We loved our stay at Scapa Lodge. It was well equipped and substantial to our needs. We enjoyed visiting the area. The owners were very welcoming, friendly and helpful with regards to what could be found locally. We visited The Plough & Sail pub in Snape for our wedding anniversary meal - the homemade food was delicious and the service excellent. We visited Aldeburgh and the Scallop Sculpture, Woodbridge, Orford Castle and Quayside, Sutton Hoo, Tunstall Forest and Thorpeness. We hope to return to the cottage another year.

Lovely little chalet with great sea views. Fully equipped and very comfortable beds. Nice little welcome pack, tea, sugar, milk but no coffee, but we always take our own anyway! Great to have salt, vinegar & pepper for the obligatory fish & chips. Pub is a short skip along the promenade to the right of property and very friendly. The Waterfront restaurant looked lovely but was all fully booked so reserve way in advance. The best thing is it's all dog friendly! Would return.

We have enjoyed walking from the door to Snape Maltings through Tunstall Forest and also walks from Aldeburgh, RSPB Minsmere, Rendlesham Forest, Orford & Southwold. The cottage is perfect for 2 (and our dog). Brilliant location, secure parking and you are on the beach in minutes. Could not fault the cleanliness of the property and it was really well equipped with everything we needed for a self catering stay. The location is great - if you wanted to you can easily park up for the week and not think about using the car with the beach on your doorstep and shops, the pub and a great chippy in easy walking distance.
