  The property is conveniently located and you can park outside!

  We did enjoy our visit. However there were a number of things that needed addressing some of which were raised following our stay last September 2022 in the same property. The property does need some updating. RAISED LAST SEPTEMBER AND STILL NOT DONE. 1) Extractor hood not working. 2) Kitchen window handles broken, difficult to open. 3) The whole shower needs changing, very old and keeps falling off the bracket when showering. 4) No outside light to decked / garden area. 5) Child gate on stairs broken, danger of falling down stairs. CURRENT VISIT 2023 1) Washer needs service / deep clean. Washing came out stinking and then we were unable to dry anything. NEED a new washer / dryer. 2) Hoover also stinks and needs replacing. 3) Kitchen bin lid broken off and needs replacing. 4) TV has very few stations and we were unable to retune it. 5) Storage cupboard in kitchen/dining area had to be emptied out to get to the ironing board / hoover / iron etc. An old cupboard door had been dumped in there after the new dishwasher had been fitted. 6) A curtain or blind should be on the window next to the front door. Not very private when going up and down stairs. It is a big window looking onto the road. Sykes sent me a voucher whilst we were there for £40 off our next booking and it expires on 13th October. It would be better to have an open expiry date as we were not ready to book our next holiday yet!

  Fantastic location if "in-town" is what you want, and we did.

  Observations - (1) the small bathroom's extractor fan didn't work so the bathroom got overwhelmed with steam, I mentioned this to the person when I dropped off the key. (2) the small bathroom's door catches on the floor when you open/close it and is extremely annoying. (3) There were oven gloves and tea towels supplied but the description emphasized there weren't for some reason. So we took our own for no reason. Annoying - (1) the small bathroom is actually painfully small, you cannot sit on the loo properly and exiting the shower is just dangerous as the WC is in the way. We ended up all using the larger bathroom with aged grandmother which was what we were trying to avoid in the first place by choosing a property with 2 bathrooms. (2) The big rubbish bin in the kitchen is awful as you have to press down one side with your hand, it needs to be a pedal bin. (3) The position of the dishwasher right next to the sink means you can't get to anything when it's door is open.

  This was a lovely cosy cottage with lots of quirky features.

  Comfortable for 5 or 6 but be warned the stairs are steep for young children or frail or vulnerable adults. Beautiful views over Dartmouth town and harbour. The cottage is accessible by a very steep and narrow road for unloading and loading luggage but otherwise leave the car in the town car park. We kept ourselves fit walking up and down the steep hill to the shops! The cottage is just a short (steep) walk from the town centre where there is loads to do for all ages: steam train trip, lots of boat trips, museum, escape room, a wide choice of pubs, restaurants and cafes. There’s also a very nice heated outdoor swimming pool and a very nice indoor pool and gym at the leisure centre. Lovely walks with superb views. A nice walk or boat ride to Dartmouth castle and the coast. The castle is managed by English Heritage and there are activities for all ages and it’s well worth a visit. We loved Dartmouth! A friendly, peaceful and pretty town.

  This is a fabulous Cottage - everything we could have hoped for and more!

  !! Incredibly well presented, comfortable and welcoming - with cupboards full of 'essentials' in case we'd forgotten anything, a gorgeous vase of fresh flowers and scrumptuous scones, jam and cream on arrival!! There is a fabulous, huge Super King bed in the gorgeous 'Master Bedroom' with views over the Dartmouth hillsides!! The courtyard was perfect in the sunshine in the early evenings and the sitting room with it's large soft sofa was brilliant after the sun went down!! Parking was really easy in the town centre car park (unloading on the footpath when we arrived - no problem at all). The walk up the hill wasn't very far or too steep - it did us good after all the food we'd eaten!! This was a wonderful holiday in a super place - we are really grateful for all the time and thought that has obviously gone into making Bay Tree Cottage so perfect - thank you so, so much!!   What a gem of a property!

  A pleasant 5 minute walk into Dartmouth Town Centre, the property comes with a parking permit in the main square car park (5 mins away). Everything has been thought about in the property. Ample supply of tea, coffee, washing machine and dishwasher pods. Fresh flowers and a cream tea delivered on our first evening! I've stayed in many holiday cottages and they leave 1 bin bag and 1 dishwasher tablet whereas the Bay Tree Cottage is generous in everything! Comfort is at the very heart of the property. Honestly, there isn't a single thing I could suggest to make this place better. Great outdoor seating area, beautifully decorated and furnished throughout. We enjoyed our time there so much that we intend to book a 2nd trip in September! The road is on an incline, but this didn't detract our experience at all. We love Dartmouth and to now have the Bay Tree Cottage as our go to, is a win-win!
