What our customers say about their holidays

Great location, loved Bude!
Inaccurate description about cottage. Garden was definitely not enclosed, we had to put our well behaved whippett on a lead every time she needed to go out in garden, in case she spotted a cat, which she would of course chase. Misleading info about washing machine and tumble dryer. Not in the property. This was not a problem as very nearby. However the welcome from the lady, who I assume works on site, was less then welcoming. Not very helpful and started by telling me, Tuesdays were not a good day for washing as the machines are normally full, but allowed me to use a machine as not that busy! Generally unhelpful and not very friendly at all! Finally the shower in the cottage was pathetic! I knew it was going to be unreasonable to expect a power shower as states, hand held, but it was like an intermittent drizzle, which went from burning hot to cold. Reported this on the Tuesday, to the contact provided, advised they would arrange a plumber to check the pressure as not the only property with issues, never heard anymore again from anyone? No communication. The only saving grace were the showers at pool, but that all shut at 6pm, so if out later, no access to shower. All in all dissatisfied and would be jubious about any of your holiday cottage descriptions in the future! They say it's the little things and on this trip the little things really added up and made the cottage experience very disappointing.

We had a great week in The Stable the property was spotlessly clean with lovely good quality white bath sheets instead of the small towels you get in most properties!
! Nice fresh white sheets & comfortable beds very clean throughout. This is the best equipped cottage we have ever stayed in (they have thought of everything)the cupboard is stacked with crockery so you can use the dishwasher without running out of anything. Cupboard under the stairs has two airers so great for drying beach gear/wetsuits etc... The grounds are beautiful & well kept lots of space for parking & play area for younger children. The Farmer was very nice & took us to see the cows as three had been born one that morning, We could also see one calf with its mum from where we were sitting at the picnic table outside the Stable that evening . A 10min drive takes you to the closest Beach Duckpool we had a bbq there one evening great little beach & 15/20min drive into Bude our favourite place in Cornwall!!! We will definitely book this property again & would recommend it 100% we didn't want to go home & wished we'd booked two weeks instead of one!! There was a jug of fresh milk in the fridge & some biscuits,Tea,Coffee,Sugar left for us on arrival much appreciated. Best places to eat & dog friendly are The Brendan Arms & The Olive Tree both in Bude. Only thing we could of done with was more Coat hangers for four of us other than that perfect. This property is a great find & we look forward to returning in the future.

We stayed in Columbine Cottage with 2 dogs and 2 young children.
The cottage was really lovely and as described although it didnât have an enclosed garden so we had to take the dogs out to the toilet on lead. The decor is a little dated but was all very clean & there was everything we needed (including a cafetière for coffee as I always bring my own) the kitchen has everything you might need. The smart Tv allowed us to login to Netflix for the kids. We enjoyed using the pool and the kids swimming came on really well with swimming daily (they are only 4 & 5) - the pool was cleaned daily & well maintained with really nice changing rooms too. The park area was also really good - itâs a shame we couldnât take the dogs in there while the kids were playing though as itâs a large enclosed area of grass so we could have exercised the dogs and the children together. (I will also say I do understand why they are not allowed although I think if nobody else was using it at the same time & dogs were cleaned up after it would have been nice) Overall though a really nice area - close to Bude & the beaches (only a 5 minute drive)

Beautiful cottage for our wonderful Autumn stay.
I know it's an old property, but the amount of cobwebs around the lights and especially behind the headboards of the single beds were a little off putting - a good vacuum would sort this. Lots of clutter, ornaments etc, where you could see that they've been polished around. Too many plates cups and too much cutlery for a cottage sleeping only 4. The bathroom light is temperamental. The fire in the living roomed worked, however the display did not light up. The upstairs main bedroom the floorboards move so much we were worried the wardrobe and chest of drawers would tip over, or the ornaments would fall and smash. Please remember to take a toilet roll as we arrived before going to the shops and there wasn't no toilet roll at all. However we did have a lovely stay, during storm Ciarán, we certainly couldn't hear much of the bad weather from inside the cottage and we were warm enough. A well stocked shop a short walk down the road and a lovely café. We would like to return to this beautiful cottage.

We had a lovely stay at Lee Barton in The Stable for the week.
Itâs in an idyllic setting, the surrounding views are breathtaking and itâs a lovely place to rest and enjoy the small things. This was our first holiday as a family of 3 and I will forever hold special memories of our stay. Hosts were lovely and friendly and were very accommodating to all needs. The one thing I would mention is the thickness of the duvet, we were exceptionally hot in the front bedroom (at night it was 25 degrees in there so warmer than outside) and we had a 15 tog duvet. We used the sheet for the first few nights because of how hot it was but when the weather cooled down the sheet was too cool. The hosts gave us blankets which kept us a nice temperature but having a thinner duvet for summertime would be really helpful. The bed was very comfortable other than the heat. Thanks for a truly lovely week. I loved waking to listening to the birds and cows, what a beautiful alarm clock. We hope to be back!
