  Beautiful, comfortable, spotless property in a superb location. The welcome hamper was fantastic. The dog welcome hamper was a great extra touch too! We’ve been to Northumberland many times on holiday, usually staying in the countryside, but we really enjoyed being in Alnwick itself for ease of access to everything. We can really recommend Turnbull’s in town for lunch foods and the one on the outskirts of town for meat and other dining goodies. We had very good fish and chips and gelato from Carlo’s too. We had trips to the seaside at Longhoughton, Beadnell and Warkworth. A walk we have never missed on any visit is from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle – recommend parking in the “field parking” before the main carpark – more space and friendlier! We also enjoyed walking in the national park at Simonside.For people with a dog, there’s a nice park about 5mins away from the property, turn right out of the front door and right up past the police station – the park is near Swansfield Primary School – the park is called Swansfield park. The dog also enjoyed a run off the lead in the landscape below the castle near to the river. And of course we also paid several visit to Barter Books! Our son enjoyed having his own “suite” on the mezzanine! A great holiday – didn’t want to leave! – Many thanks.

  A beautiful apartment with amazing views over the harbour. Very cosy! All fixtures and fittings are of a high standard and the kitchen is well equipped. The en-suite shower is particularly helpful to those of us who find step-up showers tricky. The lift meant I could easily enjoy the views without concerns about stairs. No parking concerns as a dedicated space. Helpful comprehensive digital booklet provided by Coquet Cottages. I appreciated the telephone contact. I didn’t have any issues or concerns but that would have been useful if I had. I appreciate how Coquet Cottages has handled the unusual situation caused by the pandemic. I booked in 2019 for March 2020, deferred till winter 2020, took a refund then booked again. I finally made it! At all stages company staff were helpful and proactive despite the workload aggravated by changes in COVID guidance.

  We had a fantastic break at Carswell Quarters. The location was superb and perfect for easy access straight onto the Coast Path for frequent walks with our woofer. And the uninterrupted views are to die for. The arrival information from Finest Stays was very helpful. Although The Lanterns was not difficult to find, the instructions for driving to the location and the photos of what to look for, the parking space and the steps up to the front door etc were a nice touch. The apartment itself is beautifully decorated and furnished. The bathrooms and kitchen especially have the "wow" factor. The beds and bedlinen are top quality and very comfortable and the towels superbly "fluffy". We enjoyed the treats in the thoughtful "goody bag". The kitchen is well equipped. Thank you for a lovely stay.

  We have had a wonderful stay at The Old Library. We loved the décor and the furnishings. The whole place was way beyond expectations. We have stayed at quite a few cottages around the UK and this is the best by far! We had quite a lot of day trips whilst here but we would really recommend visiting Bamburgh Castle (with some time at the beautiful beach) and a visit to Seahouses to get the boat to The Farne Islands. Alnwick is a lovely little town, with plenty of places to eat, shop and drink. We would recommend The Tanners Arms for a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, a good pint and a place to take your dog. It’s also a stones through away from the cottage. We are going to recommend the cottage to all of our friends as we’ve absolutely loved it!
