  A resounding success for many reasons.

  We were lucky to have pretty good weather overall, against the grain of the forecast which helps! A nice, clean and tidy, upside down cottage with some old fittings remaining, adding to the charm. All expected items were there, but the bonu or the summer heat is that, with the Granary partly submerged into terra firma, the north-facing bedrooms were nice and cool. Wetwang is perfectly placed for all points around the area. Beverley to Scarborough to Pickering to York are all in easy reach. Nearby Driffield has everything you need, including cheapest petrol around,but mainly plenty of places to eat. Plenty of cafes around and about so no-one ever goes hungry. Wetwang even has a small fish and chip place. If just relaxing, the views across the fields from the cottage to the North are lovely and there are paths to walk. What's not to like?

  The accommodation was lovely and cosy with wonderful views of the countryside, including some horses and rabbits in the field nearby to my daughters delight.

  The kitchen was well appointed and had all that we needed, The welcome pack was useful and helped us to settle in. The whole cottage was lovely for our stay as it included bike storage in the garage. We enjoyed a lovely meal at the Victoria Inn which is a short walk from the accommodation and we went back for a desert another day as their portion sizes are large and the food is very tasty. While we were staying at the cottage, the village had a scarecrow trail and the owner left us a map for us to wander around the village and spot the scarecrow and try to find Snow White's missing dwarves. The villagers were very friendly and loved to have a chat. As it was half term a few families were wandering around the village doing the scarecrow trail as well. We would definitely recommend this cottage to our friends and family.

  At first sight, the apartment looked very clean and inviting.

  However, take a closer look like under the beds and you will find that not to be the case, remove the cushions from the settee to find crumbs and debris. All the pan lids were missing, no potato peeler, and a shortage of teaspoons. There were no cleaning facilities, not even a pan and brush. I would expect it reasonable that the owner would supply a couple of bin liners but no so. Finally, there were soap dispensers in the toilet and bathroom which were empty. I did not expect that I would need to purchase essentials on arrival at the property. I understand that due to Covid and the high demand for holiday rentals owners see it as an opportunity to increase their prices but I do expect by doing the same they need to be on the ball.

  We enjoyed our stay but there was some issues.

  First I got stuck in the bathroom because of the lock, luckily the owners came quickly to let me out but it's not the point. Either fix the lock or remove it. Secondly the bedroom blinds make it very difficult to get a good night sleep, there is a light outside the building so with it being light grey blinds light easily came in so it was difficult to sleep. Please change the blinds to black or add some curtains. And final thing is the bath shower, the glass covering is not enough, whenever I had a shower water would get all over the floor which made it dangerous when getting out of the bath/shower. Please get a floor mat or a shower curtain. Other than these issues it is a nice apartment but I have stayed in better.

  Fantastic fresh airy accommodation and so welcoming.

  Ruth the owner certainly went the extra mile in leaving her welcome for our arrival... small touches but so much appreciated like vases of daffodils, milk, cake, and dog biscuits for Moss and a personal Welcome Card. Carpets had only been laid 3 weeks ago so were quite relieved weather was superb while we were there for the week. King Size Bed far more comfortable than our own which made for great sleep. The Granary is situated on a quiet lane well back from the busy main through road - I never heard a thing and such a light sleeper. Wetwang is good starting point for many places to visit in the area - loved Driffield Canal Walk, Pocklington Canal and enjoyed shopping in Beverley.
