  Woodpecker is in a great location with peaceful surroundings and a fantastic rural view. The short walk down and around the lake was a hit with the kids. We were met with sunshine, showers and heavy wind at some points (March), but that didn’t stop us from firing up the hot tub (allow plenty of time for this) and jumping in it when the wind had died down and the sun came out, perfect! The honesty shop is fabulous for recharging the lanterns supplied and picking up any additional fire lighting equipment, candles, not to mention the games, books and even a fridge with designated shelf for each tent. With it being a March booking, we made use of the winter blankets and hot water bottles (very thankful for these!), also thankful for the unlimited logs to keep the log burner topped up. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, washing up liquid, hand soap and even kitchen roll. The gas stove was very handy for cooking (as well as on top of the stove), and boiling the kettle. We were very impressed with the toilet flush, lots of power considering it was in the middle of a field and the showers were also sufficient. The site manager was very attentive and was on hand if and when needed. I would definitely recommend this holiday to others and would love to stay again. Thank you Glamping Hideaways!

  This was our second stay at Swandown and this is our first review.

  Our family of 4 (we have twin boys aged 11) love coming here, the standard of the lodges are fantastic (we have stayed at lodges 9 and 14) everything you need is at hand in the kitchen, the living areas are very comortable and have plenty of space and the outdoor areas are lovely too. The staff are very welcoming, great to deal with and friendly. The supermarkets are a 10 minute drive, the local pub a 5 minute walk (and has fantastic views from the garden) and the local golf club (all welcome) is a 5 minute drive, both are great for eating out. The likes of Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Burnham, Weymouth & Teignmouth are reachable in an hour and Minehead, Torquay and Bournemouth around 90 mins so perfectly located for day trips out. This is one of our favourites and we will definately be returning.

  We had the most wonderful stay at Kittisford Barton with Glamping Hideaways! Our safari tent was clean, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed for our long weekend. Martyn, the site manager, gave us a warm welcome on arrival and we knew he was on hand if we needed anything. The honesty shop was great for things we needed to get the fires going and conveniently had a fridge for storing food and lots of spare lanterns. We loved sitting in the hot tub as the sun went down, the area has very little light pollution, so stargazing was dreamy! If you are early risers like us, watch out for the epic sunrises. This was my second time staying at this glamping site and already look forward to returning in the future.

  We had a wonderful time in staying in Kingfisher at Kittisford Barton. The views from the decking were appreciated over morning coffee and the laying back in the hot tub gazing at the stars, was a magical way to spend the evening. The tent was well-equipped and we were very impressed with the comfort and quality of the beds and sofa and dining furniture. The wood burner kept us toasty as did the fluffy blankets and hot water bottles provided. The children enjoyed the freedom that the expansive surroundings provided and the distance from the other tents meant that we had privacy and it felt very peaceful. All in all, a really enjoyable stay and many happy memories made as a family.
