What our customers say about their holidays
Mrs Leah - Verified booking
Devon We stayed at the apartment after Easter. Sadly, it was extremely wet and windy which was a shame. On arrival, we struggled to get the key out of the key safe as it just wouldn’t open. Eventually we got the key out but it did not open the door. We then found a second key safe, which was even harder to open and it took both of us to open it! Thankfully, that key worked. The first thing you notice as you enter the apartment is the musty, damp smell. The rooms are a good size. The second bedroom is a long way from the main area of the apartment which may or may not be favourable. Probably not great if you have a baby or toddler. The kitchen was large and nice. There was a pint of milk in the fridge and washing up liquid and a sponge. However, for the amount of money charged to stay, we felt a welcome pack with maybe a small loaf of bread or cake or biscuits would have been nice. In other similarly priced accommodations we have enjoyed there being foil, cling film, a little olive oil etc. A few home comforts would have been appreciated. The living room was fine, the settees not particularly comfy. A DVD player would be a bonus as the TV channels are limited on Freeview. We found getting into the car park a little tricky as we have a largish car and the entrance was a very sharp turn on a very steep hill. The rooms look out onto the car park so we wouldn’t have left the blinds open as suggested to wake up to sea views. The out road was closed due to a landslide and fallen tree which was a little disconcerting for us in view of our bad weather with heavy rain and flooding. There’s not an awful lot to do in Lynton this time of year and in inclement weather and we arrived on a Sunday with most shops shut. All in all, we wouldn’t return.

Firstly it is not clear which building the apartment is in as the building access is not in Belyars lane but the next road up The keysafe instructions are of no use!
! We could not find the box⦠no labelling, not in the position described. Had to ring the owner for more direction. He admitted its in a ridiculous position⦠Its about 9inches off the floor so very difficult to use . Old model with no visible numbers( mind you youâd have to lay on the floor to see them!!) Very very frustrating after a 7 hour journey!! Then issues to put keys back into it when we left. Couldnât get box closed and again had to ring owner. Mainly down to the position of it! Finally managed it only then the next day to be accused by the owner of putting the wrong keys in the box!! How is that possible when they were the keys we used all week to get in and out of the apartment . He said a locksmith had had to be called at a cost of £80 to fix lock . We re awaiting more detail but have not had a reply from him This has totally put a huge negative on any thoughts of staying at this place again The other negatives are no change of towels or laundry in a week. You couldnât wash what you had as no spare to use in the meantime. No iron even though there is an ironing board and no code for shed to put rubbish into although there is instruction to do that as you leave⦠yet another frustration! .. searched high and low for a code!! A lot more thought and attention needs to be put into the things above as things like key issues create stress and frustration. Very little information left about the area and most that there is is for childrenâs activities Not a property for those with limited agility as many steep hills up from the seafront and parking in St Ives is impossible We wonât be returning to this property due to the issues and accusation but will definitely return to St Ives

This is a great property in a great location.
As a previous customer has commented the property is not accessed on Belyars lane but a little road behind (Belyars Croft). The key collection point was hard to find as itâs on its on and was almost on the floor and not labelled. This was rectified while we there. It is now labelled and at a proper height for access though it is still not with all the others so when you enter the shed look to the right for one on its own. The fridge unfortunately doesnât work very well which meant we ended up throwing food away. I think the freezer needs a good defrost and someone to check over the fridge. When I came to strip the beds I noticed that pillow protectors were missing off some pillows and that these and the mattress protectors had not been changed. I do think this should happen with each customer. Also the blankets on the beds need cleaning. They were just turned over and dirty. But the property is lovely and spacious and super location. A little bit better cleaning and this would be perfect.

The ground floor apartment was clean and comfortable and the furnishings were good quality.
It is also dog friendly. It had everything that one needs. The underfloor heating was efficient and the sensor lights in the hall and bathroom were a good idea and energy efficient. There were just a couple of steps down to the front door and a large lobby/hallway before entering the apartment. The location was great. Not necessary to use the car to see Whitby. Very central for walking down to pubs and the co-op foodstore, the train station, harbour and sea front. The walk back is uphill but it is just the last 30 ft that is steep. We found parking quite challenging as the streets are narrow and finding a space can sometimes be difficult and it is not possible to always park outside the property. We successfully managed to get a space near the property and we have a Kia Sorrento. Larger cars may have a problem. It is very quiet at night and we would recommend the apartment and area. We had a lovely time and would not hesitate in booking again.

Excellent parking (apartment has it's own quite wide car parking space) at this well located property. We were a little concerned on arriving that it might be quite noisy, but it was quiet all week. Comfortable apartment and well equipped. Some cleaning issues re previous dog/s in the property and also previous occupants had put unwashed crockery and cutlery back in the cupboard/drawer hidden under another item. The bed was reasonably comfortable; a bit too soft for our liking, but bed firmness is personal. The en-suite shower cubicle is made for very slim people only! Plenty of hot water for baths. Spacious lounge. Easy to walk down to the beach, along the road to the nature reserve, Sandworld etc, and to the main Weymouth beach/seafront. Local Spar (shop) just a minute's walk away on the Waterside caravan complex.
