What our customers say about their holidays
The D Family. - Verified booking
We have just stayed at 3, Sandy Lane for 7-nights and it has been simply wonderful. We are a family of 4 with two children aged 7 and 5 who loved their first ever UK holiday! The apartment is fairly spacious, modern, clean and finished to a high standard - Dualit kettle and toaster, Joseph Joseph utensils, John Lewis crockery are simple examples of where luxury and attention to detail have been observed. The decor is light, bright and feels like a âhome from homeâ.The beautiful bi-fold doors open onto a large terrace area that stretches around the side of the apartment where two rattan sun beds can be foundâ¦and are perfectly located to catch those Cornish rays of sunshine in the event the sun makes an appearance - which fortunately it did for us!The beds are comfortable and beautifully made up - just be mindful they are double beds so if you have a super king sized bed at home it takes some adjusting to!The apartment itself is perfectly located to explore all Cornwall has to offer - we took trips out to the Minack Theatre, Lands End and Hayle beach just to name a few and none took too long to get to.Carbis Bay train station is about a 3-minute walk away and ideal to jump on to travel to the nearby town of St Ives - in fact, Iâd suggest it is a must as the views are spectacular and parking in St Ives is hellish!Carbis Bay beach takes just 5-10 minutes to walk to - even with two kids and body boards in tow -though the walk back is a good 10-15 given itâs uphill!I honestly, canât recommend 3, Sandy Lane enough as the perfect place to stay in the event youâre visiting north Cornwall. Weâll certainly be looking to return next year and hope the exceptional standards set have been maintained. Thanks you to the owners and Cornwall Hideaways for the perfect staycation.

Great stay, a few reviews mention early morning noise from vehicles delivering to the pub and shop outside.
There was, but it didn`t bother us as it was usually around 7 o`clock, sometimes slightly earlier, sometimes later and as early risers, we were usually up and about by then. A set of draws somewhere would be nice as there was only hanging space with 12 hangers, luckily we took spare hangers with us as there are never enough wherever you stay. Only a small dustpan and brush. A longer handled version or better still a vacuum to keep the floor clean would be better. We visited in November which means early darkness, so an outside light would be nice as it is very dark through the gate and round the back to the accommodation. One with a sensor would be ideal, so it only comes on when people activate it. Having a parking space is a big plus. We stayed in Mevagissey last year in a cottage with a great view overlooking the harbour. Unfortunately no parking so you had to leave the car on the opposite side of the harbour and walk back round, so the parking space at Midships is a very welcome. For us, the pros far out way the cons, so we have already booked up for another stay at Midships next year. Looking forward to it.

Beautiful new apartment, 2 minute walk round to the harbour perfect location in the town, it had been well cleaned but a few things stood out like in the drawers in the bathroom and bedroom there were some hairs and fluff left from previous guests.
In the bathroom there was no soap on the sink, which considering covid I would of thought there should be as soap in the shower room sink. The bed was ok but heavy noisey mattress protector and duvet, also pillows were so new and big they made your head sit up, we ended up not using them. It was disappointing that in the handbook it said there should be tea, coffee, milk when you arrive, but nothing, we arrived late on the Saturday and then Sunday morning the shop hadnât had milk delivery so we had to wait to go out on the Sunday to get a morning drink. We booked the week before our stay, had the confirmation email from Sykes saying we could check in from 3 and depart by 10, then we messaged the lady about the key collection and within 5 days it had then changed from check in at 5 and depart by 9. That should of been in the confirmation email in the first place. These are all small picky things, overall we had a lovely stay but if these were corrected it would have been perfect.

The apartment is spacious and comfortable with ample storage space.
The parking area is good with room to manoeuvre larger cars. The staircase would be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues; the details should make clear that there are 39 steep granite steps up to the living area (22 steps to the apartment door and a further 17 inside). The provision of kitchen utensils is rather sparse eg no can opener, slotted spoons, trays, roasting tin and a few more mugs would be handy. Usually in holiday lets there is a file giving details about bin collections, instructions for the heating system, TV, WIFI code, local services and amenities etc but there is no information folder currently at this property. We found the apartment got very warm on sunny days (lucky us!) and we would have preferred lighter weight bedding to be available. That said, we had a very enjoyable week and would certainly recommend the apartment to others.
