What our customers say about their holidays

The property is in a good location for the harbour and local amenities, has a well appointed kitchen, comfortable beds, and an excellent welcome pack.
It is warm and well insulated throughout, and would be very suitable for Autumn or Winter breaks. It is rather dark downstairs, but light and airy once on the first floor. The main drawback is the lack of a clearly designated parking space. Though there is a complementary parking permit for the pay-and-display car parks provided (which is an excellent idea), it does not fully compensate for the parking issues at the property itself. We found this to be quite a problem - ironically enough, as we don't have our own transport. Friends who helped with the transport to and from Seahouses had problems parking when packing and unpacking, as the area suggested was either occupied or being unofficially reserved by other drivers who thought the space was available. We found the house bins were being used to reserve a space when we were out. We feel that a designated parking space should really be a given with a property like this. Otherwise, the lack or a basic radio was a miss, and we'd like to note that the unsafe chair leg - mentioned in previous reviews - had still not been attended to. However, if the parking issues are not a problem for you, this property is in an excellent location.

Extremely well thought out everything you need .
loved the welcome pack best we have had.Great boot room. Road outside awful so many pot holes. Loved swallows fish mongers. So central to walk to everywhere . Loved seahouses Craster newton by the sea and Bamburgh. Black swan 2 mins walk food excellent. Bamburgh castle hotel lovely atmosphere nice outside area overlooking harbour but food awful. Everywhere is dog friendly so nice.We had not main light in kings size bedroom downstairs reported it first day said someone would come to fix it still waiting.no disc for free parking it cost us a bomb in parking we had 2 cars very disappointed . Cleanliness of the whole place could have been better . On top of wardrobes so much dust .Kitchen cupboards still crumbs in and kitchen drawer. I donât think cleaners have enough time . I think it needs a super clean every few weeks not just top show . I was extremely impressed with all the cleaning products you left us beautiful clean tea towels aswell. The best we have had and we have been coming to Northumberland for 29 years . Love it . I would recommend Juniper. But you do need feed back and slight improvement on above but best cottage we have stayed in for a while .

Whilst the property is in an excellent position and the views from the lounge dinning/kitchen area are wonderful the other parts of the property somewhat fall short.
The house looks tired and in need of a redecoration, the twin bedroom on the first floor, the paint work on the walls are marked and looked grubby. The small single bedroom didn't actually work for us, the window wall and window was showing signs of mould. And It wasn't possible to leave the window open in the room as the fumes and smell of oil was coming in!our son that who was supposedly staying couldn't stay in the room and slept in the lounge! The spa shower in the bath didn't work. The toilet on the third floor wasn't really suitable unless you were under 4,6 feet in hight,or you were a contortionist and didn't mind burning your head on the ceiling light. The staircase up to the third floor in my opinion was a bit dodgy, it has a single hand rail on one side which wasn't the issue. However the stair riser on the left hand side purtrudes above the floor level and is a trip hazard. As I said previously, the position of the property and the views from the lounge are excellent, but the rest of the property let's it down.

We loved the cottage and Iâve already recommended it to a friend!
Our 3 daughters occupied the downstairs bedrooms whilst my husband and I had the en-suite. It was so handy having 2 bathrooms. The cottage was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. It had such a nice feel about it and we loved it as soon as we walked in. There was only one small issue which in no way spoilt or overshadowed our stay but there were 2 drops of blood on the bottom sheet on the bed in the en-suite room and a smudging of blood on two of the 4 pillows. It had not come from my husband or myself. I do think itâs worth mentioning as it was a little off-putting. The welcome pack was a lovely idea. The parking was never an issue as in some reviews. We left the bins out to secure a spot and it was always available on our return. We put the radiators on in the morning and it quickly became âtoastieâ for us having our breakfast. An enjoyable stay. Seahouses is a gray central base from which to explore this lovely county.

The location is wonderful, next to the Budle Bay nature reserve and we've had many great stays in the area.
/\ First time at this property. It was dirty and poorly equipped and the unwillingness of the owner and Sykes to address the issues was very disappointing. The photos on the advert are not accurate. The living room has a different suite and rug to those shown, both in need of a deep clean. The bathroom has no bath - in spite of one showing in the photo . The wood burner is damaged inside and has no grate, relying on sand for a fireproof barrier. It was packed with oil painted wood for fuel. The smoke alarm is incorrectly and ineffectively positioned. The owners' response to the lack of cleaning products was to water down the remaining drop of washing up liquid they had supplied. Kitchen bins were crusty with old hardened food and were unlined. The bed frames revealed ingrained dirt and hair when we stripped the beds at the end of our stay. Over £400 for a 3 day stay in early December is not cheap and there is much better value to be found elsewhere. Avoid.
