What our customers say about their holidays

We had a super holiday from start to finish. The Baker’s Dozen was a great base for the three of us to explore the local area. The property is just a few minutes walk from Alnwick Castle, some really good restaurants and pubs. Also, it’s just across the road from Morrisons, which was very handy. The parking space provided was more than big enough for our car. The apartment itself was clean and very well-equipped. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept so well all week. The welcome hamper included milk, butter, fresh crusty bread, shortbread and scones which was a lovely thought and meant we could have a cup of tea as soon as we arrived. The coffee machine was great and we brought our own Nespresso pods from home to use in it. The Digital Guidebook that was emailed to us a few days before our trip was so handy whilst out and about with details of places to eat and visit. We will return!

Wonderful stay. Great location and lovely apartment with everything you need from the minute you walk in. Clean and very comfortable. We liked the scones! The welcome basket was lovely and had all the basics but little extra treats like the wine bottles and the Easter egg for our daughter. It was great to walk-in to a basket like this especially after a long day, though it was very well put together and had everything we needed. The apartment was clean and tidy and well decorated but without clutter. The little vanities in the bedrooms were a really nice touch that made getting ready so much easier. We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was lovely and had absolutely everything we needed. The space was comfortable and easy to be in. The location was also great – loved being able to walk everywhere. We will definitely look to Coquet Cottages again.

The cottage is situated in a perfect area for walking, lots of walks to choose from and the buses were regular and just down the road. The Cottage was warm and the beds were very comfortable and the water was always lovely and hot. To make the stay more customer friendly the information pack needs to be kept up to date as it is way out of date, including the bus time table which should have been changed in September and the wi-fi codes as there were two different codes in the pack! The parking spot really is not big enough , even for a small car. My small Audi could not fit in as the back end would have stuck out into the road, on a bend! so really it should not be advertised as parking for a small car ... a Fiat 500 maybe or a Smart car would fit, nothing bigger.

The cottage is in a stunning location which makes it.
However, it wasnât entirely clean, there were finger nails on the table underneath the cook books. There were also no settee cushions (only decorative ones) on the backs of the settees making for very uncomfortable seating. The mattress in the main bedroom was very uncomfortable. The hot tub was dirty (I have photographs) and so full of bubbles and chlorine (because it hadnât been cleaned) it stung our eyes. It also ruined my silver jewellery, which I have never had a problem with wearing in a hot tub before. Again down to the amount of chlorine. My jewellery is very sentimental to me as most of it was bought as gifts from friends and family, so this I am most gutted about. Unfortunately I will not be recommending this beautiful cottage based on the above.

Second visit to this fabulously cosy cottage. Super warm without having to use the upstairs radiators as new log burner worked a treat. Cottage contains all you would need for cooking or baking and facilities for evenings enjoyed catching up on films etc, or playing cards and board games. If you enjoy walking, don't look for another place to stay; lots of places accessible without using the car. The coastal walks are stunning in any weather. Do walk to the dog friendly Geevor Mine café, for a fabulous choice of breakfasts and lunches, and The Queen's arms is 2 minutes on foot for a friendly welcoming meal or quiz night on Thursdays. We highly recommend a stay at Crown Mine Cottage and will be back to stay soon. Thank you for sharing it.
