  A wonderful cottage.

  As beautiful in real life as the pictures show - if not more. Very relaxing and cosy warm which is so important. Excellent standard of upkeep. Very clean. Appreciated the little touches like the flowers, damson gin (delicious), biscuits and logs on arrival. Lovely linen and fresh towels. Electric oven was temperamental, with the oven not always getting hot. We used the slow cooker in the end and hob worked fine. There was no info on how to use the Aga, but after contacting owners they did offer to come out and show us which was kind and generous. We worked it out in the end though. It was no big drama and managed to cook and eat whilst there. Have to say this was one of the nicest cottages we’ve stayed in. Beautiful grounds, nicely decorated and furnished. We fully intend to book again and return. Location was lovely with gorgeous surroundings views. Hosts were friendly and sent a welcome message to us which was a nice touch. 100/100 fabulous little break.

  The cottage was absolutely beautiful, especially the staircase and the mezzanine area, perfect place to relax and enjoy the gorgeous views.

  We went after lockdown was eased so the owners were understandably shielding, but were still lovely and welcoming despite having to keep a distance. A number of reviewers have mentioned the road leading up to the cottage. We drove a low profile city car who's wheels are mainly rims and very little tyre and we found that yes, there were some bumpy spots here and there, but you'll be fine if you drive slow and careful. And honestly, when you get to the cottage, whatever little bumps you experienced for 5 minutes will be totally worth it. Our kids loved the neighbouring sheep and donkeys, the very free range chickens and geese were such a novelty too and be sure not to miss the amazing sunsets viewable from the paddock. We were lucky to have a clear night and enjoyed the most amazing star studded sky ever without even having to step out. The cottage itself was beautiful, clean and comfortable, well stocked with all the necessary amenities. We had a brilliant week.

  We had a great time in this beautiful property.

  It is well maintained and has lovely countryside views. There are however a couple of points I would like to raise. The 3 miles from Market Drayton will take 20 minutes to get there. The track to the property certainly feels more than a mile, and to exceed more than 5 miles an hour on it is asking for trouble. It is totally isolated. We walked into Market Drayton across the fields and it is a lovely walk, but you could not do that if you were going out for the evening in nice clothes and shoes. A car is a must. Clearly the owners have spent a lot of money on the property but I would willingly have paid a little more to ensure the occupiers do not have to provide their own toilet rolls, kitchen towel and washing up liquid. All were in short supply. These are only minor niggles and may seem petty to mention, but if the owners were to provide an adequate stock they would be close to having the perfect property.

  We had a wonderful stay over Christmas at this beautiful lodge .

  The view over the lake is simply beautiful with surrounding nature scenery. It’s a quiet tranquil location and very peaceful. Cosy homey atmosphere in cottage - just what we wanted as a family at Christmas time and in winter . It’s spacious and fully equipped with facilities to cook and spending time in this cottage with feeling trapped in . Interior Decor of the cottage is really on high standard and well chosen colours to be a pleasure on the eyes. The owners welcomed us so friendly with a bottle of mulled wine , box of mince pies and xmas card on kitchen counter . It smelled so lovely inside and heating was already upon arrival . Forrest of Dean , Clearwell caves and Symonds yat Rock is astonishing sites to visit and only under or about 30min drive from the lodge. Will definitely want to go back in another season .   Exactly as promised, picturesque chocolate box cottage, cosy and quaint, and plenty of room accommodate our group of six.

  Beds and bedding extremely cosy & comfortable, and the bedrooms were charming. The garden was spacious and as recommended, loved picking apples, raspberries and even fresh herbs for our cheese fondue one evening ! The pool table was a brilliant addition to the property, and we spent most evenings trying out our skills! The village pub was a mere 6 mts walk away, and we were warmly welcomed for a delicious Sunday Roast and a couple bottles of Red. We gathered in the cosy lounge for a Netflix’s movie night, sank into the very comfy chairs, then found a pack of cards, playing late into the night, beautiful room to chill out in. Truly a lovely, lovely cottage and gardens to spend time, reconnecting with old friends. Thank you Caroline for accommodating, we wanted for nothing, and had a fabulous time!
