What our customers say about their holidays

Premium price, less than premium experience.
It was a good location, and on the surface, looked good. There were maintenance issues including - flashing kitchen lights; flashing /not working rt hand light over bathroom sink; hot tap on bath had to be held to turn on and off - not good when it was hot; button on bathroom sink hot tap detached; grey settee in front lounge - spring gone? - down at one side; general rubbish bin outside - totally full on arrival. Cleanliness - downstairs loo very offputting, even after several flushes with what looked like faecal stains; plenty of cobwebs and dust etc along skirting by bed/back of bedside cabinets, suggesting inadequate cleaning; on arrival - black bits in bath - may be blown in if window had been opened, but as you would have to stand in bath to operate the window, obviously the muck was just left - also on shelf between cistern and toilet bowl. Bad staining on mattress protector on queen bed. Minor points - the kettle is very heavy for anyone who is not super fit in upper body. Kitchen blind over the sink hopeless for anyone under 5'5 to reach and pull up/down. Shower lethal - bath mat would be helpful to be obvious. Those issues are about the cottage. In what was not even a full week with a clear message early booking in was out of the question, it felt like being short changed to receive a message when it was too late to react to say the cottage was available earlier. Never had any of theses issues with Sykes before. Very disappointed.

Thank you for making arrangements for changing the bed sheet and pillows in the top bunk bed.
We enjoyed our stay and the welcome pack and wine was great. The pictures do not do the cottage justice in terms of surroundings. It was much more than what we expected. Feedback based on our stay: 1) The toilet bin lid was broken when we arrived and the toothbrush holder was not working properly. 2) The were mice running in the attic all night which made it difficult to sleep, I totally understand itâs a converted barn and mice will always make their way into an old building, but itâs not great when you are a light sleeper 3) The lack of an actual clothes line or rotary line was frustrating when we wanted to reuse our bath towels and costumes. The drier was unable to take more than one towel at a time to dry and it wasnât economical to use. 4) The doors in the sitting room were too stiff to open onto the small seating area 5) The toilet button stuck several times but bounced back again after a while 6) We were thrilled to have been able to use the tennis court 7) The directions to the cottage were difficult to follow after we took the road off Broad Street. The directions should have read take the first right as the directions which we followed led us to Elford Farm. We did not follow the postcode as you advised. And coming from Seahouses we always ended up arriving back at the cottage and owners house on the right not left.

This is a beautiful holiday let tucked away in the heart of Seahouses.
There is private parking directly outside the property for 2 cars . The garden is fully enclosed which if you have 2 little dogs like we do is a big plus & can be hard to find . The property was lovely & warm on arrival & most importantly spotlessly clean. It can be tricky to find dog friendly properties that donât have any signs that there have been dogs there , but Sans Souci definitely comes through on this . We visited in the week before Christmas & the tree / decorations were a nice surprise. The kitchen is spacious & well equipped, leading on to the enclosed garden. The lounge is very comfortable with a large corner sofa . All 3 bedrooms have excellent storage, especially the 2 upstairs which have walk in wardrobes. Lovely thick fluffy towels , and crisp white sheets . The welcome pack was incredible, and contained local produce including jam , chutneys & free range eggs . Excellent coffee machine with plenty of pods . Another plus which can be overlooked, is we didnât arrive to overflowing bins , with a request to âput them out â etc. They were discreetly taken care of whilst we were there . Sans Souci is definitely one of the best holiday lets we have stayed in , & we would 100% recommend.

A really lovely cottage which looked even better in real life than in the pictures, we really enjoyed our stay.
The location is excellent, close walking distance to the seafront and local shops and restaurants. Comfy beds, great facilities, free parking on the road outside, and nice little touches like providing dishwasher tablets, tea bags and biscuits. I would definitely stay here again. A couple of little notes for the property owner though; the oven needs cleaning, when we tried to use it we immediately set off the smoke alarms so reverted to using the hob instead. Also, the notes ask that guests put rubbish in the dustbins in the garage, but does not include any info on how to get into the garage! We searched all over for a key and called the customer service number to ask and were told that someone would get back to us but no one did. By sheer fluke one of the kids was nosing in cupboards while we were loading up the car to leave and found the garage key so we were able to put our rubbish away as requested, but we had missed the local rubbish collection by then. I think these instructions need to be clearer or the key more visible. Both small issues though and wouldn't stop me staying again or recommending to others.

My family and I recently returned from a 5-day stay at San Souci Seahouses, and it was absolutely perfect.
We stayed as a family of 5, including our dog Luna, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The house itself is beautifully decorated, with every detail carefully thought out by the owners. The upstairs bedrooms have walk-in wardrobes, and the downstairs bathroom even has a magnifier on the mirror. The kitchen is well-equipped with added extras, and the lounge features the comfiest couch we've ever had the pleasure of sitting on. The little welcome basket was a lovely gesture, Luna loved her ball for the beach -thank you. In terms of location, the house is just a short walk away from several charming little pubs where we enjoyed delicious lunches and dinners. The Coop, where we could get our essential groceries, was also just a few minutes away. Additionally, the harbour, where we discovered the most amazing donuts, was only a 5-minute walk from the house. And within a 10 minute walk, we found ourselves on the most picturesque beaches we've ever seen. Overall, this little hideaway was perfect for our family, and we can't wait to return in the future.
