What our customers say about their holidays

!st week of September booking for us - our Anniversary! We couldn't have chosen better - it was a home away from home
. Everything was thought of - even a hairdryer (although it was suited for drying not styling). The kitchen was fully equipped - all the tools you could possibly need on holiday, and some you might not - even a fully loaded spice rack; condiments, and tea, coffee, sugar. As a conscientious renter we did make sure that we replenished any of the consumables - seems only fair! Plenty of blankets, for those chillier nights - not that we had any on our stay. A super comfortable bed ensured a good nights sleep. I did take my eye mask, so as to ensure no light pollution woke me too early, that did serve me well. The bathroom was spacious, with a good shower over a deep bath - absolutely splendid. Will, the owner, left a really useful information pack on the table, detailing local places to visit, and the history of the cottage - very informative, and most useful. If any further info was needed there was a very knowledgeable neighbour (Pete) popping into view most days - he was friendly and helpful. We made use of the recommended local chippy and Chinese takeaway (who delivered to us). Both were detailed in the info pack - and yes, they were definitely worth making use of. With some doggy treats left for our four-footed fur-baby, we were totally settled for a delightful week-long stay. Would we go back? A resounding YES! Anything we would change? No, everything you need is there - it is for a self-catering holiday after all! Thankyou Will - we loved it!

I stayed here for 8 nights, and while I was pleased when I first arrived; the bungalow seemed retro and quirky, and the scones were a lovely touch, I soon realised how dirty the accommodation was. My 1yr old dropped his food on the kitchen floor, I wiped it up and was disgusted to see the wet wipe come away black. I found a shard of broken plastic on the landing floor by the mirror. The garage, where the freezer is and the route to the garden, was filthy, the top of the freezer covered in dirt. The door handles through the porch to the kitchen were grubby. The grill in the oven doesn't work. The beds were rock hard and very noisy and had a damp smell to them, covered up by some strong fragrance, such as febreez. There is no bath/shower mat (pretty important for toddlers in the bath or most people in the shower). At a guess, this bungalow was owned by an elderly couple. When they passed away their son decided to rent it out. And changed or updated very little. Most kitchen bits are cheap (bin, dish drainer, kettle etc), which could easily be replaced by something with more quality. Having said this, the bathroom is nice, and the accommodation is a good size. I'm certain there are far worse places to stay, but I think there is no excuse not to have the place professionally cleaned (or just thoroughly cleaned, properly!) after each let.

My late wife and I have stayed at Primley Park approximately 10 times over the past 20 years, including by myself for the past two years. As well as having always provided very well presented, maintained and comfortable accommodation in a quiet residential area it is ideally placed from which to visit the many attractions in both the immediate and wider area either by car or by train from Paignton (mainline and steam railways). It is about a 10-15 minute walk down into the town although be aware it is a fairly steep climb if walking back up but it is its elevated position that provides the panaromic view from the rear of the property of Paignton and easterly towards Torquay. In the early years Primley Park was the third property we rented in Paignton but ever since have never wished to stayed anywhere else. Being in a residential area the neighbours are friendly and Primley Park's owners check to ensure there are no problems with the accommodation. Recommended to me by the owners for my stay in 2014, there is an excellent, full size 18 hole golf course at Churston (between Paignton and Brixham) with fantastic panaromic views across Torbay.

6 Coastal Cottage was perfect for our two-night weekend stay.
We were three adults and two dogs, using the cottage as our base while visiting our daughter who lives in Suffolk. The cottage was warm and cosy during a cold spell, which was a comfort after beach walks with the dogs. The cottage came with a full list of instructions for utilities, including heating. The oven instructions were particularly helpful, as it had a quirky way of being turned on involving the clock/timer. The cottage presented well upon our arrival. It is small, so for a longer stay with three adults and two dogs, we would look for something larger, especially as we had our daughter and her partner visit for an afternoon. However, the images and description on the website accurately reflect the cottage. During the summer months, the outside space would be a bonus. The dishwasher was a bit tired but still functioned fine. Ideally situated for beach walks, which are just a two-minute walk away. Overall, a comfortable stay.

I cannot recommend the flat enough - we stayed for 4 nights in early June with our 5 year old daughter and couldn’t be happier with our stay. Comms from the outset were clear and concise, check-in very easy and again regular communication from the house manager. The flat is bright and airy, well thought out, immaculately clean and well designed with an outstanding view of the harbour and Torbay. Kitchen is well equipped, sofas and chairs comfortable as are the beds, views are phenomenal and bathrooms well appointed, modern and clean. Handy cut through to the cliff walk meant we were on the beach in 5 mins and even though the hill is steep, our 5 year old made it up there every day without any complaints. Parking is on street and free, non-permit - we were fortunate to get a space right outside and once parked, it didn’t move for 5 days. Fantastic base for a great break, we’d highly recommend and hope to be back soon
