  The Mill House is spacious. High vaulted ceiling in the living area. Smart TV on higher level seating area. Lots of sofa space and seats around the long dining table. Well equipped kitchen but lacking storage space for food! Good size fridge freezer. Bedrooms are spacious with drawers and wardrobes .... The Mill House is spacious. High vaulted ceiling in the living area. Smart TV on higher level seating area. Lots of sofa space and seats around the long dining table. Well equipped kitchen but lacking storage space for food! Good size fridge freezer. Bedrooms are spacious with drawers and wardrobes in the double rooms and drawers in the twin tooms. Powerful showers. Plenty of clean towels for everyone. Parking space for 3 cars just by the gate. The views from the garden to the fields and sea, through the gap in the hedgerow, are beautiful. The gardens are secure for medium/large size dogs. Small dogs may slip through bars in the gate or under gate. Watch the gates are closed when first letting dogs out as they were left open on occasion by somebody working on the farm. Direct access to the farm fields beyond the top garden tier. Once up the hill, the views of open meadows, woods, deer in the distance and Wales across the Bristol Channel are breathtaking. Access to many footpaths going in all directions. We walked to the beach from the farm but it's quite a trek down a steep, wooded footpath. The beach is beautiful with lots of large boulders and stones, not sandy. There is a lovely waterfall running from the valley stream directly onto the beach. Lots of interesting villages to explore wihin 30 mins drive. Beautiful valley walks nearby. We were sad to leave and our dogs had an amazing holiday too.

  By Steven E on 24-May-2018 Lovely House - perfect for big families. Stayed at Knowles House with 5 other family members including elderly parents and a dog. Wonderful house with a terrific garden. Weather was perfect and garden was superb for chilling, sunbathing or even Yoga. Met by the owners who gave us a guided tour and explained everything we needed to know from the heating to the recycling. Lovely clean bedrooms with a twin on the ground floor with its own small lounge area perfect for the elderly who have difficulty with stairs. Layout of the kitchen with the cookers and crockery, separate sink room and a third utility room with large fridge and freezers take some getting used to but no big deal. There’s a standard cooker / low level grill if your not confident with using the Aga. Big flat screen TV in the lounge and plenty of small ones in the bedrooms if your that desperate to watch TV. Showers in the bedrooms were very good and we had no issues with hot water no matter what the time of day. Lovely walk for dog walkers alongside local river one minute from the house. Journeys out to local coastal towns didn’t take long in a car. Make your own mind up about the best ones to visit - we liked Beer but won’t be rushing back to Seaton! Lovely coastal walks between Seaton and Branscombe. Took a local taxi (The very helpful Bert from Seaton Taxi’s who took all 6 of us+ Dog) to the Ship Inn at Axmouth for a couple of evening meals - Quality food, highly recommended - make sure you book.   This is an ideal place to stay for a family get together. Six adults and four children had plenty of room, the mill is very well stocked with everything you need for a self catering holiday. We arranged a Tesco grocery delivery and there was plenty of room in fridge/freezer and cupboards for all o.... This is an ideal place to stay for a family get together. Six adults and four children had plenty of room, the mill is very well stocked with everything you need for a self catering holiday. We arranged a Tesco grocery delivery and there was plenty of room in fridge/freezer and cupboards for all our supplies. There's plenty of crockery, pots, pans, casserole dishes etc., can't think of anything that was missing at all. The owner was very helpful and is on hand if you need anything at all. The accommodation is quite remote and down a narrow road, fortunately we didn't encounter a car coming in the opposite direction as there are only a couple of passing places. We had an excellent week and would recommend this as a good base to explore the area. We really liked Lynton and Lynmouth, some really nice places for any time of the day for food, a couple of nice pubs, and an excellent fish and chip shop down by the harbour that has an inside seating area. There's also plenty of rock pools to explore. Woolacombe is about 50minutes drive and has everything you need for a beach day, as does Croyde which is just along the coast. Ilfracombe Tunnel Beaches are good for an overcast day with plenty of rock pools to explore (there is an entrance fee)

  Yenworthy Mill is a fabulous place to stay with the family. Nice and remote, beautiful scenery, proper peace and quiet. Nice to have separate bedrooms for our 3 kids. The house was clean and tidy, everything was easy to find. Couple of small things would make it even better; - More, smaller sauce .... Yenworthy Mill is a fabulous place to stay with the family. Couple of small things would make it even better; - More, smaller sauce pans - The upstairs living room floor needs de-squeaking - Would be amazing if there was one or more decent windows looking out at the views. We had a few moments where it was beautiful outside but it was hard to tell from inside. Understand that there may be structural or cost restrictions though. Not to complain though, we loved the house and would stay again in a heartbeat. Might be useful for others to know that we had Sainsburys (other grocery providers are available) deliver to us on day one to save having to do a shop. Would recommend Exmoor Adventures archery, all 5 of us enjoyed that, and riding with Brendon Manor was a hit with our horse lovers too. Thank you!

  Set in beautiful countryside on a working farm, the mill is an idyllic place for a group get-together. The accommodation is spacious with a kitchen and living area on the ground floor, a mezzanine floor upstairs offers another area for relaxation or TV. The bedrooms are on two separate floors, 2 b.... Set in beautiful countryside on a working farm, the mill is an idyllic place for a group get-together. The accommodation is spacious with a kitchen and living area on the ground floor, a mezzanine floor upstairs offers another area for relaxation or TV. The bedrooms are on two separate floors, 2 bedrooms (one en suite) downstairs and 2 on an upper floor with a bathroom. The kitchen is well stocked with crockery, cutlery, and pots and pans. Add to this good quality cooker, 2 ovens, microwave, dishwasher and it is perfect for cooking and catering for the 10 people it accommodates. The owners are on hand if you need them and are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this property for walkers, or just a place to chill in peace and quiet. Porlock is a short drive one way and Lynmouth the other. But you could just wander all day on the farm and down the valley to the sea.
