What our customers say about their holidays

We loved Jasmin Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our week away here.
The cottage is in a terraced row of 5 small cottages which overlook the harbour and bridge with the remains of the town walls making up the rear boundary of the cottage and the castle behind and nearby too. We loved sitting in the living room and being able to watch the boats in the harbour outside. It is beautiful in any weather. The cottage is well appointed and equipped. We would have liked to have been able to separate the recyclable elements of our rubbish, other cottages in the row seemed to have recycling boxes but there were none with Jasmin Cottage. We ended bringing a big bag of recycling all the way home with us! Otherwise the kitchen had the essentials. The parking is tight, we managed ok with our Vauxhall Corsa but anything bigger would be very tricky to park. While we were there all 5 cottages were occupied (4 are holiday rentals and one is privately owned and permanently occupied). The people in cottage 5 ended up parking at the end of the cottages as their parking space is closed in by properties 3 and 4. The parking wouldnât put us off rebooking, itâs a bit of a pain but Jasmin cottage has the easiest spot to park in. The owners of cottage 2 are very friendly and we chatted to them a couple of times. We would have rebooked the cottage immediately for a future week, but the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The mattress was uncomfortable for my hardy husband but for me it gave me excruciating back pain. Such a shame as everything else was so good. I have even considered bringing my own mattress topper or similar so we can stay again! The bathroom is lovely and luxurious, the bedroom is stylish (albeit with a dreadful mattress) with wonderful views of the harbour, the kitchen/dining/living room is lovely and the multi-fuel burner a treat for chilly evenings. The TV needs replacing as it has some strange colours once it has been on a few minutes, we liked using the Bose digital radio. Conwy has so much to offer - we loved watching the goings-on in the harbour, the lovely streets and shops in town (choux rings from Popty Conwy Bakery are so delicious, ice cream from Parisellas are amazing), the Castle and town walls, and the nearby Morfa beach with its long stretch of sand and beautiful views of the Great Orme and Puffin Island. Jasmin Cottage is special and we wish we could return.

Our visit to Conway was organised by my wife, Ann, as part of the commemoration for my 90th birthday, due on March 20th 2019.
As we parked the car on arrival I got out and stood, transfixed by the view from the cottage which ticked all my personal boxes; I have enjoyed a serious affinity with the sea, rivers, lakes, ships and boats stretching back for most of my life so the view out towards the sea, Deganwy and the three bridges was pure magic for me. We only ventured out on the roads on one day when we went to Llandudno, spending all the other days walking in and around the walled town, completing our exploration when I managed to drag myself up the ramps and steps into the castle. Pure history has always mattered to me so Conway/Conwy was bound to be of major interest to me. My only other experience of the vicinity was in 1965 when I towed my sailing dinghy from Bolton to Deganwy for the annual race across the Menai Straits to Beaumaris - I misread the tidal information on the chart sailing up the wrong side of the Straits with tidal flow against me which did nothing for our performance.. The exercise I achieved walking the town was complemented by the staircase in the house which brought muscles into play that have been long idle so all in all the stay did me a power of good and it was fascinating to watch activities in the harbour, like the changing of the RNLI rescue craft. I met many interesting and friendly people who put the icing on my personal cake - it was a pleasure to meet them.

In the bathroom the toilet seat was broken also no bath mat but otherwise it was lovely.
On leaving i removed all the bedding and found some of the pillows badly stained. Also a stained duvet. Downstairs was disgraceful - i wouldn't use any of the cupboards to store my food etc they smelt and were very dirty - when you touched the cupboards they were sticky to the touch. I had to put towels on the settee and chair before we could use them also dog biscuits down the side of the settee the furniture was disgusting. Nowhere to sit outside and i could go on. I am disappointed to say the least. I would appreciate a phone call i don't wish to take this matter further but i will if i have to.

This was a lovely old cottage in a very quiet part of Old Colwyn!
It's a very short walk from a cafe, a lovely bakery that we used a lot , an Aldi supermarket or a Co-op and also bus stops! The buses are very frequent as we don't drive either! The property itself was lovely and reminded me of my Nan's who had lived a short walk away! The power shower was lovely to use, bedroom was big with plenty of storage! The only negative was the very steep stairs to go up, but my Nan's was the same! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, even though the weather wasn't good! The Plough Inn a short walk away is recommended for food, especially their roast dinner on Sundays!!
