What our customers say about their holidays

Trailside is a cosy cottage sleeping 4 just off the camel trail. Its in a great location for a 2 mile stroll or bike ride into Padstow, or a longer trek in the other direction to Wadebridge. A nice touch was to be left some cornish team, coffee and buscuits. The cottage has a spiral stair case and you definitely have to mind your head when entering the hobbit sized door into the loft bedroom. If you are an adult, using the upstairs toilet standing up is challenging due to the low ceiling. Even with good lighting and reminders be prepared to bump your head :) So you will need to keep a close eye on small children and I would not recommend it for anyone less mobile. Generally its well kitted out with a respectable Kitchen and downstairs bathroom but some of the fixtures and fittings are a bit tired. Lack of tumble dryer is probably less of an issue in summer months, but don’t forget to bring your own hair dryer as the cottage does not provide one for your use. If you want to go off grid its a good option as the internet is 1.3mbps making browsing the web difficult if not impossible. You can’t stream anything. Again, with children no internet is a problem. (I think the owner is improving this)

We had a lovely stay at Camelot cottage, the cottage is in a great location to explore and it was fantastic to be able to accommodate our friendly dog.
The cottage is spacious for a family of four and very well equipped, a real home from home. Something to consider is that the stair at top of the staircase coming from the master bedroom is a little tricky and wouldnât be suitable for younger children as extra caution is needed to navigate it. Another is the lack of privacy in outdoor spaces, the very small patio to the front is open to the street front and the tiny decked area to the back offers absolutely no privacy to the property next door, this also affects privacy when in the upstairs bathroom when windows are open. Finally I would like to point out that although we found the accommodation very clean there were some oversights we encountered, there was a packet of biscuits left out for us which I thought was lovely, however when we went to have one the pack was opened and half eaten, not very hygienic at all.

The Parking arrangements need to be explained more clearly.
Apparently it is expected that people park on the same side of the road as the cottage. There is a small space in front of the yard gate, but it didnât look to have been used so we parked opposite and were informed late in the week that this was not the norm. A small sign on the gate would have been helpful. However, there is ample on road parking just around the corner, so not a problem. We really enjoyed our stay and it was lovely to be away from the crowds in Port Isaac. The cottage was quite spacious, plenty of room for the dog and ourselves and immaculate when we arrived with hand sanitizers and other Covid extras in place. The WiFi worked well which was also a boon on longer autumn evenings. Lots of walking close by without using the car and a great farm shop less than a mile away.

The cottage is in a stunning location which makes it.
However, it wasnât entirely clean, there were finger nails on the table underneath the cook books. There were also no settee cushions (only decorative ones) on the backs of the settees making for very uncomfortable seating. The mattress in the main bedroom was very uncomfortable. The hot tub was dirty (I have photographs) and so full of bubbles and chlorine (because it hadnât been cleaned) it stung our eyes. It also ruined my silver jewellery, which I have never had a problem with wearing in a hot tub before. Again down to the amount of chlorine. My jewellery is very sentimental to me as most of it was bought as gifts from friends and family, so this I am most gutted about. Unfortunately I will not be recommending this beautiful cottage based on the above.
