  This property saved our annual family holiday. We had our booked property cancelled a day before travelling so needed somewhere to stay in the Lowestoft area. We definitely got lucky with this choice. We rented the main house and basement apartment for a multigenerational family group of 15. Both properties were spotless, well equipped and incredibly comfortable. The first floor front lounge had incredible views out to sea, as did several of the bedrooms. The kitchen/ dining room became the hub of our stay- the kitchen was well equipped to cope with cooking for a large group. Bedrooms were all very comfortable and much sleep was had, despite the short lived dawn chorus from the seagulls in the area. Location of the property is great. Easy access to the south beach, or a stroll along the prom to the harbour and beyond. The cafe opposite serves good lunchtime food and the putting green next to that was well used by our group. From this base you have easy access (although not quick access- nothing seems to move quickly around this part of the country) to Southwold, Framlingham and other great Suffolk locations to the south, or the Broads or Norwich to the north. Plenty of good pubs outside the town make finding somewhere to eat easy. This is a great place to stay for large gatherings.

  Very highly recommended. We took over both the house and flat for a mixed family party of a dozen at the end of July and it was absolutely ideal. A fine house with well-maintained public gardens in front followed by a wide car-free promenade and an excellent sandy, clean and supervised beach. We used the public tennis courts which are only seven minutes walk away. The house was spotlessly clean and very well-equipped with kitchen and dining utensils together with a utility room with washing machine. Beds very comfortable. There are two sitting rooms on the first floor which we hardly used as the weather was so good. At the back is a patio and small, but pleasant and useful garden with three dedicated parking places behind (and free on-street parking at the front if you are lucky, which I was). The stairs might be a challenge to a less-able person - this is a mid 19th century house with high ceilings. Kirkley is definitely the best part of Lowestoft and behind the house is a very useful small High Street with shops selling everything you might need in a hurry. The composer, Benjamin Britten, was born in a house a few doors up the hill. The owners communicate very helpfully and unobtrusively.

  We had a fabulous week in Walberswick with our family, the holiday home was all we could wish for and the village and coast were as magical as ever. Lots of wonderful memories made for young and old. Ferrins is a delightful home, there is much more to it than appears at first glance. It is spotlessly clean and well equipped with many thoughtful touches showing how much the owners love the house themselves. It is furnished and decorated with superb taste, certainly no second hand rubbish in this home. There are plenty of comfortable seating areas both inside and out with a lovely garden with spacious playing areas. The kitchen has two fridges as well as a freezer and two ovens which was very welcome for a large group. An added bonus is the garage room with table tennis and air hockey which gave opportunity for family games. It is only a short walk to the village green or beach, but a shorter walk to the village store and the deli/bakery. There is also plenty of parking which is rare in Walberswick. It is a gem of a house for a family break in a wonderfully classic coastal village. We have stayed in quite a few houses here and this is by far the best.

  This is an amazing property which we very much hope to revisit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and found that this house had everything we could possible need, a real home from home. The grounds surrounding the house, both back and front are beautiful and every window has a wonderful view. Although dogs are allowed at this property the extensive grounds are not totally secure and there is the possibility that dogs could easily find a way to escape, this may be worth noting if you have an adventurous pet. The location of this property is ideal being just a few minutes drive from the centre of Aldeburgh. There is also the bird reserve within a few minutes walking distance and this has lots of footpaths to explore. The peace and quiet to be found at this house was much appreciated at the time of our visit.

  Lovely house and garden.

  We had a great time - were very lucky with the weather. Despite not being the fastest walkers, we think it is a little closer to the sea than described (a good thing). Comfortable sitting room and beds. Good kitchen equipment and for once decent frying pans. We struggled a bit with the freezer - the top drawer didn't shut properly (some ice) and then iced up worse. I think it needs defrosting. I booked Long View as the right size, had a garden and upstairs and downstairs toilets - the listing could describe the upstairs shower room better as it is a very good shower. Loved the welcome pack - unadvertised and really good coffee. I would definitely recommend this house. But probably more suitable for 5 than 6 - the second double room is very small.
