  I had a lovely stay at The Old Factory House.

  It’s quite a sizeable property and would be perfectly comfortable for six people. Everything was beautifully clean and tastefully decorated with modern appointments. The kitchen feels brand new and had all you could need if you want to cook your own meals. There is ample space for a family to eat as well. The lounge is huge with a great TV and comfy seating. I loved that it still has shutters instead of modern curtains. It’s not overlooked but I closed them every night just for fun! The bedrooms are large and again, nicely decorated. The bed I used was lovely and comfortable. The only negative thing about it was that there is some noise in the mornings as you are on a shopping street and delivering happens first thing. The bathroom is enormous! Fantastic huge bath and a rainfall shower. The property is perfectly positioned to visit Berwick. It’s literally in the middle of the town. It is over a Turkish restaurant which is a must if you visit. The food is amazing and literally right downstairs! Overall the property is highly recommended. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and hope to be back next year.

  What a lovely little find in a great location!

  The hosts of this flat had thought of every comfort, from fleecy throws for chilly toes to plentiful mugs and a lovely welcome pack. The village is ideally located to explore the area in all directions, the port down the hill is so beautiful. I’ve never lived in a flat so hearing others took a bit of getting used to but nothing of note. A few tweaks (dustpan and brush to clean the floor especially after a swim and Sandy toes/clothes, maybe softer bulbs in the lamps) but these are very minor on what is well thought out accommodation with home comforts galore. And the shower…. Hot and powerful to thaw frozen fingers (I do a lot of sea swimming!!) this was a last minute find after our pre booked cottage was cancelled on the day of travel and I have to say I was utterly delighted with our stay. And the neighbours are so so friendly too. The pub round the corner served the best gluten free fish and chips I have had for years. All in all a marvellous stay: and a big thank you to the hosts (I won’t mention the free potato picking post harvest on our walk, my back is still in recovery lol)

  A very cosy little flat that was ideally placed close to the railway station for my arrival and only a short walk from the centre of town.

  Although the metal stairway up to the flat was a bit of a trial for moving a heavy suitcase I was clearly aware of this before I booked. Inside, everything was as described with the addition of a little welcome basket of goodies. As we did have a few days when the weather was a bit cool it was nice to be able to turn on the heating to warm us up. If the weather had been worse there were plenty of books and games available to distract you whist you had to remain indoors. The only confusion arose when trying to work out the day for putting out rubbish for collection. A chart on the wall of the kitchen says that the day is Tuesday and then highlights all the Wednesdays. The welcome book mentions the need to put the rubbish bin out for the collection but did not say where to put it. Happily one of the very helpful neighbours sorted this all out for me, but it might be worthwhile clearing this up in the information pack. All in all a very nice stay, many thanks.

  6 Mill Wharf is an excellent place to stay for visitors wanting to experience the lovely historic town of Berwick 0n Tweed, to explore the delights of surrounding coast and to visit the attractions around and about Edinburgh.

  The apartment is as good as they come; being modern, comfortable well equipped and most importantly well insulated and warm for out of season visitors. The owners have done everything possible to enable guests to enjoy their stay providing excellent welcome treats, OS maps, guides and information booklets; they are easily contactable should you need information or help but otherwise will be unintrusive. Mill Wharf has stunning views of the dock area and across the Tweed to the historic town, harbour and the open sea beyond The apartment is ideally placed for a short walk across the old stone bridge into Berwick centre or along the Tweed to the train station. Local shops and a supermarket are within easy walking distance from the apartment. Safe allocated car parking is within the gated courtyard and has the added bonus of being under cover.

  This apartment was spot on.

  Quality fixtures and fittings and oh so comfortable. Really spoiled for the week enjoying the view of the harbour and working dock, reading a good book, or stretched out on the amazingly comfortable reclining sofa watching a film on the smart tv. Great cooking facilities too. Outside was a treat, too, with a sun bathed Berwick full of so much history. The ramparts and walls are amazing and so easy to get to from the flat by crossing the Old Bridge. Our car was cosseted in its car port in the securely gated courtyard but we spoiled it’s rest by making some trips south to Alnwick and north to St. Abbs. So much more to do in the area and we will certainly return to the idyll of 6 Mill Wharf. Thank you Elaine and Alan for providing such a wonderful apartment which we have no hesitation in recommending.
