What our customers say about their holidays

Just book it honestly.
My partner and I booked a weekend away here to relax away from our busy stressful jobs. The place is like a retreat. The bedroom in particular is so comfortable and calm with the views of the farm land with horses in. It smelled amazing, the bed was the comfiest weâve ever slept in. Bathroom is lovely and modern, two can fit in the bathtub! We loved the addition of the log burner and the fact the whole house heating is controlled by the flick of a button. The smart tv in the living room has Phillips hue lighting which changes with whatever you have on the tv! This made for some awesome movie nights. Overall this is the best cottage we have had the pleasure of staying in. We were very sad to leave it and hope to return in the near future. The welcome package of Welsh cakes, tea, coffee and Prosecco was greatly appreciated but we would suggest possibly having some milk in the package for the hot drinks. The only other improvement we noted was that the sofa could do with updating itâs pretty flat and deflated. Thank you for having us!!

Overall we liked our stay in Woodloft Cottage and may stay there again in the future.
That said, when we arrived we were unpleasantly surprised by the amount of cobwebs along the ceiling throughout the house and especially in the bathroom. We also found a lot of kitchen utensils in the drawers that were not properly cleaned. Additionally, the ceiling is rather low for two very average Dutch people (approx. 1.81m tall), but this never really posed a serious problem after we got used to it. I did bump my head a few times on the low beams though. The cottage is very cosy and well-furnished. The kitchen and living room are well-equipped and the bed was fine. We did occasionally hear some noise from upstairs as others have pointed out, but this was comparable to the noise we sometimes hear from our upstairs neighbour in our own flat. Perhaps previous guests had the misfortune of having very noisy upstairs neighbours or the privilege of not living in a flat. All in all, we liked our stay in Woodloft Cottage and would recommend it to others.

We had a wonderful stay at The Lodge, from arrival it felt like a home from home.
The layout of the ground floor is excellent and we made the most of the amazing views from both the conservatory to the front, and orangery to the rear. We were fortunate to have had a sunny and hot week, so the bifold windows in the orangery were always open in an evening. Just the sounds of sheep and birds it was bliss. The property is extremely comfortable and thoughtfully furnished. A couple of niggles which let it down slightly - on arrival the kitchen (orangery) floor had not been swept, and there were crumbs over the worktops. It didn't take long for us to rectify this, but it would have been nice not to have needed to. Also, the front garden was in some need of maintenance, the grass desperately needed cutting and the flowers were struggling through the weeds. Elsdon is a great spot for exploring and The Lodge is ideally situated. We can't wait to visit again next year.

On arrival at The Haven we had a lovely warm welcome from Mary the owner to hand over the key.
Inside she had left some tasty homemade treats and some flowers which were a pleasant touch. The Haven is light and airy with modern furniture exactly like the photos online. We found everything we needed there and everything was spotless. The bed was extremely comfortable and we both slept exceptionally well. Wacton is very quiet at night with hardly any passing traffic. On finding out we are vegetarians Mary must have researched Long Stratton because she texted me to tell me of a local vegetarian cafe, a very thoughtful gesture. All in all Mary is a lovely host, the couple next door are lovely and friendly and The Haven is perfect for peace and quiet after a busy day sightseeing. Itâs a perfect base for visiting North Norfolk, the east coast, and villages to the west or south of Norwich. Would we recommend The Haven? You bet we would.

We received a very warm welcome from owners, Mary, Micheal, and friendly tail wags from Monty the dog, on our arrival at The Haven.
They were so helpful during our stay and so were the friendly neighbors next door. The fresh flowers, along with the delicious homemade goodies, were a lovely touch. It was a most peaceful and relaxing break away at the Haven, and so enjoyed sitting on the private patio, in the pretty sun-soaked garden. The annex is a delightful retreat and within easy reach of the beaches, boating on The Norfolk Broads, local walks, pretty villages, and good pubs to dine at. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped along with the light modern-decorated lounge too, which I'm sure would be very cozy with the wood burner in the colder months. There are so many things to do nearby that we are very much looking forward to a return stay! Mandy & Alan June 2023.
