What our customers say about their holidays

The Port House is a lovely âupside downâ home over three floors.
Very light, warm and airy, with a great family space on the top floor, with a superb view over the single line of rooftops in front, you can see the sea, the shoreline and the harbour wall with a full 180 degree view - simply stunning. Plenty space for us, our grown up son and his lovely GF, space for cosy catch ups around the log burner and space for space! Tristan left a lovely hamper with local treats, and milk in the fridge for our morning coffee, he was also around and about, and very open and friendly, happy to help should that be needed. We stayed a week, and ate so well, Swim for brunch, several coffee shops along the front, The Royal Standard and Harbour Inn for dinner, The Oyster and Fish and Cobb Inn for lunch, and bar stools at Lyme Bay cafe when a celebration âneededâ a bottle of champagne! The beach is wonderful, although I didnât brave sea swimming in November, lots of people were, and just tucked in the harbour is a sauna run by a lovely local lady I spoke to after her morning swim and my morning run along the shoreline. A much needed restorative week of rest, relaxation and recharge after a very busy year. Happy to recommend and will absolutely return.

This apartment is all about a fabulous bay window .
It looks out on the Harbour side, the lifting bridge, the far headland, the sea, the breakwater, lots of boats ( of many sizes ), which come and go, and the rise and fall of the tides. The Harbour side restaurants and pubs, are largely on the opposite quay, and well illuminated at night, as is the lifting bridge & old town beyond. The sun rise , and sun setting, give added drama to this wonderful view. Super wet fish shop on the other quay. It is like a deluxe pavement cafe site! In your home. The apartment is just great in most respects. Parking is less than easy, but it is a free space! A little walk away, perhaps 800/900 yards, Unloading the car has to be rushed, as it is a no parking area, except for spaces that are always occupied! The double bedroom is dark, with little natural light, The douvets were super warm. The TV needs careful handling, or it refuses to work, ( we had to get the agents to help us ). Great place, we really enjoyed our time there.

Pros: Well appointed flat, comfortable beds.
We spent a LOT of time sitting in the bay window watching the boats go by. Excellent location, we used Weymouth as a base to visit Lulworth Cove, Durdle Dor, Nothe Fort, Monkey World, Old Harry's Rock, Corfe Castle and spent our downtime in the many coffee shops around the harbour (The Library Café, just downstairs from the flat, is great, as is the Harbour Café on opposite side of harbour). Cons: As a family we like to relax and watch TV together, especially on cooler evening. The TV was not a great model. The remote did not 'talk' to the TV at all, it was not a battery problem. By Thursday the TV had scrambled the channels and all we could get was interference. This was swiftly resolved on Friday by the agent, but by the evening the remote had stopped again. I would expect, in this technical age, for there to be a smart TV, thus allowing for Netflix etc to be used. Insufficient hanging space for damp towels.

The property itself is a lovely cottage.
Unfortunately on arrival the property was extremely dirty. We had to immediately go to the local supermarket to purchase cleaning materials and spent the first two hours cleaning the property. I wish I had taken photographs. The toilets were in a dire state, we had to wash crockery/cutlery, clean out the fridge from spilt products, clean the kitchen and dust the house. It was a very disappointing start to our holidays. The cleaners on this occasion have really let your company down. The house itself is lovely, light and spacious. Would be good to put a note in the book about the games in the otterman style cabinet. We only found them on the morning we were leaving. Overall a lovely stay but as previously mentioned the cleanliness let it down.

The cottage is situated just around the corner from Hope Square in Rodwell very quiet at night, close to local pubs and small convenience store by the harbour.
Easy access via road to all attractions, Asda 5 mins drive away. The house is well furnished with good amenities, very clean, with a very comfortable bed. Very well laid out kitchen. I had a very nice stay and would recommend but these are my negative points: 1) I'm a lone female traveller. The parking permit was for a dark and unlit car park. I would have been more comfortable using another car park nearby. 2) If you have any mobility issues or are short like me using the shower will be difficult as over the bath. The side of the bath is very high, with no step platform available to get in and out although a grab handle is on side of bath.
