  The property was just as shown on the website and every bit as clean and spacious. We were very pleased with the property and the attention provided by Rhodri. The property was in excellent condition and we will be recommending Pen Dinas to our friends when travelling to Cardiff. I came upon Best of Wales by chance as I was looking to book Pen Dinas through another website. Once on Best of Wales I was very impressed with the layout and ease of use. The information available was also impressive, it made me completely comfortable with booking my accommodations. Once I booked the correspondence that followed was nothing short of excellent. Everything that I needed was included in several emails, there was an issue with my dates but that was quickly rectified. We actually drove over from London and was a little concerned about the key collection but we reached out to Rhodri who graciously allowed my son to collect the keys in advance to avoid any issues in case we were delayed. It was an overall wonderful trip made that much better by our experience with Best of Wales and the owner Rhodri. Pen Dinas was everything the website said it would be, it provided all the comforts of home and made our vacation that much more enjoyable. The location was great with a very nice breakfast/coffee spot just downstairs on the corner. Rhodri was an excellent host who responded promptly to all our needs. If available I will be booking for my next trip to Cardiff

  Summer break with two teenage daughters. House is in a great location - Pontcanna shops, restaurants and pubs literally round the corner. Easy walk to local parks and access to the Taff trail for a flat mainly road free bike ride to Cardiff centre or north towards Castell Coch, a little less flat... Great base to explore from - Brecon Beacons National Park and the Four Falls walk about an hour away by car (go early before the car parks are full), walk along the barrage from Cardiff Bay to Penarth for fish and chips on the pier, self drive boat trip round the Bay, walk by the river through Bute Park to town. Personal welcome on arrival from Rhodri who was on hand throughout our stay. House is pristine, great use of space, open plan, airy, modern decor, comfy beds, fluffy towels and small back garden. Nice extra touches - coffee machine with pods supplied, earl grey teabags (!) and kitchen/bathroom essentials provided (salt, pepper, oil, kitchen roll, tea towels, dishwasher tabs, loo roll etc). We stayed in Covid times, lots of extra cleaning products supplied plus hand gel and liquid soap. Absolutely no hesitation recommending Pontcanna Mews and would happily return if we venture to Cardiff again.

  We were extremely pleased with our stay at the Laurels flat.

  We were warmly greeted by our host, Julie, who was happy to help with making sure our stay was enjoyable. The accommodation was first class, and had everything that we needed. The living/sleeping room was light and specious (with a special shout out for the amazingly huge and comfy bed!) The kitchen was roomy and well equipped with everything we need for our weeks stay, and the shower room brand new with plenty of towels etc. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. As with most properties, when quiet, it was sometimes possible to hear other residents walking around above or running water, but this did not disturb us. An important plus is the flat's position as it is so convenient for travelling into Cardiff, or travelling further afield - perfect for all major routes. The wonderful St Fagans museum is literally a few steps away. Although situated next to a busy road, we were not affected by traffic noise at all. We will definitely be looking to book again when we are next in South Wales. All-round, an excellent gem of a find on Sykes' page, and well recommended.

  This cottage was just perfect for us. It is so clean, comfortable and well laid-out. There is everything you need in a smaller cottage. The coffee-maker was a massive bonus as I love a cup of nice coffee in the morning, sitting outside in the lovely little garden-area. The house is tucked away in the corner of a small-Mews development in a prestigious area on the outskirts of Cardiff. Pontcanna is really lovely with lots of lovely bakeries, bars and coffee-shops. There are excellent restaurants too. There is also two co-op supermarkets within easy walking distance, parks, and other tourist attractions, right on the doorstep. We visited Cardiff Bay, which is so vibrant and full of restaurants, bars and of course, the Millenium Centre. We only stayed for 3 nights and wished we had stayed longer, as there is so much to choose from. I thoroughly recommend this lovely place. We had a lovely time and would love to return at some point.

  I had a really wonderful 5 days in Pontcanna in Cardiff, staying in this conveniently located and beautifully renovated mews house. It’s not easy finding a good rental so well located in this city. Owner Rhodri was courteous and responded rapidly to a few questions I had by text. The parking space was fine for my small car, could be tricky to get in and out with a large car. Lots of attention to detail, leaflets and maps with local info and sights, well equipped kitchen. Nespresso machine and cafetière for those who need their coffee first thing. There is a well-stocked Coop around the corner open late, and lots of lovely independent bakeries and cafes nearby. Frequent buses from Canton or Llandaff Fields to get to the town centre or Cardiff Bay (buy individual or family tickets on the Cardiff Bus app). I grew up in Cardiff and it was a pleasure to rediscover this amazing city with my family.
