What our customers say about their holidays

Fantastic accommodation in a lovely peaceful location.
The house feels like a home as soon as you arrive, itâs clean and very tastefully decorated, and has everything you could need to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. A very generous welcome pack on arrival (thank you Nici) the milk, tea and coffee very much appreciated after a long journey. We all (dogs and humans) loved our walks around Carisbrooke Castle and local fields, and the dogs loved paddling in the ford on the way back. The house is in a great location to explore the island and lovely to come back to after long days sightseeing, especially being able to relax in the hot tub. We were incredibly lucky with the weather, so we made the most of our days out. Nici is really friendly and helpful, even putting extra boarding up to stop our small dog potentially escaping from the garden. Very reassuring to know that the garden is secure. We would absolutely love to stay at the Coach House again and wouldnât hesitate to recommend it.

Hi Sharon, I thought my daughter Tegan had done the review on the train The Pepper Pot Retreat is a well appointed, good sized holiday home.
It is situated along a very quiet private road with access to beautiful walks, not far from the Retreat, up the private road. Your hosts Sharon and John are very welcoming and knowledgeable of the local area. They live onsite, so are not far away should you need anything. Sharon has a treatment room on site offering many services from hair cuts to full body massages, we had the relaxing massages, which were great. The Retreat is newly refurbished and been done well, with good sized double and twin bedrooms. The living area is open planned with kitchen dinner and and lounge area. There is a small secure fenced in area for your furry friends, but you are encouraged to walk up the lane for them to relieve themselves. In this area you also have table and chairs along with a four seater hot tub. The Retreat is set away from the hussle and bussel of life, but not too far from Villages and attractions on the Island.

The brochure stated that the garden was fully enclosed, which it wasn't.
We chose this property because we were taking our son, daughter in law and to energetic grandsons ages 3 years and 17 months with us. The enclosed garden was one of the deciding factors. The property itself had been lovingly restored and was positioned close to the beach and playground. The problem was that the owner was in the process of having various work done resulting in the garden resembling a bit of a building site. The furniture and fittings were of good quality but the dining room chairs were too low, there were no hooks in the shower room or the bedrooms so we were unable to hang up towels, coats etc in the rooms. the patio was lovely but there was only enough seating for two people when the cottage was for 6. Overall we enjoyed the cottage and the location. I have informed the owner and he is going to change and add things so it will be interesting to find out what changes have been made.

The Coach House was beyond our expectations.
As we arrived Nici was there to greet us and we immediately felt very welcome and at home. There was a welcome basket of local produce which we enjoyed very much. The cottage was exceptionally clean, well decorated, light and airy and the beds were extremely comfortable. The courtyard and the garden were secure so we had no worries about our dog, Kofi escaping. The hot tub was used every day after our days explorations of the island. A lovely way to end the day. The location of the Coach House was ideal for getting around and we could also walk to and around Carrisbrook Castle with Kofi from there which we did every morning. Nici was at hand if we needed her. Nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed our fresh eggs from her hens. We are looking forward to visiting again.

The cottage is a semi-detached conversion and part of the Garlic Farm complex. We were not disturbed by our neighbours, though there was a modest amount of road noise from the lane outside. The welcome guide, sent by email in advance, was very helpful. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped and the cottage generally comfortable. The only shower is downstairs, but it worked well (unlike many other properties we have stayed in). Our main issue was that noise travelled between the bedrooms, which probably wouldn’t affect a family, but may be more of an issue for adults with different sleeping patterns. The local pub (20 minutes walk) and the Farm restaurant were both good. We recommend booking direct with the Garlic Farm rather than through an agency.
