What our customers say about their holidays
Ginni - Verified booking
The holiday cottage itself was lovely, big, well equipped and with a great enclosed garden.
However, it wasnât particularly clean and two of the loo seats were loose, there was mould in the shower grouting and the sheets were stained, as were the towels. The initial view of the outside was alarming as the property sits behind a derelict pub and the front looks generally uncared for. Our main issue was the lack of welcome and hospitality by the owner, Debbie. We got off on the wrong foot I think because when we arrived we nipped out to get shopping and stock up for the week leaving our dogs behind - they are extremely well behaved and we bring our own camera to monitor them. I admit that I completely neglected to check that Debbie would be okay with this because I holiday several times a year in dog-friendly properties and have never had an issue before. We were gone for 2 hrs and 30 mins - the camera footage can verify and the dogs barked once when people were present on the driveway. We came back to be handed a screen shot of the property rules stating that dogs should not be left in the property by Debbieâs sister but no other conversation. I immediate text Debbie apologising for not checking and assuring her that I would respect her rules going forward - she responded 24 hrs later saying that it was distressing to hear the dogs bark âall dayâ - absolutely NOT our dogs. Debbie also told us that she had âfamilyâ staying in her âlaundry roomâ - a one bedroom dwelling just 20 feet from the door of the bungalow. Her âfamilyâ consisted of several people, who slept in the laundry room and also in a van on the driveway. They would bang the doors to the van as they went back and forth until quite late into the night (past 11pm) which woke our small children up on several occasions. We found menâs underwear in one of the bedrooms and pyjamas and a wallet in another bedroom with a driving licence in that seemed to match the identity of one of Debbieâs âfamilyâ members, (Photos available) and post and deliveries were made to the bungalow whilst we were there. When I told Debbie about the left belongings via text, I received no response at all. There was no cleaning equipment at the property either - we like to at least hoover at some point during the week - although Debbie did lend us her hoover on request. All in all, we felt generally unwelcome and it was a relief to leave at the end of the week

Wow!! From the amazing views we were met with on our approach in the car, to the quaint but modern apartment that made an unforgettable family holiday
. Glan Y mor is truly a hidden gem. The apartment was spacious with a relatively new kitchen and shower room and had everything needed to make us feel at home. My favourite area was the snug window seat where I spent much time reading and relaxing whilst looking out at the sea. I also enjoyed many a morning brew on the patio area taking in the same view and watching the world go by. Fortunately/Unfortunately our week coincided with the heatwave so my sunbathing was cut short. However if there was a parasol provided I would have been out there all day! ( My only niggle) Beds and sofa were extremely comfortable, my 8 year old slept better than at home in his own bed-Which resulted in happy parents. The towels provided were of good quality ( John Lewis) and they were plenty big enough to wrap around myself after a shower. ( Iâm a size 10/12) It was a bonus to have a TV in each room! Yes we were lucky enough to receive Netflix, albeit we did bring an Amazon stick with us as we donât take these things for granted. Iâm not going to comment on cleanliness as I am the owner of a cleaning business so Iâm a very harsh critic and will ALWAYS find something⦠However, I donât have any qualms with returning so Iâll let you make your own conclusions. The Amroth Arms served great food and were very accommodating and all of the staff in the shops were so friendly. We booked a boat trip to Caldy Island ( A must) which departs from the beach at Tenby- whilst waiting for the boat we treated ourselves to a lobster roll and crab sandwich from the little seafood cabin. We also visited Folly Farm in Narbeth and easily spent the day there, they do amazing burgers!! Overall we had a genuine, positive experience and without a shadow of a doubt will definitely return to Amroth next year. I can guarantee that if you book and stay then youâll find yourself returning too.

Thank you for your email reminding us to leave the flat as we found it.
Whilst Glan Y Mor looked clean when we arrived there are several points I would like to make: Baking tray, rack and roasting pan in the oven had clearly not been cleaned properly in a long time and were rusted and unusable. Wooden utensils are extremely unhygienic and we would not use them No kitchen tongs or slotted spoon Outlet at back of fridge is in need of a good clean and sterilisation. Indicative of fridge not being cleaned adequately. Laundry powder drawer on washing machine is dirty with mould and the machine smelled. Pillows are so thin they could be used for origami. Towels are not adult size, are thin and of poor quality. Thankfully I brought my own. Armchairs and cushions need a deep clean. Overflow outlets in basins are brown with mould and need attention. Not properly cleaned. Mould around shower base and tiles. Paintwork in several areas is chipped/dirty. Although I have a Netflix account, this could not be connected. Other clients have made the same complaint in the guest book. After stripping the beds as requested, I have also found stained mattress and pillow protectors and dirty toilet bins. Instead of asking clients to ensure the flat is clean and tidy for the cleaners, maybe you should ensure that your cleaners do their job properly. Glan y Mor is in the perfect location but is, sadly, far from perfect. I have taken photographs to support my claims and prevent any possible charges. If this is the standard we can expect from Sykes properties, especially at the start of the season, I we will not be booking with you in the future.

We have enjoyed a marvellous holiday with both our boys, their wives, our grandchildren and a dog in Stoney Cottage.
The accommodation totally met our needs and we were very comfortable in this clean, well kept environment. The beds were very comfortable with lovely fresh linen. The bathrooms, especially the shower room, were large and the shower was powerful. The three comfortable sofas in the large lounge/diner meant that we could all easily relax together in front of a very nice fire when required. The heating was good throughout. The dog and our grandchildren were able to play safely on the patio. The kitchen was more than well supplied with all the utensils, cutlery, pots and pans dishes/mugs that we needed to self cater for our large party. It was great that so many household items were supplied at the sinks. We appreciated the welcome pack, especially the welsh cakes! Tim was always on hand if we had any questions or needs. His advice about where to visit in the local area was very helpful, along with the very well prepared handbook. The cottage is very well placed for visits to so many lovely beaches and towns within a fifteen to twenty minute drive. There was a park for the children that was a short walk away and plenty of walks for the dog. There was plenty of parking behind the gates for our three cars and those of the visitors to the other cottages. We have thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Stoney Cottage and would definitely book again in the future. Thank you!

Had a lovely stay, the views are brilliant and the location is superb.
A great base for visiting the surrounding Pembrokeshire attractions. Great food at the pubs and cafes, and lovely sitting out on the decking watching the tide come in. The apartment was lovely and spacious with the beautiful views available when you open the living room and bedroom windows fully to see, smell and hear the sounds of the sea. A few downsides, there is a damp problem in the bathroom and the shower hadn't been cleaned as well as we had hoped. When we contacted the owners they arranged the cleaners to come round and sort it. There was a strong smell of damp when we arrived, but this improved over the week with us opening windows (the air fresheners need refilling!). One bath towel per person and no hand towels provided. No extra bin bags left just the main one in the kitchen. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed Amroth, and the apartment was a great place to stay, we will definitely return
