  We stayed for 3 nights to celebrate a 50th birthday and this place did not disappoint!

  Beautiful location, modern and clean property and in a great location, quiet but close enough to local amenities. This place ticked every box! We brought two large dogs who loved to run in the large, secure garden and then warm up with the underfloor heating. The kitchen is fully stocked with glasses for every need: utensils, pots, pans, chopping boards, serving platters and cleaning stuff. We did find we didn’t have any antibacterial spray or paper towels (but was more than happy to buy) so bare this in mind when doing shopping before coming! There is a mop and Hoover available to use (handy with pets) and washing up liquid, sponges and dishwasher tablets within the kitchen which was really convenient. A highchair is also provided if travelling with children.We had also been left some very delicious cakes which went down fantastically after we arrived. The bedrooms are spotless, with comfortable and large beds and amazing showers in the en-suites. The area is clean, beautiful and quiet with the occasional noise from the nearby roads (nothing major). After reading other reviews, we collected a takeaway from the local Chinese, Golden Bird. We had such a feast and is absolutely worth it’s good reputation. There are many shops within a 20min-30min drive in Bangor, Asda, Marks and Spencers, Waitrose and Lidl all easily accessible by car. If you’re looking for things to do with dogs, we visited Newborough Warren beach which is dog friendly at particular times of the year. This was around 30 minutes drive with parking practically on the beach. Would 100% recommend this stay to anyone with or without dogs. There is no doubt that we will be returning!

  The property itself is lovely.

  The views from the living room windows, out to sea are beautiful - the pictures on here don’t do it justice. The cottage is well equipped and has everything you need. It’s a great space and the open plan living is ideal. Owners were friendly. There were however a number of niggles - the cottage was freezing when we arrived and it took almost two days to heat up (underfloor heating and there is no fire etc for instant heat), the stairs creak badly, Wi-Fi doesn’t exist downstairs, tv in the living room is an old smart tv and therefore you can only get Netflix (not the end of the world but would have been useful in the evenings), parking is at the back of the property (not the front as the pictures would suggest - that’s for the owners!), the freezer is downstairs at the back door (again, not the end of the world - just an inconvenience, especially when there is space at the top of the stairs for it!), the hot tub (which was lovely) is situated in front of the cottage - across the area where the owners park. We felt that the pictures on the site are misleading about the parking and location of the hot tub. Both double beds were uncomfortable, though as we were leaving there was a mattress which was waiting to be brought in - so hopefully that will fix one of the beds!

  On arrival the house is spectacular and private The kitchen was fabulous and the appliances were easy to use and of a high standard Great size dining table for the family to get together The house was lovely and clean Light and fresh everywhere The beds were very comfortable and lovely bedding en suites were a bonus Lounge area had very nice quality seating which was very comfortable The garden was ideal for the family dashchund and gave peace of mind to us with the garden being fully enclosed The hot tub was a fantastic bonus and we got some lovely time in there The house is located in a good spot ideal for visiting other areas of the island The owners were great not intrusive but there when needed and left a nice welcome pack Our only negative was the road noise as we arnt used to that but this cant be heard in the house if windows are shut and the fans in the bedroom mean you can keep windows shut Would highly recommend this gorgeous house

  We enjoyed our stay at Wern Olau cottage very much.

  It is in a great location, and we loved winding our way up the little road to reach it. The cottage was well-presented, spotlessly clean and in good order. Everything worked, and everything we needed was there - it felt like the owners had thought hard about what their guests might like. The bedrooms were comfortable, with large beds, and the bathrooms were fresh and clean. We met the owner, Dewi, who was friendly and helpful. We also met the cats out the front, who were keen for a fuss! Our only snag was the back door lock, which turned out to be quite fiddly to work. This took a bit of a knack to unlock but we got there in the end. There is also no quiet or graceful way to go up or down the creaky stairs, but it added to the character! We loved Wern Olau cottage, and hope to return soon! Thank you for a lovely stay.

  Absolutely loved this place!

  Perfect location for exploration of north snowdownia, also easy access via car for coastal areas/south stack etc. Some lovely treats in a basket for us when we arrived, which while not expected were a lovely addition. Everything has been thought of, even things like having 2 routers for Internet for upstairs and downstairs. Everything was clean, hosts friendly, cats outside friendly. Lovely hot tub, it was also very clean (I've seen them not so clean at rental properties) it's located out the front, not the back (that's where the view is) but it's literally 15 steps from the front door, so no idea why someone moaned about this in a previous review. I'd return in a heartbeat! We were 2 adults but this place would easily accommodate 2 couples and a child or 2 couples and additional friend. Thanks!
