What our customers say about their holidays

  • Janet - Verified booking

Where do I start, I have been to this property about 4 times, I like where its situated, I like its a bungalow ( i live in a bungalow, i have disabilities), and has a garden for my dogs.

We had a pretty rough journey down, snow & hail etc.... my dogs were desperate to go out, no matter what I did, I couldn't open the back door, it was stuck fast, even the person with me couldn't open it... but what hit us first was, the smell of smoke, someone had been smoking in the kitchen & the conservatory. The door that was between the conservatory & the kitchen, was propped up off its fixings with a note saying do not touch, attached to it. The whole building was freezing too, because of it. When we eventually got the back door open, the dogs ran out to relieve themselves and my youngest found a piece of chocolate cake on the patio chair & ate it! She had a funny tummy for the rest of the holiday, as you may be aware, chocolate is toxic to dogs. Later on my eldest dog found chicken bones, when we looked, the bins were overflowing and full of fat, a computer monitor and a spare tyre! There was a broken mirror in the wardrobe, a big blue stain on the carpet & when I started using the pots, they were all dirty... I left the ones I wasn't going to use, I'm not washing other peoples dirty pots! The whole place had its of dirty marks on walls & doors & just seemed really unloved. The garden did get a trim & looked better than previous times we've been. It'd sad really, as I said I've been lots of times before, but this time it looked really sad. Someone did come & empty the bin, but.it was still full of fat. I enjoyed my holiday because I love Nevyn. But the house is very rundown now. I'm booked in later in the year, unless things change, I'm not going to stay in the property. The sofa's are not comfy at all. The shower head is full of black & needs a good sterilisation. The whole 0lace needs a good clean up & maintenance plan. The beds are comfy, bedding & towels clean. The dishwasher had a note on saying it was leaking so to put a towel on the floor when.its used to catch.the water! I didn't use it. The heating was.on most.of the time we where there but it was really cold all the time in lounge & kitchen because the conservatory door couldn't be closed as it was off its runners. Shame really. But Nevyn is lovely and my favourite place.

Lovely cottage, tastefully converted from an attached stone outbuilding.

The property owner was very friendly and helpful and was available if we needed any help. Comfortable furniture and lovely decor. Outside space was lovely but unfortunately as it was November we were unable to sit out and enjoy it. Kitchen was well equipped but I was intrigued why we should need 3 different ways of making a cup of coffee! In the end I went out and bought a jar of instant! Handy for the Spar supermarket which was well stocked. There were 3 maintenance issues which Peta was aware of and she assured us that they would be put right.(Two on the stairs and the cupboard on the landing which wouldn't stay closed) The only problem we found was the stairs, as they were steep, had a bend in them and the only 'aid' was a looped rope on the stone wall. It looked very attractive and was in keeping with the decor, but as two 80-year olds, we struggled to get up and down to the bedroom and the bathroom. From our point of view a rigid hand rail would have been better. The cottage was as advertised a 10 minute walk from the beach but as the road to it was down a very steep road, we only walked there once and were reluctant to drive to the car park at the bottom in case the car 'ran away' with us. The whole area is really beautiful and we felt we had missed out because we were restricted by our inability to walk very far. Perhaps we didn't read the information given for this cottage closely enough and we should have chosen somewhere different but all in all we enjoyed our stay there. However it is unlikely that we will go back.

This is our second stay in Eryl.

We absolutely love the three double bed rooms which are ideal for mother and two daughter share. The garden was totally dog proof for our two small dogs but access through the back door is not ideal and challenging for a 91 year old to open and close securely. We had fairly inclement weather (but we do generally visit the Llyn out of season!) but the option of continuous heating and hot water is a real bonus. The location is quiet with excellent parking and is good for walking to Nefyn beach and the coast path to Morfa Nefyn. The kitchen is well equipped apart, from a lack of kitchen scissors, and we were surprised by the fridge capacity which is excellent. Unfortunately the sliding door between the kitchen and conservatory was missing which made the room quite a bit cooler and draughty at times. The seating in the living room is adequate but could be more comfortable for three adults sharing. The general cleanliness is also adequate but could be improved by more attention to detail - it didn’t ‘sparkle’. Half of the toilet flush button is missing. The linen and towel provision is very good! Providing Eryl is still available next year we will be back!

Eryl is a very nice detatched bungalow near the end of a small housing estate, which is a cul de sac.

On arrival we found a small bottle of fresh nilk in the fridge which was a nice little touch. Nice garden with outside chairs and table. Inside the property is well furnished with good quality fittings, comfy beds, decent shower in the bathroom and modern kichen with decent quality hob and oven. There is also an airiness about the place which contributes to the positive ambiance we felt about the property. Eryl is positioned about 100 yards from an access point to the coastal path which diverts from the coastline and passes through Nefyn. Additionally there is a pleasant leisure area with a waste bin at that point which is perfect for walking a dog first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Nefyn has a couple of shops, a couple of pubs and a couple of eateries. There are supermarkets in Pwthelli and Porthmadoc. There is an okay beach in Nefyn but you only have to travel a few miles to discover a variety of exceptional ones. Our favourite was Towyn which was simply awesome.

We had a great week Bwthyn Bach the cottage is really lovely and comfortable.

Lovely touches like quality bedding and being in control of the heating was great. The welcome pack was very much appreciated too. There is a small garden out the back with a table and 2 chairs such a nice place to relax in the evening sunshine after a hard day's walking on the nearby coastal paths. We even had a visit from 3 little lambs in the garden that totally confused our dog when they started playing with her as she thinks she should do the chasing. The cottage is ideally situated with great walks and beachs in all directions right from the front door. Very close to major towns and only 30 Mile's or so from Snowdonia range of mountain walks. We had a couple of issues with kitchen equipment while we were there, which I mentioned to Peta the owner. Peta took the issues on board and took action to solve them. Thank you Peta for a lovely place to stay we will definitely be visiting again soon.
