What our customers say about their holidays
Robert - Verified booking
A beautifully presented and decorated cottage which abounded with spider's webs (something we are familiar with, living in the country).
The standard of cleanliness was adequate apart from a large spider's web in the bath and one of the toilets that hadn't been flushed properly. The cottage was very comfortable but, on a personal note, was immediately adjacent to a busy main road. Fortunately the weather was very cool as we felt the traffic noise was too loud to open the windows. We declined to use the hot tub or sit outside for the self same reasons. There is parking for two cars but when guests are staying in the adjacent cottage, which has parking for one car, and have parked badly it proved impossible to get to park our second car. The private car park for the properties is approached through a car park of a restaurant/gift shop and again this proved difficult at times to gain access to the car park for the cottage. I must stress that the adverse comments are personal to us since we live in a country lane and the only noises we hear at night are the barking of deer and being occasionally 'buzzed' by low flying Chinook helicopters. There is plenty to do in the area and much to explore.

First thing to say the views from the decking at the rear of the house are gorgeous, the sun rises were glorious and seeing the dolphins leaping was a treat. The house was impeccably clean with all the equipment you could wish for. Although on the main road going to the town/beach etc it's not overly busy so did not disturb sleep and was approx 20 minute walk down the hill to the waterfront. For convenience there is a Costcutter shop close to the house which is well stocked for essentials and a large safe car park slightly further on. There is no direct parking at the house but there is space outside to unload/load your car. The only real downside of the house but can't be helped due to the age of the property is the amount of steps internally, the stairs are quite narrow, curved and have uneven level of steps at the top, only a problem if you are a bit unsteady on your feet. We had a wonderful stay with many an hour playing games, eating meals and gazing at the sea views. We would visit again.

Perfect small retreat for two with a dog, direct access to coastal path, half hour walk to Llangrannog with good pubs which serve decent food which overlook the lovely sandy beach.
There is a secluded sandy beach close by called Traeth Bach with a steep climb down but worth the descent! A little scrambling is required, not for the faint hearted. Very warm welcome from the owner Mandy, who was very accommodating. We stayed for 2 nights over the Easter break. The cottage has a small garden to the side, you also have use of a larger picnic area which is again great for letting the dog have a run around. The cottage has everything you will need, itâs very clean and modern with open plan to lounge and kitchen. It has 1 double bedroom with separate shower room with W/C which again is modern and tiled to a nice standard. There were some lovely touches tea and coffee sachets, shower gel and toilet rolls .. lovely in a self catering cottage and a lovely welcome card too! We will certainly return in the future and wouldnât hesitate to recommend to other couples who enjoy walking. Alan & Nikki Potter

We had a wonderful few days here at Elvor. The cottage is very well equipped with wonderful sea views and an enclosed garden (sun trap). Everything you could need was at the cottage. It was very clean too. We had one really cold day, so the log burner was lovely. The town of New Quay is one of the friendliest and unspoilt places (and dog friendly) and we were made to feel part of the community despite only being on holiday. Lime crab is a must for fish and chips (and crab taco). The Pepper pot is also a lovely place to eat, and the quiz night in the Seahorse pub hilarious. That is one super friendly pub. A wonderful stroll down to the beach on the left of property is wonderful and the beach just gorgeous…we did it at sunrise a few days. I would recommend Elvor and New Quay as a fab place to spend a few days. We will be back.

Onnen is a lovely looking property in a great location for exploring the area around Aberystwyth which has forests, beaches, dunes and hills. With less light pollution you can see the stars really well at night too. Pros include the setting and a high spec property. Cons were small niggles really; the pod coffee machine did not work, there was no ice tray, drainer or brush for washing up (though there is a dishwasher anyway) and there is no drawer storage in the bedrooms, just hanging space. Also, the hot tub temp was locked at 37 degrees which wasn't quite optimal for me. We would really have appreciated a shade on the bedroom skylights also. Too bright in the early morning!
