What our customers say about their holidays

We had a great stay at 16 Ocean Heights.
The location of the house was good and we didn't need to use the car at all during our stay. The beds were really comfy and the kitchen well equipped. Could do with a full sized dishwasher for 6 guests as we were having to put it on couple of times a day. The house was cleaned to a good standard. Areas to improve on: the wheelie bin was overflowing when we arrived and the seagulls made a right mess of it. This should have been removed before we checked in and wasn't very nice to have to deal with, but was sorted quickly when we called up the agents. There is still a slight drains smell from the downstairs toilet, but we left the extractor fan on and it was not very noticable. Certain areas needed some maintenace (paint peeling off the ceiling in en-suite shower, weeding in the back garden, rust on radiator in downstairs toilet). I would recommend this house and would stay there again as none of these things had a negative imapct on our stay. It was good value for money in a very overpriced area.

I read the reviews when I booked this property and they were good.
I then read them about two weeks before I went there were a couple of reviews stating there was a terrible smell in the house. Weâll we walked in and straight away we were greeted with a combination of damp and sewerage and air fresheners obviously trying to mask the smell. The shower leaks. The windows on the front of the building have been leaking for quite some time the windowsills are expanding due to absorbing the rain water and the carpet was wet on the front first floor bedroom and was probably contributing to the smell. The downstairs toilet stinks of sewerage. The pans in the kitchen are not fit for purpose. I was informed the week before I went that the dishwasher was broken and it would be replaced while we were there it wasnât . So we were not able to use that facility. Very unhappy that I paid over £1000. Complained and was basically told because I didnât report it whilst there they were not able to sort the issues so they were not going to do anything.

When we arrived the property had a really musty smell especially downstairs, we assumed it had not been used for some time.
There was no visitors book so we didn't know when it was last occupied. We were able to leave the front doors open when we were in the property as the weather was good and this resolved the issue for us. There was a folder from Coast and Country but very little about the house. We worked out the wall heater in the lounge that we needed to use a couple of times. Plenty of hot water but again nothing to tell us there would be, timings etc. Unusually for a property, nothing to tell us what to do with rubbish, re cycling etc. We found the site bins at the opposite end of the building to where we were parked by chance and then found the key for them in the dining end of the lounge. We were then able to put our recycling and rubbish in the appropriate bins. The bed was comfortable. Thank you for the welcome pack.

Beyond the property itself, we absolutely loved Bluefin's prime location. Being so close to the heart of Salcombe meant we could easily explore the charming town, with its delightful shops, cafes, and restaurants, all just a short stroll away. The proximity to the waterfront allowed us to enjoy spontaneous boat trips and seaside walks, making our stay even more memorable. What we found most enchanting about Bluefin were the absolutely stunning views. From the moment you wake up to the moment you retire for the night, you are treated to panoramic vistas that stretch across the azure waters of the Salcombe estuary. The large windows in the living area perfectly frame these breathtaking scenes, making it feel as though the beauty of the coast is an extension of the indoor space.

Although we had a lovely week at the house and itâs in a good position (7 minutes walk to the beach) with beautiful views Iâd just like to report that the house does need a good clean and sort out.
The oven was filthy along with the kitchen bin. The kitchen drainer doesnât drain and was filthy in the drainer outlet and the plug in the kitchen sink doesnât work either. The scissors were broken and the cafetière had no filter top. The drawers in the kitchen and living room are filled with random rubbish, leaving no space to store anything. There was mould on the skirting board in the downstairs bedroom and widows in the main bedroom. The air drier was cheap and inadequate and kept falling over and was not fit for purpose especially as itâs a house for six people. The lock on the upstairs main bathroom didnt work. Also the carpets do need a good Clean, there is a little vacuum but it wasnât really strong enough for the carpets.
