  We have stayed at this property before and wanted to book again as was a lovely first time.

  However, we were extremely disappointed this time round. When arriving, I went in to find sand and dog hair on the sofa, I know dogs are allowed but you would expect this to be cleaned before next guests arrive. The carpets were dirty upstairs they had been hovered but dirt is well stuck in them the could do with a wash as socks were just turning black everyday. Had to go buy slippers to wear around house to stop from feeling dirty on feet all the time. Upstairs main bed wasn't sturdy and was broke on one side we think this could be resolved by putting new screws in but still should have been checked as now wasn't safe to sleep in so we had to use the 2 beds in other room. However this worked out better as main room has damp coming through and we have a 2 month old who the damp made her poorly along with my partner this was not ideal and nothing was even done until last day on Friday even when reported on the Monday and this only was the housekeeper coming around to find out what we meant by being dirty and the broken bed. We ended up leaving early due to them two being so poorly from the house we couldn't stay another night and definitely didn't want to. It was great to leave the property. This property could do with alot of refurbishment as it could make a great lovely little cottage again.

  We really appreciated all the extra things in the cottage, especially in the kitchen, to make life a lot easier on arrival. Lots of thought from the owners into making settling in a very easy operation. The location was excellent for all beaches and fish and chip shop and Chinese take away. Also it was extremely quiet at night. The stairs were very steep, especially the top step, so a safety gate would be of benefit with young children as we had a 5 year old with us. Also the en suite shower and toilet made it difficult if the people in the twin bedroom needed the toilet in the middle of the night as otherwise they had to go downstairs. It would have been better to have had another shower in the downstairs toilet area. Otherwise we had a very enjoyable stay.

  Lovely cottage, great location for sea front and public transport to get around the wider coast - 15 min walk to train and bus stops - great local public transport. Two really close pubs to drink/eat at plus a couple of restaurants. Cottage had everything we needed except wifi. House only really suitable for one family due to the only bathroom being accessed through the main bedroom. Excellent value for money and very clean. Would recommend to coast path walkers - we walked from Torcross to Exmouth and never used the car once! Park very close for dog walks, literally 2 mins up the road.

  We would totally recommend this property. The standard of cleanliness was exceptional and everything you could need was available in the well equipped kitchen. The garden was beautiful and with the use of sunloungers available was a bonus if we wanted a lazy “stay at home” day which is often lacking in other properties. We also felt that the property was quite central to go off and explore but the property itself is in a lovely quiet area. We would definitely recommend this property and the hosts were extremely friendly and we would give this an 11 out of 10 and would love to return

  Coastguard Cottage is the perfect little seaside retreat, and is ideally situated close to the harbour within easy walking distance to the centre of Paignton. The cottage was warm, clean and very comfortable, with a lovely cosy beside the sea feel, which my daughter and I loved. The attention to detail, pretty nautical memorabilia through out the cottage, and that it was so well equipped with everything you could ever need( including buckets and spades which I forgot!) made it a perfect short break. I would highly recommend Coastguard Cottage, we had a wonderful stay.
