  Stunning location, peaceful and idyllic. Beautifully arranged cottage with everything you could need - we used the Goldeneye coastal walk guide for every wall we did and each one was excellent. The cottage is ideally placed for accessing all of the Exmoor coast, with Lynton and the surf beaches acc.... Stunning location, peaceful and idyllic. The cottage is ideally placed for accessing all of the Exmoor coast, with Lynton and the surf beaches accessible in 30 minutes, and only an hour over to the gorgeous Hartland peninsula - highly recommended and worth the drive! The kitchen is reasonably well supplied and allows you to cook practically anything. The patio and sunroom are real gems - the patio is perfect to soak up the evening sun and is well protected from the prevailing westerly winds - a proper suntrap. The streaming options and puzzles in the cupboard are the perfect solution to any wet days. The Black Venus pub 5 minutes walk up the road is highly recommended - book early! Brook Cottage is a perfect base for exploring Exmoor

  Brook Cottage is idyllic. It has everything you need for a relaxed stay. The garden room is perfect and offers stunning views over the countryside. We sat every morning watching the Roe Deer, Pheasants, Foxes and Rabbits in the far field, bring binoculars, you won't be disappointed. In the field beh.... Brook Cottage is idyllic. It has everything you need for a relaxed stay. The garden room is perfect and offers stunning views over the countryside. We sat every morning watching the Roe Deer, Pheasants, Foxes and Rabbits in the far field, bring binoculars, you won't be disappointed. In the field behind the garden are sheep and cows. There were house martins nesting next door and Swallows flying around, just wonderful. The local pub The Black Venus is and excellent spot for dinner but you need to book, thoroughly recommend it. Lynton and Lynmouth, Porlock, Valley of the Rocks and the beaches of Mortehoe and Woolacombe are all 30 mins drive away. A wonderful walk very near is Wistlandpound Reservoir, good for a picnic. Thoroughly recommend Brook Cottage and the surrounding area. We look forward to coming back soon.

  We chose Brook cottage as we wanted a countryside break it didn't disappoint it was homely, had everything you needed and we especially loved the garden and sunroom where we spent most of our time watching the wildlife and sheep.Also the housemartins had a nest under the neighbours eaves so we coul.... We chose Brook cottage as we wanted a countryside break it didn't disappoint it was homely, had everything you needed and we especially loved the garden and sunroom where we spent most of our time watching the wildlife and sheep.Also the housemartins had a nest under the neighbours eaves so we could see them flying in and out. There were plenty of walks from the front door so much choice of routes. The location is in a delightful small village with a nice village shop that does fabulous scotch eggs, pasties and cakes and a wonderful pub that does great food recommend booking. We were also not far from some great places to visit by car we enjoyed Lynton and Lynmouth and Valley of the Rocks. Also the roads getting to places are very scenic. We hope to return again sometime.

  We booked this cottage at short notice having been cancelled elsewhere and found the process easy. Directions and information were supplied in good time. We were pleased with the accommodation. There was plenty of room downstairs where the conservatory with a good view was a bonus in the sunny eve.... We booked this cottage at short notice having been cancelled elsewhere and found the process easy. Directions and information were supplied in good time. We were pleased with the accommodation. There was plenty of room downstairs where the conservatory with a good view was a bonus in the sunny evenings. Good upstairs also, the bathroom is smart and loads of room in the comfortable bedroom. Everything we needed and we managed to resolve an Internet problem with the support of Janet next door who could not have been more helpful. We were unfamiliar with the area but Challacombe was a good base from which to walk the North Devon coast.

  Brook cottage is a lovely place to stay, it is very spacious inside and garden is amazing, great views, plenty of space for dogs to run around in. Plus the sun room and wrap around patio is a great addition to really enjoy being outdoors. The kitchen is well equipped and has a large fridge freezer w.... Brook cottage is a lovely place to stay, it is very spacious inside and garden is amazing, great views, plenty of space for dogs to run around in. Plus the sun room and wrap around patio is a great addition to really enjoy being outdoors. The kitchen is well equipped and has a large fridge freezer which is really good to have when planning what to take with you. There is a shop and pub close by should you need anything or eat out. There are walks right from the front door or a short drive. I love exmoor and this is a great place to base yourself. I’m looking forward to returning in a few months already!
