What our customers say about their holidays

Excellent place for exploring North Wales.
The front and rear of the property requires major maintenance, a good clean up, front bench starting to rot. The gated entrance if of no use so there is a potential safety hazard if you have children or pets. The metal gate looks as though it hasn't been maintained for 10 years, itâs rotten and hanging of its hinges There is NO rear garden, just some shingle and no view and you do not get any sun as it's against a cliff. The bathroom door is a sliding door and has clearly been off the runners for a very long time, the floor has a groove worn in it due to it dragging so not privacy in the bathroom. This is a major safety hazard which could lead to the door falling off. In previous reviews this has been highlighted but not addressed, the shower control has a fixing screw missing so the handle comes off in your hand or falls on the bath and this looks a though it has been missing for a long time, just basic maintenance needed. Three out of four lamps in the rear of the property needed replacement, just the basic checks any landlords would hopefully carry out when getting ready for next client. Key lock at the rear of the property is old and dirty, just needs a replacement and you would struggle to use it in the dark, a simple security lamp would suffice. Handle on fridge kept coming off, as reported by previous guests, again just basic maintenance needed. The only 'starter pack' for the wood burning fire was a few firelighters, no wood or matches so bring your own! Nice location, could be a 5-star property but the owner needs to get a grip with maintenance and description.

The instructions for access were clear and unloading was easy but via 8 steps.
However it should be noted that the drive is on quite a steep slope which might be a problem for some individuals. The house was in a quiet neighbourhood (late June) with little or no disturbance despite the nearby railway and main road. There were good views of the nearby hills, the river and the castle from the front bedroom and the decked area adjacent to the front door. The double bed was soft but tolerable with our own toppers. We did not use the single bed so cannot comment. There is no gas in the property and the heating, hot water and the shower were electric. We did not use the heating so cannot comment. The hot water is from a hot water tank with an immersion heater and was very good. The shower was also perfectly adequate with a reasonable flow. The towels were a bit small compared to other properties we have used and we did not find an information folder with instructions for appliances etc. There was some information on local attractions. The TV was good with both Netflix and Amazon Prime included. We thought Deganwy was an excellent location for visiting the area. There was a fish and chip shop 1-2 minutes on the main road to Llanduno Junction. At Llanduno jumction there were supermarkets and access to the NorthWales Expressway. There is an M&S at Llanduno but parking costs £2.50 per hour. Lots to do in the area and we would return to the area and the property in the future it we have time.

A nice little house in a good location.
Our welcome pack was thoughtful and appreciated, thank you. On first entering the house appeared clean. Unfortunately some aspects were not up to the standard we expected. The white curtains in lounge are very dirty. We moved the armchair to fit a dog bed in, the floor behind and under the furniture had not been swept, revealing bits of old food and small dog toys, (these were left in the house). The shower head has black mould on it. The bathroom fan is filthy. The back patio was dirty with dog poo and litter. I had to clean this up before I could allow my dogs outside. Not a very nice welcome. Stripping the bed down on leaving revealed a stained mattress protector and rubbish under the bed. I have photos of the curtains, shower head, fan, stained bedding and under bed. The sofa has been well used and you sink right into the left seat. Sofa also needs a good clean. The rear outside light does not work. The focal center of the lounge is a very large clock. Unfortunately this was not working either. The literature in the house says a spare set of keys are in the cutlery drawer. They were not there so we had to separate the keys on the keyring in order to be able to open both doors. It is such a shame that these little matters could not have been better managed as this could be a fabulous place to stay.

The parking is there BUT it is difficult because the space is on a severe gradient which makes getting in an out of the car a struggle and there were always cars parked opposite which hampered the access and exit.
One reason for us choosing Castle View was the enclosed garden and grass area as we have a small dog. However you need to be very fit and agile to access this area. The steps are steep and without an adequate handrail. The upper steps are hazardous with loose gravel. If we hadnât had the company of a young person with us we could not have cleaned up after our dog. Internally the property did better. The kitchen needs slightly more than pots and pans â¦.such as a few casserole dishes.and a dishwasher would have been preferable to the large freezer which we never used. Upstairs is comfortable but the single bedroom has no hanging rail and only 1 hookâ¦..definitely not to our daughters liking. The same goes for the bathroom. Fantastic shower but a grab rail to aid getting in and out of the bath would be a great idea. Itâs the first bathroom Iâve been into that has not even one hook on which to hang oneâs clothesâ¦â¦and the lock fell out and had to be pushed back into place on numerous occasions. On the positive side the beds and linens are excellent. As is the lounge and dining ares. I would suggest that this property is not ideal for anyone with mobility or balance problems.

Very stylish but very homely at the same time - luxury accommodation but practical and useable.
Everything from the knives and forks to the comfortable beds is top quality. The kitchen has everything you would need and more. There are two outside areas. The front overlooks the High Street and at this time of year gets most sun (end April) and the weather was kind enough for us to sit and watch the world go by. The back patio is accessed through bi-fold doors which would open up the whole of the house. A bit more shaded, we didn't use it this time, but can see that in the height of summer it would be a perfect place to sit. The bathroom is spacious, both the bedrooms are large and have big wardrobes and drawers, and the downstairs loo is a bonus. Llewelyn Street is narrow but we were able to park outside every day without problem and its position just off the High Street is perfect for shops, pubs, restaurants. It's also just a couple of minutes walk from the Quay and from there there's a lovely walk along to the marina. Alison is a great owner, helpful and available if you have any questions or need information.
