What our customers say about their holidays

Property was lovely and clean.
However we encountered an issue with the oven which tripped the electrics. This has obviously been an ongoing issue as there was a sign advising not to use certain appliances at the same time as it would trip. As a consequence we could not cook any food. The owner reimbursed us for the cost of a takeaway. However the location meant we had to make unnecessary trips out as a family at additional cost as there wasnât anything nearby to eat. Weâd also purchased food to be cooked in the oven which was frozen and that had to be thrown away as we hadnât brought anything suitable to transport it home. Additional unnecessary cost and we were refunded £34 for one takeaway. We also had to have our stay interrupted by the maintenance team coming to measure for a new oven , appreciate they need to do this in order to fix it but it didnât help us feel settled and relaxed. Really disappointed as we had to completely change our plans and go out when the intention was to stay in and not travel (which I do for a living hence needing the break). Lodge and location are lovely, shame about the issue we encountered letting it down.

Fox Cottage is set in a peaceful and beautiful location yet within short car journey to a lovely village pub and shops in Settle. It's simple structure blends well into the hillside and the open plan interior is both stylish and comfortable. Light streams in through the large patio windows and the views are amazing. A curious hare came up on the patio to gaze in at us on the first evening. The kitchen area was fully equipped with good quality appliances, tools, spices, washing machine and dishwasher tablets etc. The second bedroom was able to be made up into a twin bedded room. We didn't use the outside gas B B Q, but it looked very impressive. Plenty of outdoor seating to relax on. Toweling robes were provided for the hot tub and sauna, both of which were amazing. An outside dog shower and towel was by the front door.. The weather was great but even had not been, there are board games, books, television, wifi etc. and Fox Cottage itself helped to make our holiday so special, we had a lovely time.

We've just returned from a 4 night break at the Cedar cabin, family of 4 (kids aged 2 and 5).
They loved the little play area and just the vast area they had to run around, it felt very safe for them. The cabin itself is nice and cosy but feel it needs a little updating, and a good clean! There was a lot of dust on top of the doors and down the sides of the bed, and the bed sheets had a few marks on them. We stayed in the double room, the bed wasn't the comfiest and there was only one pillow each. Also, my partner is 6'4 so couldn't stretch out because of the panel at the end of the bed. My son (5) slept in the twin beds pushed together and our daughter was in the travel cot that was provided. They both slept absolutely fine. It stated on the ad that there was a BBQ but we never found it. I'm sure if we'd asked for one though, it would have been provided. There was plenty to do within a short distance of the site, our favourite was Morecombe seaside town which the kids loved and was only a 35 minute drive away. We would definitely return back to Pinecroft in the future!

We felt for the value we paid for the 2 nights that such a late check in and such an early check out doesn't merit the value of the cost.
There was only one other small pod in use and the housekeeping had completed the cleaning of that by 10.30am. Especially in the off peak week day season these could be adjusted slightly. Going by that example we could've had more time in our pod on our entry and exit days. It was very nice to have the cookies, coffee and tea etc however there was no milk so these were somewhat unusable until we had to travel back to Ingleton to get milk. We had a short power cut which was resolved very quickly by the owners which was appreciated. Overall a beautiful location, pods were modern, clean and well set up. I would put these in the 4 star bracket but little things such as milk or even small toiletries would have made the difference to make it a 5 star to us. Highly recommend for a quiet staycation with plenty of walks and a great pub 3/4 mile walk under Ribblehead Viaduct. Great video of pods on Instagram under Sykescottages
