  Such a lovely cottage. Perfect for our young family. Very relaxing, homely and peaceful. We absolutely loved our stay here. Appreciated the little extra child friendly touches little step stool so little ones can reach the sink and wash their hands independently, children's cutlery, plastic cups and Tupperware which was handy for lunchboxes. Also there is a stair gate on the twin bedroom (top of stairs) which gave me massive peace of mind for wandering children in the night! Kitchen was well equipped with everything we could possibly need. We also made use of some shopping bags/clothes airer and heater we found in the understairs cupboard. It’s so peaceful in St Teath we all slept really, really well. Beds were the comfiest I have slept in. We visited lots of places in cornwall and Shillingstones was the perfect base to return to every evening. Local pub did absolutely amazing food as well! Honestly could not find one fault with our holiday cottage. Absolutely perfect. Oh and Dog friendly too ❤️

  the cottage needs a thorough renovation, de kitchen is rundown, some doors of closets won't close, some of the cutlerie wasn't clean, there is no dishwasher, the washingmachine makes a lot of noise, in de bathroom some tiles are broken, the joints between the tiles are cracked and dirty, there are a lot of stains in the carpets througout the house, the chairs in de diningroom are full of staines, the couches are rundown and sagging, the traffic on the road is very loud, 24/7, stripes on the wall beside the stairs, the garden is overgrown, the gardenchairs and table have seen better days, de shed is a dump, dampspots on the wall of the bathroom. 2 stars, max, not 4 stars. Most importantly however is that the cottage was nog clean at all. It hadn't been vacumed for months, dustbunnies everywhere, windows were not clean. Very disappointing. Only positive is the 2 minute walk to the centre of Canterbury.

  Frog House is beautiful abd well equiped, but very small and on a very steep hill. There is no garden whatsoever so it is NOT at all suitable for people with even well behaved dogs to stay in as there is nowhere safe for dogs to be let out without a lead for even a few minutes. There is only.one door which leads out to the stated patio, which is definitely not a patio, but a very, very small area with a few flower pots and small bench for two people to sit on, and it leads directly out onto the steep lane. Also the alloted car parking space opposite this tiny area is difficult to manoevre into for anyone driving even an average size car. I beleive these things should be made clear in the description as had they been we wouldn't have considered booking it.

  House could have done with a few more toilet rolls! One per toilet seemed a little stingy and maybe some basic products to protect their cooking equipment, ie oil, we decided not to fry our bacon on realising we hadn't bought oil but other people might just try to cook without and it'll end up damaging their equipment. And grass needed mowing as it was too long for our 1 year old to play in and would have been difficult for us to pick dog mess out of if wed let the dog ise it instead, so we couldnt use the garden at all. We would have mown the lawn ourselves but there wasnt a mower. very minor things but they would have made it a 10/10 holiday not a 9.5/10 holiday

  I would love to give this property a good review. The location is lovely with easy access to the North Pennines and Hadrian's wall, and the North Lakes and Solway coast a short drive away. The owners are friendly and the property is comfortable. But there are so many defects in the equipment that I cannot recommend. I have given the owners a list, but several of these problems have been mentioned in previous reviews this year. To describe the property as having an enclosed garden is not correct, and the private patio is actually in the car park. There are lots of places nearby to walk dogs, but no enclosed area at the cottage itself.
