  We stayed for three nights in this very comfortable, spacious and well-equipped srcond-floor flat on two floors, just minutes walk away from the Swing Bridge and close to the railway and bus stations. There's a great view across to the church and ruined abbey from the lounge and master bedroom. All of the fixtures and fittings are of good quality and the furniture is comfortable and sufficient for 6 people. With three loos and two bathrooms there were no queues for the five who were staying and everywhere in the flat was clean and in good order. The kitchen is well laid-out and very well-equipped, with induction hob, oven and microwave in addition to dishwasher & large fridge/freezer. Include smart TV and TV in each room, Sky for the poor signal and a good strong wifi signal across the flat and you'll find you'll not be wanting for much. Finally, the secure underground car park is an absolute boon, as anyone who has tried to park in Whitby would appreciate. We visit Whitby at the same time every year to work & perform at a local music festival, this is the first time we've all agreed - this is the venue for our accommodation in 2025.

  We were disappointed with the safety and security at the rear of the property.

  The back bedroom window would not close as the handle was broken. On top of that the window opened fully and had no safety device to prevent anyone (especially children) falling out. We text the owner upon arrival and expressed our concerns, initially we were ignored and the 2nd text she responded saying it would not be repaired for 3 weeks. We have two young children that were sleeping in that room and we had to make a temporary fix in an attempt to prevent any accidents or break ins. As a Mother concerned with the safety of our children I did not sleep well whilst there so therefore did not fully enjoy my stay at Whitby due to tiredness and anxiety. I feel owners need to respond to their guests promptly and carry out repair work swiftly especially when it comes to safety of their guests and their property. We certainly have, due to Covid paid well over the odds for a holiday this year which as I stated earlier I could not enjoy fully due to the owner failing to maintain their property.

  Very spacious luxurious apartment with everything we needed for our stay.

  Comfy beds with crisp attractive bedding, loads of storage, drawers and wardrobes. Plenty of thick towels and toiletries were also a helpful addition. There was plenty of stylish crockery, cutlery, glasses and pans for self catering in a spacious modern equipped kitchen. Pedestal fans were very welcome during our stay in the heatwave. It was also a nice touch to be welcomed with a few essentials of bread, milk, jam, butter, choccy biccies and ice in the freezer. The apartment is right on the main street so very near a convenience store, cafes, kebab/pizza and Indian takeaway, a couple of good pubs and some really lovely independent shops and galleries and a fab pancake and waffle cafe. Pateley bridge had a brilliant playground for our kids to let off some steam and is a great base for exploring North Yorkshire. Would recommend.

  On the positive, the apartment was very clean and tidy, and very spacious.

  The kitchen was well equipped, and the utility room was appreciated. On the negative, the radiator (which wouldn't turn off) on the entrance wasn't appreciated as the heat was unbearable - especially with the hot weather. The double bed and the twin beds were very uncomfortable. The en-suite shower and bath in the large bedroom were abysmal - the shower was useless - no water pressure, and the bath took far too long to fill (again no water pressure). The first-floor shower was also poor regarding the poor water pressure. Overall, for a £800 plus holiday apartment for one week, one would have expected much better. Also, if you are expecting a quiet holiday... be warned. The heavy traffic on the main road outside is very noisy with motorbikes and heavy vehicles passing regularly.

  The apartment overall is lovely and in a great location however there are a few minor maintenance niggles that prevented this from being a full 5 star feedback.

  1) The window in the rear bedroom needs fixing to address the seal around the opener. It was whistling loudly from the wind when we arrived. £5 worth of blutack to seal the window fixed it for our stay. 2) The shower head in the shower room is in desperate need of cleaning / replacing. 3) There is a very small leak in the toilet in the shower room. Either at the bas of the bowl or the waste pipe joint at the rear. 4) There is very limited space for clothes storage in the second bedroom. We had to store almost everything in the main bedrooms wardrobe. 5) A proper pair of oven gloves wouldn't go amiss rather than the heatproof pads provided. In summary, if the above were addressed then we would stay again. The second bedroom let's the property down a little
