What our customers say about their holidays

Stayed in November for my 70th birthday.
There were 6 adults, a 20 month old baby and small dog; and we all had plenty of room. Little Picket met all our expectations in most areas and exceeded them in others. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise and very thoughtful. Access was easy using the codes provided. The bedrooms are all to a high standard and comfortable although the plumbing can be a little "quirky". The cot and highchair were supplied as promised along with a good quality stairgate. We didn't use the open fires although logs were provided and the central heating kept the house warm throughout our stay. The games room was brilliant, with lots to do and we used the tennis court everyday along with the basketball hoop. We were very grateful to see that the leaves were cleared from the tennis court regularly, a small point but a very thoughtful consideration. We had intended to do more walks but spent a lot more time on the tennis court instead! The kitchen was well equipped although we didn't use the Aga. It would have been helpful to have an instruction booklet for the induction oven but we did work it out eventually. Access was easy and Nicholas was on hand and very prompt in answering any queries we had. Nicholas is an excellent host. There is a lovely walk behind the cottage and we were not far from other walks; and Ringwood is only a short drive away. The only minor improvements (and they are minor) would be a bit more information in the accommodation booklet regarding the oven and where to dispose of the rubbish; and an OS map (although there were several booklets on recommended walks). A full set of matching wine glasses would be a good addition. The downstairs toilet seat needs repair. We would consider staying here again; it is perfect for a multi-generational family (and dog).

The description of the property was accurate in that sense it therefore met our expectations (rather than exceeded them) because we fealt we knew what to expect, not because we were in any sense disappointed.
The place was spotless. It is in a great location for a touring base of the Hampshire/Wiltshire/Dorset border area, with easy access to the New Forest and also the coast. The owners were friendly and helpful, but equally didn't impose - there for a problem if you needed, but otherwise left you to it, so that it became "your place" for the stay. The pub is literally next door, so no driving worries - although we didn't fancy it for eating, especially in the "Covid world." The ceilings in the property are low and the main room is shady rather than bright. The kitchen equipment would benefit from a corkscrew! Damerham is a livelier little place than you might anticipate from its location, so there was a bit of "breakfast time" traffic, however the description, which I read in another review, that it is noisy is an exaggeration. We'd go back!

Excellent facilities ( especially kitchen equipment) and the description of the property was very accurate.
Two wcâs on first floor was a minor inconvenience - but only in that elderly parents had to use the smallest bedroom which had very little storage space and led to a few bruised shins. Also, the curtain rail in there had a tendency to come away from the wall - which could lead to future problems. We greatly appreciated the use of the pull-down bed in the study as one family member had to work via laptop in the mornings and this was a very convenient arrangement! Overall, everyone thought it was a very good apartment and very thoughtfully arranged and furnished. (5-year old grandchild on a day-visit rated it as lovely!) The milk, butter, bread, crackers and wine which awaited us were a very welcome surprise and the book of âdomestic informationâ was one of the best weâve seen. Thank you to the hosts!

Returned home early.
Didn't like traffic noise which was very close to wall of bed room and very noisy from 5.30 on wards. Could not walk dog out side property for same reason Have always had information on Doctors, vets, and footpaths in accommodation NO info at all. In all for a sykes holiday it let us down badly, have always booked through your company but will think twice next time and may look at other companies. Just about enough kitchen utensils etc for two. Only saw owner on arrival and when we loaded suitcase in car on leaving. Didn't like having to walk along busy road to unload car from one side of building across front of owners part to gate at other side. Can not understand while remarks in visitors book were on the whole good as perhaps they had not stayed in many other selfcatering cottages before

Just home from a lovely week at Bramley Nook.
Everything was perfect, we had a warm welcome from Mandy who showed us around the cottage and gave us a very informative and helpful chat about the area. Pub next door has an amazing menu, Nepalese dishes as well as full menu, all delicious, and the staff are very friendly The cottage itself is cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean, a real home from home equipped with everything one could need. The little enclosed courtyard was perfect for a morning coffee in the sunshine and our dog appreciated the freedom to potter! The owners in the adjacent property are extremely friendly and helpful. We highly recommend Bramley Nook for a peaceful, relaxing break.
