What our customers say about their holidays

Weâve hired many a self catering place over the years but you really couldnât wish for a better bolt hole to spend a weekâ¦.
or two! An amazing space for a group of 6-8 people, spacious enclosed garden, perfect if you own a dog and you also want a bit of privacy. Hot tub, garden chairs, loungers, large table to sit and eat at. Inside is a wonderful little rabbit warren downstairs. The bunk beds with separate shower room and loo plus the king bedroom with en-suite is on the ground floor. Upstairs two other bedrooms and a shared bathroom. Downstairs the kitchen is amazingly well stocked with pans, dishes, crock ware cups and glasses. We managed to cook up a roast dinner and had plenty of serving dishes etc to achieve this without any hassle. Biggest dining table you could ask for when self catering for the larger group. TV lounge spacious and very comfortable, two other rooms including a conservatory if you want to peel off from your group for a bit of quiet time. Even a utility room with washer & dryer, airier or pegs and basket if the weather is good to hang your swimming costumes outside on the line provided. Winterton on sea is just delightful, sea, sand dunes and cafés for a cuppa and something to eat after a long beach walk. If you want something less challenging underfoot (the sand dunes can be a bit hard on the ole calf muscles! :0) Sea Palling beach is a short drive with again a lovely sandy beach and café. Norwich, beautiful architecture and shopping plus is a short train ride from Gt Yarmouth if you donât fancy driving. Evening eating, take aways available nearby and the Fishermanâs Return is a must, generous portions, lots of inside and outside seating with a friendly atmosphere. Finally, Nick the owner gives you all the information you require at the start of your holiday with contact numbers if you have any questions or problems (which we didnât) lovely guy who deserves a five star review for offering a wonderful place to spend your holidays - thank you Nick

We have had a pleasant stay at chalet 468.
On arrival we were a little surprised to find the property in the centre of a row of 3 properties, as the information does not seem to mention this, nor do the pictures give this away. (Just a FYI, the walls are pretty thin, and on our last night noise from one of the neighbours went on until after 11pm, keeping our kids awake - wasnât a party or anything like that, just loud voices and banging about). The welcome pack and information was a nice touch. The beds were fairly comfortable and space worked for us for our 5 day break. The chalet was clean and tidy, although definitely in need of some general maintenance. Nothing was urgent or adversely effected our stay, but a couple of points worth noting: the mirror in the twin bedroom had at some point clearly come loose from the backing. The backing is still on the wall but the mirror is siting on the floor. This could possibly be problematic with young children. The sink basin in the bathroom is very loose and definitely needs some attention. The location is perfect for exploring the coast and the town has enough facilities that you can stay close to the chalet also. Hemsby has a firework display every Tuesday in peak season, something we didnât know before arrival. We were able to see the fireworks from the car parking area, which saved us fighting with the crowds to go and watch them, a bonus for sure. Our dog doesnât care about fireworks but there were a lot of dogs about who clearly donât feel the same, so if you plan on bringing a dog in peak season, itâs worth being aware (fireworks at 10pm on every Tuesday). Overall we enjoyed our stay.

When we arrived in the chalet we were all overwhelmed with a fusty/ mould smell that even my sons commented on.
The property pictures were very deceiving as the property was much smaller than expected with dated furniture & decor. Mainly our biggest disappointment was the cleanliness of the chalet. It hadnât been cleaned properly after the last guests as there were visible hand marks on several of the windows, dusty surfaces, the bath & sink were still visibly dirty and the floor was filthy & stained. The bedding did not smell clean at all so much so that I had to strip all bedding and take it to a local laundrette. The owners were informed of our disgust at the state of the property & came to apologise ( it seems they are managing the cleaning themselves- I did advise they might need to get a professional in between guests!!! Compensation was offered but never followed through with. We also saw them on 2 other occasions during a walk & when the door lock stopped working. They were quick to respond & assist in fixing the door. My husband has cancer and is undergoing treatment so we were hoping for a stress ( and germ ) free stay ⦠however I ended up spending hours cleaning ( with products I had to purchase myself) just to ensure it was disinfected enough to be safe for him during our stay. Had it not been for our young sonâs excitement for the holiday we would have leftâ¦. The walls were paper thin & we were woken by the neighbours shouting at their kids when they rolled in around midnight! In a positive note the chalet is well situated within Hemsby. We had a lovely week when not in the accommodation.

Holiday park is in a good location & well maintained.
First impression on entering the chalet was the smell of damp which wasnât great. The welcome pack was a nice addition with bread, milk, etc. this does seem to be pretty standard with privately owned accommodation. The chalet could do with a thorough clean, floors need mopping, cobwebs, bathroom needed attention, bath & floor not clean & sink loose, unsure why a cleaning cloth had been left crumpled in the corner of the bath. Rusty air freshener can, shampoo, etc. dispensers but didnât look particularly hygienic & a used handwash, if those items are provided would be better if they didnât look used. Rusty towel rack & bedding & towels smelt musty. Great to have an information booklet, but no mention in it that the switches for the hot water & shower are in the cupboard in the kitchen, wouldâve been helpful to have hot water on arrival rather than to find out late in the evening that we had to turn it on ourselves, likewise with the shower. Hot water in the bathroom sink barely a trickle. Property does feel slightly run down, curtains hanging off, screws not fully screwed in, paintwork could do with freshening up & the general feeling of dampness wasnât nice. Generally the chalet is lacking some TLC & was rather disappointing.

We had a wonderful and supremely relaxing week away at Fallowfield.
It is an absolutely superb, spacious property and Nick, the owner, was really helpful and responsive. The facilities were perfect in every way and if you have dogs or kids the enclosed garden was brilliant as they could run around to their heart's content and you could sit in the hot tub and watch them too if you liked, make use of the patio furniture or sit in the conservatory. It was minutes to the beach (via some steps) and the beach cafe wasn't far along, the village shop and tea room was lovely and the Fisherman's Return was great too. The owners also put an information booklet in the property to suggest other places to visit and I felt that nothing was too much trouble. It would be great for a large or extended family and there was plenty of parking with two sets of well built gates so you could shuffle cars around if you needed to. It is all very well considered at Fallowfield. We booked the property because our motorhome had a fault but I'm so glad we got to stay at Fallowfield. It was absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much Nick !
