What our customers say about their holidays

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the cottage.
It is really quirky and full of character. The location is amazing as its so central in the town. The bathrooms were lovely and clean and there was always plenty of hot water. The bathroom on the top floor is stunning. We slept well as the beds were comfortable and enjoyed relaxing in the TV lounge. However, there were a few small niggles during our stay. On arrival it would have been useful to have a welcome sheet or pack of some sort with key information, including about where to put rubbish- we had to keep taking it out in small bags and disposing of it in the street bins. A larger brush for sweeping the floor would have been handy, we had 2 small children with us who inevitably dropped food on the kitchen floor and cleaning the tiles wasn't easy with the small dustpan and brush. On our first day I had to wash a lot of the kitchen utensils, crockery and pans before we could use them as there was food or grease left on them, I understand that this is down to previous guests but feel that this should be checked before arrival as it was very obvious. There were a lot of cobwebs, I know its an old building but they were in the corners of every room with quite a lot of spiders. There is also a strong musty smell on the bottom floor so we only stayed down there when necessary for cooking and eating. Overall it was a good stay despite those few niggles and we would return as the location was fantastic.

What a lovely little gem of a property!
Away from it all, but near enough to the beach (1 mile) and the local shops/cafes. Really quiet other than the natural countryside noises and a total sun trap when the weather is nice, which it was all week. Some have commented on the lane going to the property which is indeed narrow, but its perfectly negotiable and I never actually encountered another vehicle when driving. For info I drive a 4x4 so unless you're trying to drive down a lorry I think you'll be ok. Perfect for walkers, with me and the dog clocking up over 90 miles in the week. The local pubs can get VERY busy on the weekend in summer as can the beach, but there are much quieter ones further afield in the car. The house is west facing, so can get VERY hot in the sun so best keep the curtains closed. It would benefit from blackout curtains in the bedroom such as those in the lounge but I guess this is down to personal preference. Please note there is also no washing machine here, so get your elbow grease ready for the handwash! Alternatively there is an laundry in the village. Hosts are tremendous and couldn't do enough. Local amenities are grand, including an emergency visit to the vets who couldn't help enough. All that remains to say is diolch!

This is a wonderful apartment, set up quite high to enjoy the estuary views. The photos on the website have not been edited at all, the views really are as wonderful as they appear on the internet. The apartment is in a good location for getting out and about and has everything that you will need to make your stay a relaxing and peaceful one. The patio/decking just off the main room is large and secure, our dog loved being there and watching everything going on around her. We were lucky enough to have great weather during our stay and it was really nice to have breakfast and/or lunch on the decking, listening to the various birdsong and trains on both sides of the estuary. The apartment was very comfortable, airy and the view overlooking the estuary is breathtaking. Both bedrooms had plenty of wardrobe space with very good en-suites. It is nicely decorated throughout and because you are up in the eaves of the building, you can see all the various beams, which adds character to the apartment. We'd organised a Tesco delivery for when we arrived and everything worked out really well for us. We would not hesitate in recommending this apartment and look forward to going back there ourselves again.

The cottage itself was restored to a high standard; the bed was comfortable as were the sofas.
As others had mentioned in the visitors' book, it is in need of a good deep clean. The kitchen utensils and crockery were not all thoroughly washed, and I had to wash them all before use. (One plate had actually been stacked DIRTY, as had a pan.) The kitchen had been equipped to a good basic level, but not with real love and enthusiasm, as has been the case in several cottages I use. I suppose @utilitarian' would describe it. The cottage is very conveniently situated with lovely walks and beach nearby, and despite some reservations, I would book it again. It's a pity there isn't a dishwasher, which would help with hygiene. The TV was not watchable in rainy weather (just when it is needed!) so a dish might be considered. Also, as was mentioned frequently in the visitors' book, I was surprised there was no reference file: ref bins, local amenities etc. This is normally a given in rental cottages. The tin opener was broken, and had also been mentioned previously. I do not mind of you publish this or not. It is meant to be helpful.

The cottage was superb, loved the open plan living room and kitchen area.
It made a perfect base, we had family staying next door and down the road in a B&B. Location was ideal for exploring and going on lovely walks. Cottage was modern and had lovely beds. Lovely grass area too for dogs and kids. Only room for improvement would be the following: Welcome Pack - info re recycling, wifi code and the local area. Outside light Dishwasher - shocked there wasnât a dishwasher given the size of the kitchen More glasses - and another larger pan and more crockery including egg cups A warming sign regarding how hot the water is. We would definitely come back and recommend. One other thing turn the fan off in the bathroom at night by using the isolation switch outside. It will keep you and the neighbours awake. Luckily as family were staying next door we asked them to do the same as gave us a sleepless night.
