What our customers say about their holidays

On arrival at the old Brew House it was very quaint and because of its location was a good base to explore Chipping Campden and the surrounding area Once in the property and settled it became apparent it wasnât quite the cosy little cottage we expected On settling down for the evening we lit the log burner which the door didnât seal properly so for the rest of the holiday the was a Smokey and soot smell so we didnât use this anymore The living room furniture was uncomfortable and in a poor state of repair due to clasped springs and arms of the chairs being worn with the stuffing coming out The light above the cooking hob did not work The was a bowl on the floor under the hand basin in the bathroom to catch the water that leaked this had been happening for some time due to the colour of the bowl and the skirting and wasnât pleasant to look at when using the bathroom The was a glass with a crack in it left on the shelf with all the other glasses and crockery this wasnât spotted until one of my party had started drinking from it In one of the bedrooms one of the window V-lux blinds was broken and would not hold down to keep closed so we had to improvise and tie it down each night to the window handle to keep it closed This was reported to the owner and also the house keeper and it was apparent that they knew about it and it had been like it for some time and felt I was just being brushed off The house keeping throughout the property was quite poor the was a large build up of dirt and dust underneath the living room furniture and as all the furniture was on castors they could have been moved to clean with ease Overall I and my party thing the property is very overrated for the money paid and would feel it would be in your interest to oversee the property before letting it out on your books in the future thatâs why I feel it is only a 3 out of 5

This was our second stay at Puffits and we cannot recommend it highly enough.
It is spacious clean and well looked after. Itâs decorated beautifully with lots of finishing touches. It doesnât feel like a holiday let but a loved home. The bed and pillows are comfy and the bathroom spacious with a lovely bath. Plenty of storage for clothes etc. The kitchen is large and is well equipped. The utility area and downstairs toilet also very handy. The back garden is a good size and secure for our dog. Plenty of furniture for sitting out. The front garden also now has a gate so we were able to sit out there with our dog too. Nicky, the owner obviously loves her cottage, and was very helpful giving us lots of info before we arrived and checking in with us that everything was good for us. The cottage is in a perfect location, just a 10minute walk along the river to get to Bourton which is beautiful with lots of shops and cafes. You could do some good walks from the cottage with a large field at the back for exercising dogs Also central for exploring the Cotswolds. We look forward to staying at Puffits again in the future.

We came for my wifeâs 30th birthday and she always wanted to come to the Cotswolds.
We came with 2 friends, our dog and their dog. We had a really lovely time. The cottage was stunning and the views were picturesque! The cottage was comfortable, clean and spacey. The rooms were a great size and the beds were to die for! Kitchen has been refurbed which isnât shown in the pictures which was a pleasant surprise. The garden area was big and all enclosed so the pups couldnât escape which was nice. The only criticism we would have as a group is that the shower in the main bathroom is poor. The water was cold and the water flow was very slow so it was hard work to have a shower in there and someone couldnât be in the en-suite shower whilst the main bathroom shower was on as both showers would then work poorly. I think to pay that sort of money to stay for a weekend, a nice warm shower should be a given really. But genuinely, we loved the cottage and we would definitely stay here again and recommend to anybody, just the shower needs abit of seeing to I think.

The cottage is ideally located.
Just a few minutes walk from the village centre, right next door to a good pub/restaurant (The Mousetrap) and also close to some really good walks (best one we found was an 11 mile circular route through Lower Slaughter, Upper Slaugher and Naunton). Cottage was very comfortable with a great kitchen for cooking, although we also ate out and had take aways too during our stay. Ideal for dogs as the garden in the rear is quite large and fully enclosed. Bourton-on-the-Water is very pretty and has a fair number of pubs, restaurants and shops. Best find with the Bakery on the Water, which does amazing bread and traditional British cakes (iced buns, lardy cake, chelsea buns, etc). The owners were very helpful and dealt with one issue we had very quickly. One issue we had was finding the property as the directions from Sykes say it is on the right but is in fact on the left if approaching from the A429.

Had a wonderful week staying at the picturesque Puffitts Cottage.
The cottage is ideally situated, just a short walk into the centre of Bourton and has parking for two cars, which was very convenient. The cottage was clean, beautifully furnished and had everything we needed for our stay. and we made the most of the log burner on the wet, cooler days. A welcome basket was a lovely gesture and contained goodies to suit everyone. Nicky, the owner, was so helpful and once she had answered our queries, left us to enjoy our holiday. Our beds were so comfortable and all of us slept very well from the first night. We will definitely be happy to return to Puffitts when we visit the Cotswolds again and strongly recommend the cottage for an enjoyable stay.
