  The property is well presented.

  There is a large veranda which is pleasant to sit on. The kitchen is well resourced. There was a small carton of milk, some Welsh cakes and two toilet rolls provided for our arrival. Dogs are welcome on the site. The site has a dog shop and a new doggie shower/ wash facility which is very helpful. One of the local beaches, Cei Bach, is dog friendly and many of the cafes & shops in the area also welcome dogs. There is plenty of parking. The property is set in an old holiday park which is being renovated. Older chalets are being replaced with newer lodges like The Ridgeway. As such, there was extensive building works taking place during our stay. This included a large concrete mixer driving past the lodge to pour concrete onto empty plots, work people digging all day, and gravel being continually moved across the site past the lodge. It was, on occasions, quite noisy. There was an unpleasant smell of sewage for three days. It stopped after the site’s maintenance team spent a day drilling and digging in an area close to the property. The unlimited WiFi was extremely intermittent. There was generally no connection at all after around 4.00pm. We did contact the owners about this. It was frustrating because we needed to be able to work and could not. Other holiday makers we spoke to did not have the same problem. The television also did not initially work. Somehow it was not tuned in. Eventually we did manage to get live tv after retuning the set.

  My wife and I have just spent a lovely week at Cwtsh Cragen New Quay.

  On arrival we were greeted with a lovely card from our hosts welcoming us as their very first guests. To mark the occasion they had left us a nice bottle of wine and a welcome pack containing some local Welsh produce. Which was very thoughtful of them and gratefully received. The apartment is located in a very quiet area and appeared to be newly decorated and spotlessly clean. There are two quite large bedrooms with plenty of storage and hanging space. The living area contained mostly new furniture and the kitchen/dining area also contained mostly new electrical appliances and an excellent assortment of cooking utensils and cutlery items. The smart TV and Wi-Fi worked fine and there was also a selection of books to read. Everything you could require in a holiday rental seems to have been catered for. Cwtsh Cragen is situated right on the edge of the coastal path/Dylan Thomas Trail that can be accessed from the bottom of the communal lawn. A short walk along this path brings you to a flight of steel stairs giving you access to the beach where when the tide goes out you can take a pleasant stroll along the sand into New Quay harbour and town. We are both well into our 70’s and had no problems with access to any of these areas. Hoping to visit you again later in the year until then a massive thank you to our hosts.   This lodge was absolutely lovely.

  Modern, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Everything we needed plus so many extras. Great smart TVs, excellent WiFi, lovely furniture on both verandas. The bedding was pure cotton and smelt so fresh. It is also very dog friendly. We were very happy with the lodge. The park itself was beautiful, stunning views of the woods , well spaced out lodges and it looks well kept and maintained. The only draw back for us was the lack of any clubhouse/bar/socialising area. This is a real shame because we do like to walk out in the evening with our dog and the addition of a place to have a drink with our dog would have made our experience perfect. In light of this we would be unlikely to return - however this is absolutely no reflection on the lodge itself which was stunning. If it's total peace and tranquility you are after this is the place to go.

  Just spent a lovely week at Cwtsh Cragen.

  This is our second time at this property, our first stay was in May 2022 when we were the very first guests. After two and a half years we expected some signs of wear and tear but no, the property was still in immaculate condition, spotlessly clean and all appliances and fixtures still looked as good as new. The property contains everything you would expect or need of an holiday rental and is an absolute credit to Claire and her staff. We would definitely recommend Cwtsh Cragen and hope to be visiting again next spring. We have been visiting New Quay for nearly sixty years, now in our eighties this is the first time we have stayed at this time of year. Still a fantastic place, much quieter than usual, but most amenities still open. Absolutely love it and hope to be able to visit for many more years!!!

  This is an amazing property. It has everything you need for a lovely relaxing holiday and if you like peace and quiet then this is the place for you! The owners left a complimentary bag of goodies which was a very nice touch. Everything was spotlessly clean. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment. Outside there is the use of a hot tub, a bag of logs was supplied and a shop not far away stocks more if needed. Table tennis was outside too which went down well with all of us, including the grandchildren! Lots of other outside toys for the kids supplied to use too. Plenty of seating areas outside, including a couple of sun loungers. All in all, a beautiful place to stay. Can't wait to return next year!
