disturbance during the night (underfloor heating & towel rails!). This was dealt with promptly, arrangements being made to isolate this part of the system. The letting agent is being contacted separately with regard to the irritating amount of emailed information sent (by the agent) prior to , during and after the holiday.

  This cottage had everything I could have hoped for. The garden has a flat area, but slope quite steeply, this may be an issue for small exitable children. The surrounding fields contained a variety of farm animals which were adorable from both outside and inside the cottage thanks to the beautiful large windows. The kitchen was massive and well equipped, the lounge had very comfortable furniture and the temperature was very comfortable. The bathrooms, great, but we found the water temperature in the showers a little on the hot side even at the coolest setting, this was not a problem for us, but may be for others; easily sort outable, I would think.
