What our customers say about their holidays

The cottage was a wonderful place to spend Christmas with the dogs.
Such a cosy, warm cottage but very modern. I was concerned about all the kitchen items I would need to pack to make a Christmas dinner, but Dale reassured me that they had everything available for foodies and they certainly did. The cottage is much bigger than it looks on the photos and it had lots of storage space. We were overwhelmed by the lovely welcome drinks and nibbles we recieved, also emergency tea, coffee and milk as we hadn't had time to stop at the shop. Asda is just a 6 minute drive away but I was sad to hear that there was no village shop. There was also no village pub although Dale directed us to 2 that were a walking distance away and served lovely food. Natland itself is a cute little village, imagine the Vicar of Dibley setting. There is a church at the heart of the village and we attended 3x over the festive period and enjoyed every service. The locals were lovely and recognised us from our walks with the dogs. The walks were great for the dogs and the views were lovely. It was a short drive to Windermere where you can get a boat to other areas such as Ambleside. The dogs would get quite muddy on their walks so Dale also gave us access to the outhouse area where there is a washing machine, you can hang wet clothes and also wipe down the dogs. The most amazing part for us was that as we have two small dogs, the garden wasn't secure for them, especially Daisy my Cavachon who is like Houdini. When I mentioned this to Dale, he spent Christmas Eve in the rain securing the fence with a mesh. This was way beyond what I would ever have expected and I was so grateful as the garden is now secure for small pooches who want to stay. Thank you and we would love to go back again.

On arrival we were greeted with a foul smell in the kitchen.
On inspection we discovered a dried spillage that seemed to have been there for some time. We had to clean the fridge before we could put out food away. We also had to clean the cutlery drawer and its contents as it was sticky and greasy. The pans especially the frying pan was dirty with stuck on food. As the keys are stored in a combination key pad we didnât even know the owners were on site to deal with this issue until we had cleaned up the mess and read the manual. By this time the clean up had taken place. We did send the owners one of the photographs we had taken to show them. We stay with Sykes regularly and this has never happened before. We rang the owners the following day with a heater query as the apartment was cold due to the heaters being on a timer. We mentioned the smell and the spillage and they blamed it on the previous occupants. But the fact that they never checked the kitchen area before we arrived is not the previous occupants fault. This should have been done before we arrived for our stay. The aerial connection on the TV was poor and intermittent so watching a programme from start to finish was impossible. When we messaged the owners for advice they did not respond to help us with a solution.

What can i say about this amazing little hidden gem, we were blown away by the fantastic little welcome basket the place was spotless and was welcoming from the start.
Yes, even after reading the feedback left by others i kept banging my head off the low ceilings but i had to keep going to the windows and opening them up so i could enjoy the amazing views! I must admit, trying to relax on the first night and all we could hear was loud talking and laughter from the beer garden, i thought to myself "oh god no, i hope this doesn't go on to long" and less than an hour it was all quiet, so thank you to the residents and the pwners for being so thoughtful. We are all smokers so spent a lot of time downstairs out the front and not one person walked past without smiling and giving us a greeting,. The dogs loved the shoreline, even if it did result in us having to wash the famous "Morecombe mud" off them, when the tide came in, it was scary just how fast it would come and how it seemed to sneak around behind you and when the tide was out, it looked like you could walk to Blackpool! Would i recommend shorefields, i already have, i was letting dog owning friends know about this diamond of a place before we had even finished our holiday!

The hosts were very friendly.
The property was immaculate. We received complimentary wine, toy for the dog and we were fully stocked with tea, coffee, biscuits and milk. Excellent Middleton Pub 2 minutes away. On the way into Heysham was the Grafters Cafe which was dog friendly. A further 10 minutes and you are into Morecambe sea front. Warth our for two speed cameras close together in Heysham. Aldi and Morrisons on the sea front. Also the excellent indoot Festival Market. Nice clean revamped promenade and the Stone Jetty and Tony's Cafe very good. Good fishing off the end of the Jetty at high tide. A top class tacklr shop at Gerry's on the sea front. Follow the coast road into Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Sandside and Arnside. It;s just and hour to Fleetwood which has excellent beaxhes behind the sea defences. Behind thr apartmenr is a beach which you can drive on. There are wandering cows which go across to Sunderland Point. We were very pleased with everthing. You can even hire a Mobility Scooter on Morecambe sea front if your legs are giving out. A good holiday.

Shorefields Two is in a great location for exploring the local area.
The apartment had a fabulous outlook to the sea. You had everything you needed for a super holiday. Wi-Fi was a little disappointing being the furthest from the hub. The bed (site side) was comfortable, the rooms were spacious, airy and clean. We had no issues with the shared access. Nice touch with towels for dirty paws. The Welcome Tray was superb and gratefully received. The downside for us were the angled ceilings and the bumps on the head despite repeatedly saying out loud "mind your head" especially when washing up or prepping food. Due to the heat we couldn't go out for too long with the dogs and yes there was noise from downstairs whether doors slamming or the residents meeting place in the shop garden - but it didn't spoil our time there the conversation added to the atmosphere. A really lovely site, the cows who graze on the marsh are great to see. The ferry across to Isle of Man became a feature, so did the Sunday air show of microlites, jet and other aircraft.
