What our customers say about their holidays

Iâm going to start with the positives.
Hot tub was amazing. Really bubbly and perfect temperature. However we have stayed in lots of holiday lodges and weâre used to having the hot tub checked and wiped over daily. This happened twice during our stay. Outside area is also lovely and comfortable with beautiful views over the field. There was however a cushion pad missing from the outside sofa which would have left someone with no seat if there had been 4 of us staying. I let the property manager know this by text. The pressure and temp in the showers was the best Iâve ever had in a holiday lodge. However, there was no sieve, colander, corkscrew or cafetière in the kitchen. I couldnât even make a pot of pasta as I couldnât drain it. Even if there was a sieve or colander, there wasnât a pot big enough to cook pasta. Given that this is a lodge for 4 people thatâs not good news. Only 2 rings worked on the hob also. The couch in the living room was very uncomfortable and as a result I spent most of my time on the outside couch. Thatâs fine as we had good weather but if it rained I would have spent a lot of time on a very uncomfortable couch. The pillows in both bedrooms were wafer thin and the fact that the pillow slips were enormous made them feel and look even more flimsy. Considering that we spent over £1000 for seven days none of this is good enough and I hope the owner reads this and makes the necessary changes.

Our stay at The Broken Sky Lodge was truly exceptional.
From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed by the thoughtful touches, like the delicious cookies and sweets waiting for us. The lodge itself is beautifully appointed, with great facilities that made our stay both comfortable and convenient. The beds were incredibly comfy, ensuring we had restful nights, and the large hot tub was the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, which allowed us to cook most nights without any hassle. The peacefulness of the site added to the overall relaxing experience, making it a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Our host was attentive and checked in from afar to ensure everything was going smoothly, which we greatly appreciated. Overall, The Broken Sky Lodge provided us with a lovely stay, and we couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommended!

Beautiful property.
Well equipped and comfortable. Thoughtful touches like welcome pack, one for dogs too. We were there for a celebratory 70th birthday BBQ with family found the BBQ to be unusable with food, grease and mold. Took over 5 hours to get a response from onsite maintenance company who just put grids in dishwasher, which still the food, mould etc on the grids. Very upsetting for all. Travelled round trying to buy new one but no avail. Did our best to clean it ourselves. Throughout the day tried to get help from Sykes, still waiting for a reply! Made a formal complaint to Sykes 2nd October, no response. Tried their Wattsap contact line today chasing the complaint, no response. I would recommend the owner stop using Sykes, they treat their customers very badly. Trust pilot reviews are manipulated. Google reviews more accurate.

We were an extended family of 6 ( grandparents, daughter and son in law and two grandchildren and Restharrow Lodge suited all our requirements.
The property was beyond our expectations, it was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The beds were comfy. The hot tub was âthe icing on the cakeâ and our two grandsons ( twins aged 11) absolutely loved it. We had some wonderful days out visited Alnwick Castle, a boat trip to the Farne Islands ( Billy Sheils Boat trip) and we visited Holy Island(Lindisfarne). We were so lucky with the weather it was wonderful. We also had a fantastic meal at The Potted Lobster ( we booked beforehand) and also at The Victoria Hotel(highly recommended). All in all it was the perfect holiday thanks to our excellent accommodation. Thank you Restharrow Lodge for making it so special we made lovely memories.

Lovely location Lake could be a bit cleaner with more benches.
That just one small contrition. The lodge was facilitated with every we could wish for. A proper home from home. From lovely clean beds made for us to washing up liquid dishwasher pods and loo rolls provided. Nipping clean. Friendly hot tub guy coming around every morn to put solution in tub. We had one night of clear sky. Felt like we could touch the stars. Enjoyed our country walks where we saw a dear and red squirrel. Ordered and picked up meals from the Coach House. A little pricey but delicious. Hence why we ordered again. Canât wait to go back. Loved it. A family of five with a dog. A lovely chilled relaxing holiday at Otterburn
