What our customers say about their holidays

Myself and my husband stayed in red kite lodge for a mini break and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Upon arrival we were a little confused at first as sykes cottages had provided us with a key code but no other instructions, so we did spend a good few minutes looking around outside for a place where keys might be stored, until I tried the door and found it was open anyway. When we got inside it was evident it was going to be a lovely stay as the lodge was immaculately clean. We had brought a few things that we may have needed but there was no need as many things were provided for us including tea, coffee, sugar, hand wash, washing up liquid, shampoo, body wash and towels, and a well stocked cupboard of various pots and pans, cutlery, bowls, different size plates you name it, it was there. You could tell a lot of effort had gone into making the lodge as homely as possible and the bread, milk and cake was a nice welcome too. We met Julie on our first night and Kev on our last night as they come around each day to check the hot tub, they were both very friendly and welcoming, and both let us know they were available if we needed anything which was nice. The hot tub was definitely one of our highlights, it was all set up ready to go and was the perfect temperature and because it is undercover we could use it even though the weather wasn't great. The animals are quite literally on your door step, and come upto the lodge every morning (at many other times throughout the day) bellowing at you to feed them haha! You only had to walk outside and they all come running which was funny to see but so adorable, those goats and alpacas sure can eat! And they wasn't the only animals, they have wooly sheep but they mostly kept to themselves, was nice to watch them though. We also had a random cat come to the lodge, absolutely gorgeous but took a serious liking to us and kept trying to come inside for hours on end, it soon gave up when we went to bed. Sadly the only downside was the WiFi was very hit and miss, it was fine for casually scrolling on our phones but we were unable to make full use of the streaming services due to buffering issues, but that was literally the only negative of the place and wasn't that big a deal to us really, just a point to note. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful break. My only wish is that we could have stayed longer, but next time we hope to stay at least a week and in spring/summer time so we can enjoy the surrounding areas a bit more.

Myself and my husband went for a short break.
The accommodation had everything you need for this. Lots of cooking equipment but no instructions how to use any of it ( we did not use anyway). We took teatowels, soap, shampoo, etc but, this is all provided, even though not listed on itinerary. The description of the accommodation was accurate but nothing to say about steep climb up from road if you are walking. The area itself is beautiful, green an lush, went on some lovely walks but again, a lot of ascending inclines. The farm has a menagerie of animals who all come to say hello, particularly Sylvie the cat and mabel, a new foundland, both indulging in having a fuss. Ceri is lovely, willing to help with anything and full of information about the area. We purchased pork pies from her which were amazing- we bought some home too, along with some goat burgers. Could do with a list of produce and prices left in accommodation as they do not have an actual shop. Tha accommodation is quite compact but enough for 2 people. The shower room/ toilet is right next to bed and you cannot open door properly to get into it. We reported the outside lights not working which Ceri came to look at same morning. The hot tub we only managed to use once because of weather, it was great to ease weary bones but, could do with shelter overhead to enable more use. We had not tried this kind of holiday before but would definitely recommend, would like stay in a cottage next time though. Overall, had a lovely few days in beautiful area.

I honestly canât rate Manor Farm Lodges and the Red Kite Lodge highly enough.
I absolutely loved every second there. The lodge is clean, tidy, well equipment with absolutely everything you could need and we were welcomed with a beautiful lemon cake, break and milk so we could have a cuppa and cake the minute we arrived. The views are spectacular! Even in the rain, because of the under covered area, we could still sit outside and enjoy it all or chill out in the well maintained hot tub. The goats, alpacas, sheep and chickens came over for food every day. Provided by Julie & Kev, our hosts who we couldnât have asked for better. Friendly, helpful and quick to respond when we had a question. We had a couple of trips down the hill to the pub, The Bull & Heifer, which had one of the nicest Sunday Roasts Iâve had in a long time. (Booking essential). As animals lovers I personally couldnât have asked for a more perfect place to stay and I will 100% be booking to go back again. There are loads of things to do within around an hours drive and despite the weather being a bit rubbish we had an awesome week and that was all down to the location and set up of the lodges. You have so much privacy and it has to be one of the most tranquil places Iâve been. Thank you again to Julie and Kev, you have thought it all out perfectly. It is a very special place you have there.

We have just got from a great week from here.
we stayed in the red kite lodge.x We arrived to a lovely homemade chocolate cake. Julie popped into us on the first night to make sure all was ok and to let us know if we needed anything she and kev were available to help. The lodge had everything you can think of to make it like home. Bread, milk ,tea and coffee was also left for us. kids had a great time looking for Katie the red kite which had a chocolate for them as a prize.x The animals added to the lodge as the kids had a great time waking up to them and feeding them carrots daily. Kev took the kids around the farm on his quad and explained to the kids about everything. He did this more than once. They provide a book which gives you all details on places to visit. , also places to eat. We were there for our 15th wedding anniversary ,so we tried dinner at the local which is about a 10 minute walk and we was not disappointed. We enjoyed it so much we already booked to go back before we had even left. Thank you for making our week a great memory. See you next year.x

Wow! What a fantastic week we have had!
Julie and Kev are the perfect hosts and have gone above and beyond to make our holiday extra special, including a delicious chocolate cake, bread and milk, on arrival. Red Kite Lodge is so comfortable, a real home from home. It has everything you could need and has been beautifully designed. We have loved feeding Ed, Bob and Tom (the alpacas) everyday with digestive biscuits and carrots, playing archery and Kevâs trip to visit the horses was just amazing. A hidden gem, with so many wonderful places to visit in mid Wales, we canât wait to return! Both the beaches and countryside are spectacular. The children have loved every minute of it, especially having their own private hot tub on the veranda, surrounded by spectacular views of the beautiful Welsh countryside. It has been, by far, the best UK holiday we have ever had. Many thanks to Julie and Kev for being such great hosts and for helping us to create happy holiday memories.
