What our customers say about their holidays
Robin - Verified booking
In short, the owners need to inject some time, and cash into lighting, heating, plumbing and cleaning!
The property has the potential to offer a large family a fantastic place to stay however, it sadly requires a lot of modernisation, and deep cleaning. Replacing the lighting along the outside steps should be considered a priority! The installation of a few solar lights is a simple, relatively cheap solution for both safety and security. Simply stating that âmore than one torch is recommendedâ, should not be acceptable of any let. The property smells very damp/musty and there are only a few of the night storage heaters that actually work. The heating system needs replacing or repairing at the very least. There is a lovely wood burning stove in the large lounge that had not been cleaned out when we arrived and wood was not supplied. Therefore, you have to practically pay to heat the place by way of supplying your own wood, and whilst it put in a good effort, the small storage heater in the lounge does not suffice. A small bag of wood would have been a nice touch as indeed would a welcome pack of basics, e.g, milk, bread as offered by the majority of holiday lets. The plumbing is very noisy, in particular the toilets which are sani flow systems. The hot water, when it arrived was incredibly hot and as a result it is quite limited and takes ages to reheat. There really should be a warning about this to avoid scolding injuries. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of crockery and utensils, and all of the white goods were clean and in good working order. There is plenty of bedding (all of which looked and smelled freshly laundered) in the dreary looking downstairs bedroom. As is with most of the property, this room looks like it hasnât been decorated for years. The bed and pillows seriously need replacing. Both the mattress and pillows are very old, lumpy and badly stained! Very disappointed with the lack of towels! There was one bath towel each and a small hand towel to share! I had to phone customer services to request clean towels only for a cleaner to arrive late in the day with two small hand towels! There is a large back garden accessed from both the side and rear off the property. Whilst the garden is somewhat enclosed, it is not completely secure as there is no gate to prevent pets escaping. To list all of the issues would take far too long and whilst there are many more I wish to end on a positive, chiefly that the property is situated in a fantastic position for exploring the Dorset coast and is in close walking proximity to a fabulous pub âThe Smuggler's Innâ.

A lovely little property, well designed and in a quiet corner of Weymouth yet close to the local attractions and facilities.
We found beds comfortable. On-property parking is a major benefit. Instruction manual well written (though note comment below regarding TV operation). Wi-fi worked as it should. Unclear how to manage recyclables vs other rubbish. On arrival the property was clean, well equipped and with minimal consumables in place. Made a great place for 3 people to stay for a few days (six would possibly find it cramped). Note: the less mobile need to be aware that the property is spread over 3 floors. However, with the vastly inflated prices being charged for such properties at the moment (even out of season) I don't think it would be unreasonable for issues previously noted in reviews to be attended to during the low season. The en-suite shower cubicle still needs a deep clean (or, better still, regrouting). Bathrooms need locks. Taps (notably in en-suite) are stiff and possibly failing with low flow. Cloakroom needs a towel. Trying to operate the TV is a nightmare (instructions in notes are minimal and inaccurate). Further, showers cannot be taken in the main bathroom (no screens and a carpeted floor). Most people take showers most days so for 3 this was a push and 6 would be a real challenge in the single en-suite shower! Several areas of paintwork need minor attention where previous repairs have not been properly redecorated. Edging to shoe rack in hall coming loose (refix before it is broken). Oh and thos ekey safes which are widely used are very poor - code can be set correctly but still difficult to open as there is no handle; does anyone make a well designed one? A second set of keys was appreciated though. The above is mostly offered as constructive criticism for the owner but the grouting issue is old and has not been addressed. We'd happily revisit if the inflated price is addressed out of season (and would probably result in fewer voids for the owner too).

The house was ok - as expected.
Near the beach/near to town and a small convenience store within walking distance. It was clean, warm and tidy although did feel quite small with 5 of us staying (2 adults and 3 children). There was adequate storage space for clothing and luggage was stored in a cupboard downstairs. Internet was good quality and tv had freesat. Basic cleaning gear supplied but nothing to clean kitchen or bathrooms with - surely it wont break the bank to provide a toilet cleaning liquid and something for the bathrooms/showers etc. Only 4 things to comment on: 1. The house is on 3 levels, be aware if you have trouble with stairs. 2. The mattresses in all bedrooms are thin and the cheapest quality but especially the bunk bed rooms; my children (8 and 5 ) complained about the springs poking through. The 2 singles were not much better. I often think less of owners who pay lip service to comfort and think as long as there are mattresses on a bed, they have done their duty. Anyone over 25kg could not sleep on the mattresses provided. 3. There was also a missing blind in the kitchen which did affect privacy and which I called Dream cottages about. A week into my stay a replacement blind was dropped off but never fitted - despite me staying an additional 9 days after delivery. 4. The TV in the lounge is too small for the size of the house and again, given the price charged, feel a bigger TV would be justified.

Thought you might also be interested in some feedback on the apartment.
Overall we found it to be very well appointed and liked the space / the facilities / the heating and the individual bathrooms. It was clean and tidy and very well situated and one can see a lot of thought and care has gone into the place. I must however mention a few things which need attention and which otherwise donât represent the high quality as follows: 1. Mattresses. They are the thinnest and cheapest mattresses. Extremely low quality and extremely uncomfortable; offering little comfort. Even my kids complained about this whereas my wife and struggled to get a good sleep. For a property of this quality I would expect a higher grade of mattress 2. â the dining table seats. they offer no padding. As soon as one sits on them one immediately settles into the wooden seat frame; i.e., the padding is non existent. For such an otherwise impeccably appointed property, I would say these 2 items were unexpected and the owner would do well to address them. 3. â last the internet seemed to be very slow. Perhaps it was because we were 6 but even when I was up at 4AM doing my calls and Teams meetings I was quite often experiencing interruptions and disconnections. Anyway just some feedback which I hope will be constructively received - overall we enjoyed the place and would be delighted to come back if the issues could be looked at!

Great accommodation in a superb location.
The space in this apartment is amazing and all the bedrooms and bathrooms are huge. Lots of space for 6 adults. A very modern and enjoyable space and all right in the heart of Weymouth. Nikki did a great job of making our arrival efficient with a spotlessly clean and tidy apartment waiting for us. We were made aware of an issue prior to our arrival and this was resolved as soon as practicable. Being a top floor apartment it could get quite warm and the restricted window opening is totally understandable but fans were provided for each bedroom. All the facilities worked including dishwasher, washing machine and dryer which meant to didnât have to bring too much luggage. Whilst the stairs to the top floor was known it was a struggle for one of our party so maybe we will try for apartment 2 on the middle floor next time. In terms of stairs and a better view. If I had to pick any faults then the pans in the kitchen need replacing as they have reached the end of their life as the non stick coating comes off into anything cooked in them. (We only used once so not a huge issue as plenty of places to eat out on your doorstep). Thank you for a great stay.
