  We arrived late Thursday evening and was greeted by the hosts/owners of the barn a fabulous couple that really care about your stay and experience.

  They even helped us in with luggage etc.. the barn is amazing, everything that you need, very, very, very clean and very well maintained. Ample hot water, all things you would need home from home. The barn is situated just outside Ludlow which is a fab market town, and within an hour of Worcester / Hereford etc. The gardens of the barn are amazing all very peaceful and tranquil to relax after a busy day out and about. Ample car parking. We had a dog with us that loved the barn and the driveway down as grassed area to smell and walk overlooking a fishing lake. All very private and very perfect. If you book the barn don’t use the postcode as it will take you miles down a one car track, go to cravens arms first then put the postcode in, which the host told us when we arrived, I wouldn’t worry about the track either as the track only houses 4-6 houses and you would go down the track to anywhere else, in other words you don’t meet traffic. All very, very perfect, I wish the hosts best of luck. And many thanks for our short notice stay.

  Property states for 6 people.

  But only has four chairs in kitchen so if there are more than 4 of you will have to have meals will have to be staggers. The misleading details state three bathrooms there are only two. The shower upstairs which is so small if you are over 6ft is not fit for purpose. The other “bathroom” is in fact just a toilet with no shower or bath. The one downstairs is the size of a cupboard and smelt of damp and had silver fish in it. The height of the rooms are not mentioned in the details but if you are over 5”10 and normal stand to use the loo you can’t you will have to sit down !! The carpets were dirty in the en-suite and the decor dated. The 93rd birthday week that we were celebrating was ruined we had no alternative but to find a more suitable property the next day. But have been refused any refund or compensation. It’s only right that if anyone is thinking of booking that the photos and descriptions are not correct

  Had a lovely few days, owner and key holder very friendly.

  Great location in a nice area which was great for walking and the pubs were good (nice beer) with everyone being very friendly. In terms of the cottage I would recommend maybe a table and chairs in the garden itself (most of it is used for fruit and veg but there could be room and this might be nicer than the seating outside the kitchen which due to weather felt a bit dark and damp - we were lucky rest of week with dry weather hence maybe seating further down would be a nice option if there for longer. The cottage has been done out really nicely- very cosy downstairs with a really nice size bedroom upstairs. If you struggle with mobility the stairs do have a narrow footing and the bathroom is downstairs :) Kitchen had everything we needed and really helpful to have some cleaning products available (not always the case). Overall a great stay and one we would do again.

  We had a splendid week at Bullfinch cottage, Kingsland.

  It was easy to find, even though we weren’t familiar with the district, especially with its own sign at the end of the road. The parking space in front of the property was good. The cottage was delightful, immaculate, comfortable and with everything we needed to make us feel this was the place for us. The kitchen was well equipped, the dining area excellent and we enjoyed relaxing in front of the smart TV before repairing to the excellent bedrooms. It was really peaceful to be in the quiet depth of the countryside, while within easy reach of shops and towns. Every day we were able to visit a place of interest including Eastnor Castle and Brockhampton Estate and the jewel of the holiday, the Mappa Mundi in Hereford Cathedral. We can recommend Bullfinch as a tranquil haven as well as an excellent base to explore the region. Oh yes we want to return!!! Maureen

  The warm and friendly welcome from Jan and Des ensured we felt relaxed and happy to be here from the outset.

  They were helpful and concerned that we had everything we needed. Pool Barn is a tastefully and beautifully furnished and decorated barn conversion in a stunning setting with the pool, garden and extensive grounds. It was clean, cosy, warm, comfortable and well equipped. The view through the lounge French window as we relaxed with a coffee after our days out was truly lovely. Close by in Craven Arms is the excellent Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre, offering lots of information, good facilities and food and a starting point for a variety of walks. A lovely, unspoilt area with lots to see and do – a highlight for us was our Long Mynd walk starting and finishing at the National Trust visitor centre in Carding Mill Valley. A brilliant area to visit and Pool Barn was the perfect base for our week in Shropshire.
