What our customers say about their holidays

The caravan itself is very nice however the following let our stay down 1) We arrived late on the Friday and went straight out shopping.
Upon returning during unpacking we realised the caravan had not been cleaned. Towels on floor, bedding stained, bathroom dirty and generally dirty. It was too late to report to Sykes. We ended up sleeping on fleeces and in our clothes. Not what you expect when paying over £700!!! We were compensated but that's not the point. The next day when the cleaner arrived she admitted to missing it on the Friday!!! 2) On the Tuesday the main TV free view stopped working saying no signal. The owner did send instructions which didn't work and then the site manager came round, to try and fix it to no joy. The owner arranged for someone called Billy to ring us, however as it was 9.30pm I didn't answer. He sent me a message asking to turn off at mains and leave off overnight. I was to ring him the next day however I didn't due to my next point. 3) There is a very busy main road near the site and the caravan is very close to it. The caravan is noisy even through the night. I am partially deaf and I could still hear it!! I would like to say though that the owner did everything she could to help us. However I would not return.

We had a lovely stay at Hildaâs Retreat.
The location is a short walk to the harbour and the south side one way and the other way takes you to the large Tesco. The boys loved the three story property and had no problems running up and down all the stairs to bring things down for us that we needed to save our legs! Parking is with a permit and we couldnât always park outside the property but always got a space in the allowable area. The dining table allowed the family to gather together for meals and seated us all (unlike some properties we have stayed in who sleep 6, but the table is only for 4 with two extra chairs put at both ends!) We did a mixture of eating out and cooking and the kitchen is well equipped. The welcome pack is a lovely addition although Iâm sure the boys snaffled some of the contents before I got the see all that was in it! The owner was always easy to contact by text when I had some queries. Would stay here again and would recommend to friends and family!

We had a great stay at Belvedere House.
The place was very clean and comfortably furnished, the kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need if cooking meals and the bed in the main bedroom very comfortable, with lovely fluffy towels. Plenty of parking and a large enclosed garden were a bonus too. The only negative was the very late arrival time of 5pm, rather than 4pm at most other properties we have stayed at. The area was very quiet and the house had sea views from the bedrooms. It was an easy 30 min walk along the sea front to the town and good coffee at the Leisure Centre. We recommend the coast path walk to Fraisthorpe and the Cowshed tearoom there. Similarly, Bridlington old town is worth a visit as is the Bayle Museum and Georgian Tearooms close by. We would definitely recommend Belvedere House to friends.

We have recently returned from a weeks holiday staying at Hilda's Retreat.
The accommodation was first class meeting all our needs. The house is very spacious, well decorated and very clean. The lounge has 2 large settees which are extremely comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped with ample utensils and crockery. There was a very generous welcome pack which was much appreciated. The bed in the main bedroom was so comfortable, some of the best nights sleep we have had in a long time. Shower facilties are ideal. The loction was perfect for us, 5 minutes walk to the harbour or Spa and Tesco supermarket just across the road at the end of the street about 10 minutes walk. Catherine, the owner, organised the parking permits which worked very well for us. We will definitely return very soon

Excellent location, the one-bedroom apartment spacious enough to feel relaxed and comfortable there.
Enjoyed being able to breakfast looking out to the sea. Appreciated having decently supplied kitchen crockery and utensils available, although we didnât cook meals there. Similarly a good sized bedroom at the back and an adequate bathroom. In essence we enjoyed our time here. Nb: The only small issue we had with the property was with the placing of the bathroom cabinet, it was set too low above the washbasin to avoid banging your head when cleaning your teeth. Major security issue for owner and agency: someone kept the front door propped open with the fire extinguisher every day, despite us removing it. This was a concern as it meant the property was open to anyone passing by .
