We wanted a long weekend within easy reach of Hexham so this cottage was ideal. It was lovely to have fresh scones on arrival. We also liked having a local paper to read. A quiet rural location but with easy access to Corbridge, Hexham & roads to other parts of Northumberland. High quality furniture and equipment and some very detailed instructions for local walks in the information folder. A pity we didn’t have time to do them! Owners were friendly and welcoming. We are regular visitors to Northumberland, this is our 2nd stay in Coquet Cottages this year and our seventh in total. So obviously you’re getting it right!

We love this cottage, it’s our favourite. The hosts are very welcoming, the cottage is spotless and furnishings very classy. Lovely big bed, extremely quiet. We slept well, went out in the local area daytime and relaxed and cooked in the evenings. It’s our third time here and will definitely come back in the future. It’s the smartest property we have ever stayed in. The decor is very tastefully put together. There are lots of walks nearby and only a few mile from Corbridge and Hexham. Carole cooked us a meal one night and it was delicious and we felt thoroughly spoilt.

Very good, everything we needed. We were looking for a cottage in a quiet village away from the fireworks as our dog is very frightened by them. The whole welcome basket was very good. The wine was very well received. The whole cottage is very well appointed, we have stayed in a number of Coquet cottages but this is the first one near Hadrian’s Wall and it was good to visit other attractions in this area. The owner was very helpful and gave us lots of suggestions for walks and dog friendly pubs.

Just had a 3 night stay in the cottage. It was exactly as stated on the website so we were delighted. Jeff and Carol were excellent hosts. This was very much a chilled break for us so we just did some exploring and I relived my youth by visiting Keilder. On our last night we sampled Carol’s cooking. It was fantastic and we sat in the conservatory area. They had even lit lots of candles. Highly recommended. We had a fabulous 3 days – all went too fast. FAB-U-LOUS!

We had a fabulous weekend at Orchard House Barn, The cottage is definitely 5* it is pristine. The owners Jeff and Carol are lovely, we took advantage of the offer of a meal cooked by Carol, it was superb. Jeff is a mine of information regarding meals and areas to visit and explore. A brilliant first post lockdown break away. The cottage was spotless, all equipment was good, the owners Jeff and Carol could not be more helpful. The scones were delicious too!.
